If I am hearing this right, Teague like to run and play full court press?? This is EXACTLY what Kountze want you to do!! Are you kidding me:! I am just going to predict that the team with the most fouls will end up losing and I am going to predict Kountze will break the 100 mark in this game. Arnold will probably have one of the best games of his life and would love to see how they hold him one on one or prevent him from getting double digit assist. I also believe it will come down to a chess game and which coach will make the right decisions. Wish, I can be there to see this one. PREDICTION: Kountze 101 - Teague 79 (and that is if this game will be a run - run full press game....just my opinion:)

Nothing the Kountze players are not use too. Crocket need to make sure they don't get to cocky ..... Kountze has been there and done that...., but the same apply to them. I believe Kountze players will handle it better and Crocket may come out getting shaken up very quickly. I actually think Crocket may get into some foul trouble real early:!

How many think we can see these three teams in San Antonio this year??? Would love to see the trophies come to Kountze, Silsbee, and Beaumont this year!!!!

Man, this is going to be a great game!! I work at Fort Bend ISD, but from that Big Thicket in Southeast Texas....so Im pulling for Central & Silsbee!!:)

I agree with KHSAlum400. I believe it will come down to Kountze/East Chambers, but of course preparation from the coaches play a big part....which Coach Joubert and Coach Sutherland are two of the best at doing that. It will make great basketball!!! The only problem also is that you cannot count out any basketball team at this point. Hopefully, Kountze will have the other two players back. The bench players that Kountze do have will hopefully continue to step up and improve each game. One thing for sure is that Kountze players do play with heart and a lot of pride and that does a lot for a team of that caliber. Basketball is getting really interesting and fun to watch!!:) I am hoping to go see Kountze play Crockett this Friday. This will be a great test for them!!

Congrats to both team!!!! New Waverly, represent that Region 3. Yall beat a very good team tonight and tonight yall were the best team. Kountze, nothing to hang your heads down about. You have kept the tradition going. Everyone still know that the road to the 'ship goes through Kountze! To all the seniors on the team, thank you for all you have done for the town Kountze, your community, and your school. The fans of Kountze are very proud of you. As for New Waverly, keep bringing the excitement. Nothing is guaranteed, but from what i heard, your drive to play your heart out is. Good luck the rest of the way.

A must see basketball game!!! Wish I can be there. Good luck to both teams!!! I will pray for the safety of all throughout this game and may the best team this night win (because we all know anybody on anyday can get lose or win). Whoever wins, please represent Region 3 with class and come home with that trophy. I would definitely like to see one of these teams bring home the trophy. Glad to hear that the coach from NW is doing better. One thing for sure.....someone is going home tonight not happy, but know that you lost to a quality team!

So, if someone wins other than New Waverly, then it is considered a weak 2A? There have been best teams, by opinion, who did not make it to state, but don't mean it was a weak 2A. It means that anything with any team can happen. One team could probably win all of there games for the year and lose in the first round (ask Silsbee). I believe Kountze should have made it to state last year, but they end up losing a close one to Centerville and the team who did win state was probably not the best 2A team in the State of Texas, but I know that there were plenty strong 2A teams last year like there are this year. It is the same thing as to say that if Kountze win, New Waverly must of had a weak schedule (and I know they didn't, but that's my point). With all that said, I think it will say a lot for a team that is definitely the underdog and not rank to really show that the game is played one game at a time and as long as you win that one game and move to the next, then you are doing what you are suppose to do. Maybe Kountze can stop this win streak NW has had this year...it might just happen... What I like about these kids is that they are playing with heart and brains, and sometimes that is all you need to win.....so if Kountze do win and win state, I would say that this was a team that played smart, team basketball in a LOADED, region 3 2A league (I think this is the strongest region by far 2A and 3A).

Any info on how the each team played in this game? I was not able to make it, so I am kind of leaning on the information I receive in this forum on detailed information (opinions/facts) on this game. THanks!

If they end up playing each other, where would this game possibly be at? Thoughts of it maybe being in Bryan, Texas...but don't know how true that is.

Because it is in Anuahac, I will say it will be close until the 3rd period when the Lions will pull away. Lions by 14. I believe that Anuahac will not be able to handle the atmosphere of this game (with getting too pumped up) and play themselves out of their game. Just my opinion! Have fun and play a good game!!!! It should be a great game...wish I could be there....Is there anyway to video stream this game?

