  1. Per local residents he is 15 and should be in the 9th grade. If that's the case and he was a 15 year old playing against 8th graders, I'd hope he would stand out some. This has to be a hardcore Hardin fan or coach right here with this statement.....
  2. Unfortunately it’s the typical small school issues. talent comes in waves good coaches are just using it as a stepping stone for some reason, a majority of the parents and kids out here think that just showing up for mandatory practices and workouts are enough to make your program successful.
  3. Throw Tarkington back into the ring again. AD has resigned.
  4. Absolutely they are not. I'm not sure if the person who said they were actually saw both teams play in person but my guess is he is strictly making that observation off of records or scores/wins vs what he considers comparable opponents to last year. Last years team started 4 seniors and made a run into the second round where had Dibol not of broken one of their shooter's arms during the second quarter on a loose ball by absolutely running him over they may have moved on to the 3rd round. That was I believe only the 3rd time ever that they made it that deep for Tarkington. That being said beating Lumberton is always a good thing and I sure wish their coach could have been there to lose his mind for it.
  5. Last night Horns were down by double digits twice and came back to win. They lost 4 starting seniors from last year but Coach Sizemore has them playing hard. Great job Horns!
  6. I was videoing, I tried to post it but it’s too big. I will see if I can cut it to put it on here. Some Summer Creek fans and I watched it again and all that watched it agreed it was still in his hand when the light came on. I don’t have a bias, just glad I was there to watch a fantastic game. Coming from 3A basketball that was as physical of a game I’ve watched in high school. There was complaining from both sides but in honesty the refs were just letting them play unless blood was drawn so to speak.
  7. The only problem with all of these accounts is they are based on other people's accounts. I was there and have no bias to either of the schools. I was right in front of where it all "went down". The HJ kid was already frustrated and when the ball got tied up and the Huffman kid would not give it up, the HJ kid slung him into the wall and started a melee of punches at him. The Huffman kid was completely thrown off and was trying to get him off. Yes the Huffman fans ran onto the court and most definitely shouldn't have. That being said they did not engage anyone and were quickly separated from the situation. The Huffman and HJ players both quickly got there as well and did a pretty good job of separating the kids and themselves from the other team. Other than the HJ kid throwing punches and the coaches shouting back and forth at each other there wasn't much action in all of it. The HJ kid in my opinion should have been suspended. Frustration is no excuse for how he handled that.
  8. Watched first half, was really surprised to see Coldsprings in it as much as they were considering all I have been hearing about how good East Chambers was. That game would have been really interesting had Coldsprings still had their big kid. Watched him play a few times this year and he was pretty dominant in the paint. I don’t think EC would have had anyone to manage him.
  9. He broke his arm in two places. Kid was a decent role player for them and he had just knocked down a 3. What’s worse is no foul called and they got a layup out of the play. When clearly the Diboll player grabbed all arm and essentially took him to the ground hard. That particular referee was HORRIBLE all night. Fouled out Tarkington’s best defensive player on a block with less 2 mins left and Horns only down by one.
  10. FYI, Tarkington @ New Waverly today 2:30pm makeup district game due to Covid
  11. You would be incorrect. They never stopped pressing. Honestly the game should have been much closer. Tarkington missed a ton of shots around the rim. Coldsprings’ big man was the deciding factor in that game. He had a ton of rebounds and put backs.
  12. TF was for HJ #22 walking over the top of HH #40 that he knocked down and scored on. All the while talking the whole time he did it. It was a shame too, because 22 is a strong fundamental player, but he missed the rest of the first half because of it. Unbiased opinion, it was probably the right call at the time to keep the game under control.
