I said last week that Crosby has a very good team. Their D line will be the best Carthage will face the rest of the year.

The Dawg D did what they do. 88 yard fumble returned for TD. 55 yard INT returned for TD. Both Dawg QB’S threw touchdown passes. Still missing two O linemen. Hopefully have O line at full strength in three weeks when the Dawgs play their next game which will be number 2 Gilmer.

The Dawgs will have both running backs returning this week and maybe two of the O linemen, that should solve the problem of our QB from being blindsided from the back side on pass plays. The Dawgs had zero yards rushing last week. That has never happened in Dawg football history. Missing four O linemen and both running backs definitely accounted for the problems in the run game. The Dawg defense was put in a terrible position in the first half because of the 5 turnovers. The bright side is the 426 yards passing. I look for a totally different Dawg team on the field tonight. Taking nothing away from Crosby, I don’t think the Dawgs will face a better D line than Crosby the rest of the year. I cannot call a score on this game until I see for sure how many O linemen are returning. I will take my Dawgs by 10 because of the unknown and because of the Dawg D is the best in all of 4A.

Had over 400 hundred passing Crosby had total 209 now who had the best defense on the field.

Don’t know, I haven’t seen Aledo play this year. like I have always said, the Dawgs could play with Aledo and most years Aledo would win, but 2008, 2017, 2019 and 2020 my money would have been on the Dawgs.

Just be glad the O line was missing 4 starters and starting tailback. It could have been much worse.

Where is the Aledo guy. I remember all he could say is this ain’t Marshall the Dawgs are playing. The Dawgs beat a very good team with their J V O line third string running back. Can’t say enough about The heart of these Dawgs.

I think this is the best team we have played in a long time. Maybe whitehouse the year they had Mahones. Crosby is very good. Great athletes.

I think they are doing the best they can against a very good defense. Those boys were just brought up from the JV except number 55. They will be really good next the next two years.

Believe me when I tell you Carthage has always had outstanding offensive linemen. Produce D1 every year. 2019 had the number 5 tackle in the nation. Went to LSU

Just read in the Carthage paper (Panola Watchmen) Carthage will be missing many starters due to COVID. Coach Surratt said a lot of young players will be getting experience against a very good team. Coach Surratt said the Dawgs won’t play another team this year with the speed and said they are very athletic. He mentioned several of their players and how good they were. He said the Dawgs will playing both QB’S and said the Dawgs will have to play really good to win.

You do make comments about Carthage every chance you get. you got butt hurt when the computer said Carthage would have beat Aledo 28 to 24 in 2019. The Dawgs o line averaged 318 pounds with 6’ 4” QB that threw over 40 touch downs. The Dawgs would not win most years against Aledo but 2008, 2017, 2019 and with last years O line and defense. My money would have been on the Dawgs. Your turn.

Last years 4 A state championship runner up to Argyle. Lindale never made a first down on the starting D in the scrimmage.

You might want to YouTube the Dawg defense from last year. They return 3 D linemen, 3 linebackers, one of which is a 5 star linebacker, 2 D backs add in number 20 and 80 that played in every game as relief players not back ups. The Dawg starters allowed 4 points a game.

No infatuation, just a lot of respect for Aledo tradition. Would love to see a non district game between the two power houses.

Marshall, whiteHouse, Jacksonville, we play 5A teams every year since coach Surratt has been at Carthage in non district games.

That is a dumb statement. Go back and watch the state championship games and make that statement again. Carthage O line in 2020 was better than Aledo, the defense was dang sure better. The 2017 team was better at almost every position. The Dawgs play 5 A teams all the time and beat them. Most years the Dawgs could not beat Aledo but compete with them, with out question.

In most years you would be right but dang sure not every year. 2008,, 2017, and 2020 would have been a toss up. 2021 remains to be seen especially with the defense the Dawgs put on the field this year.

No it would not, what would be nice is a non district game with Aledo. This year would have been a perfect year to play with the defense the Dawgs return to the field. Last year the starters allowed 4.5 points a game. I expect them to allow even fewer points per game this year. They will be bigger, stronger, and faster. The QB is 6ft 4 and 210 with an absolute cannon throwing to three returning starters. I think Crosby is going to be a great game for the Dawgs and give our QB great test.

Carthage gets accused of it all the time. Build a program, they will come.
