  1. Not a fun travel schedule for Lufkin. Good heavens bless everybody's backs that have to ride the yellow dogs.
  2. I think there are master programs based on coaching or athletic administration. (Could be wrong.) probably more tuned toward handling the responsibilities of being an AD rather than actual coaching. I can see how that could be a factor in a hire, but if you just need a masters in any field to qualify then it doesn't make much sense.
  3. Yeah, people are trying to use this instance to justify other claims of recruiting but NS has documentation of their players and process showing they did it correctly. If any one claims they recruited the kids that came and went through the eligibility process (which would be a violation) They would need hard evidence to oppose the NS reports.
  4. Which is legal. they didn't break eligibility rules. This happens all over even at schools that aren't powerhouses. The report states they played JV, after a calendar year at NS they would earn varsity eligibility even if they announced they moved for athletic purposes.
  5. Not a violation to move for Athletic purposes but you lose that year of varsity eligibility. Playing on a varsity roster during that year is a violation. Transfers don't necessarily indicate recruiting violations happening, schools are allowed to receive transfers no matter the family's motive. Good programs will naturally draw in top athletes because the families want to see them play there and that is perfectly legal and their right. DEC are tasked with deciding if the move was for athletics to decide eligibility, this is where the debates happen bc they don't want to lose that year of varsity play. The violations occur when they play on varsity rosters if the DEC decides they are ineligible, or a coach/district employee contacting, persuading, or enticing a player to come to their school (recruiting).
  6. Lol you said he didn’t resign. His opening statement start with him saying he resigned
  7. Does any body know what the applicant pool was like before Reyes?
  8. Did anyone ever get a list of applicants?
  9. on paper the balance looks good but logistically I feel like this COULD greatly increase travel times and cost.
  10. records are window dressing. you sell yourself with your plan (prep, process, vision, community building and relationship etc.) Lot of great coaches with bad records, lots of bad coaches with good records as well. You try to find the ones "doing it the right way" for your best chance at success
  11. Someone already said it but this is all gamesmanship. Trying to gain an edge wherever you can. Defensive backs are coached to grab at the hips and to bump arms to slow WRs down, Wrs are taught to push off with elbows and hands on the hip, linemen are coached to grab block body to body to cover up holding. Every sport has it, and every good team does it whether they are wearing certain color gloves or not.
  12. Knee pads do nothing in terms of protection for a player, and pose no safety risk if improperly worn (eg. exposed should pads or back plates). Its nice that officials have moved on and can focus on more important rules than knee pads.
  13. The good news is: 1. people are only outraged at the speculation that suddenly 100s of schools are going to start opting up. This has basically become the red scare lol 2. We're talking two doormat setx school and doormat hisd schools, the effect is near zero. 3. Re-alignment is every 2 years so problems can be solved We aren't locking in TV contracts, There's a reason they don't announce districts the day after numbers get submitted. Let them work it out and likely mess it up. You know, the way bureaucracy is supposed to work. 😃
  14. Districts haven't been made yet and the opt up wouldn't happen until realignment so it shouldn't be an issue.
  15. looking at your schedule I would think you could keep those game (on different weeks, if scheduling allows of course) liberty replaces Splendora other than you played the entire "new" district this season
  16. There's a few people on here that are very adamant that playing a tough non-district doesn't matter if your district is weak lol 🤣 I think either side is of the argument is exaggerated, no coaching staff is is going to lose sleep about it. Line up and play the team across from you.
  17. Most districts have 7-9 teams. Your district schedule begins earlier and you lose those non-district games.
  18. Don’t worry I don’t think about you
  19. If the games are anything like the boards I may have to check it out
  20. Sounds like some fragile egos in Orange, Looking at histories it sure seems like Lumberton and LCM have more in common than they want to believe. couple more play off appearances I think and maybe a few playoff wins. overall win/loss is very even. LCM has head to head. Seems like LCM is screaming and teary eyed trying to convince themselves that they are more like PNG and Ned than Lumberton.
  21. I'll hopefully be at this one. Lets see if it lives up to the billing, will be the first time seeing either team in action.