I believe Kountze does have what it takes to make it to state. They have had to get their chemistry going ealier in the season. I believe they have had to work harder and together more that the teams in the past, mostly due to expectations. They truly have all the aspects of basketball to work together and bring a championship to the town of Kountze. They have a 3-point shooter, a defensive player (even though most them can play defense), a true point guard (who can shoot as well, but his shooting game is shadowed by his assist and selfish game), a hard nose get at it player down low, and a all around player.....then they are 2-3 deep off the bench that could probably start. Like any team, they can get beat, but they have improved each and every game since the season started. I expect Kountze to play better than they did against Anuahac. The advantage to this game for Anuahac is that they are playing at home and their coach use to be the assistant at Kountze. The main disadvantage is that Kountze is a team that has played under pressure for the past 6-8 years....so they live for this type of games (so does the people of Kountze)....especially the seniors like Domingo Smith..point guard who played a lot of minutes in the state game two years ago place of Jackpot. The upset of Centerville last year that stopped K-Town from going to state is one of their motivations, and they know that they are not going to let Anuahac be a part of them not going this year. Good luck to both teams,....but I do see Kountze state-bound this year.

Ok. I have a question for anyone. Say Kountze wins Tuesday against H-J and then they turnaround and beat Silsbee on Friday....would you say they should be the #1 team in 2A or at least the #1 small school team in Southeast Texas? Would be a big confidence boost to beat the #1 3A team and the #7 (Silsbee is #7, right) 3A team in the state!!! To give you my opinion, I would not bet against Kountze.....they have nothing to lose and they are a team on a rampage to get back to state after getting beat by 1 in the regional quarterfinals.

H-J is a great team, but they will definitely have to come with it when they play Kountze. They win was against Lumberton was good, but that was with only one practive with the full squad. I know that H-J will be bouncing back from their lost, but Kountze will also be coming in with something to prove and beating the #1 team in 3A will be a big boost for their road to a great year. But, a lost is not really that bad, because they have nothing to lose. Of course, everyone is picking H-J to win, but don't be surprise if Kountze pull this one out. Overall...will be a great game and the best team that day will win, but ultimately I hope to see both teams go to team state....even though Silsbee will be a big challenge for H-J.

First real game with the football players back and only one day of practice under their belt, I think Ktz did pretty good....also, Lumberton was hyped and try hard to get that win against KTZ, so nothing taking away from their game. Also, for the fact that Ktz missed a lot of shots and still came away with 83 pts says a whole lot. Game against New Waverly next week is cancelled because of NW being in the football playoffs. Heard that Coach Joubert is going to find a replacement team for his boys to play against.

Domingo Smith from Kountze will probably shine this year. He took a backseat from shooting much last year and played a true point guard position. More assists per game than pts. You will see him score more and direct his squad with some good players in Roman everywhere, Dunn down low, Turner's defense, and McDaniel's 3 pt threat. They will be about two - three deep on the bench. Seniors will be looking to recover from last years defeat, and Domingo Smith at his point guard position will be a great example of a true point guard.

Devin Bray did move away and I believe that the team will step up even more without him. They played a heck of a game against Hardin last year and he played a total of @ 5-6 minutes. Roman took over in that game. When Bray was out of the games, 95% of the times you could not tell. This team will be mature, experienced and quick. This is a team that part of the state team as sophmores and upset last year as juniors and sophmores. They have matured and grown over the summer. Domingo Smith will be a threat this year. He seem to hold back from shooting the rock and played the true point guard position last year, but expect to see him score more this year and be the General of the team. Dunn will play with power and scrap it out down low. JJ will provide quickness and defense. They also have the sophmore who started on varsity late in the season and was draining treys like crazy...people knew he could, but waited on the coach to bring him in at the right time. Roman will be the ring leader. Expect a good adhesive basketball team that should have made it to state last year with no seniors. Even picked to win district, they are experienced and mature enough to know that any team can be beaten at any given time...and I believe that is what is going to make them harder to beat. One thing that will not be different...they are going to press @ run and gun. This will be an exciting district to watch....especially when you play in Kountze. The Lions Den is brand new and Kountze is looking to have a successful year in their new gym this year. Lets get ready to play some basketball!!!!
