  1. West Sabine is fair this year. If they get healthy I think they could play well enough to have a chance at the playoffs. Of course, the district runs though Timpson and Joaquin is very good, outside of those two all others are beatable for West Sabine. WS has a very athletic QB and 2 good receivers along with a very strong running back. If the o-line can improve and if the defense can tighten up a little I think they can play with Grapeland, San Augustine, Shelbyville, and Garrison.
  2. Hemphill is pretty stout up front with 3 good RB's and an athletic QB. The QB can run and throw, he has 3 good receivers. Defensively the DL and LB's are pretty solid. The secondary is yet to be tested but they are athletic. This is the most complete team that Hemphill has fielded in many years. With that being said, their 3 wins are over 3 average to decent 2A D1 teams. Shelbyville is pretty good but I think Kirbyville will be Hemphill's toughest test to date. I think Hemphill should win but you never know until the final whistle has blown.
  3. Hemphill is pretty good this year. WS isn't very good but not too bad for 2A D1. Average.
  4. Hemphill is up 30-0 with 8:17 left in the 2nd quarter.
  5. I do agree! Gotta show me it can be done before I will believe it can be, but not taking anything away from Woodville, New Waverly and Hemphill both are really good this year!
  6. Will this be the first year in the new testament time that Newton doesn't win district? New Waverly and Hemphill have really good teams this year!
  7. Give me a day or two to get this together for you!
  8. The 4Horesmen are the sasquatch of Setxsports!!!!
  9. Well,.maybe its just a bad game for Tenaha
  10. Evidently, Kountze is horrible OR the 4-Horsemen are back!

  12. Newton in a woodsheding, homie!!
  13. I want to start this by saying that Kirbyville is a nice place and the people are very welcoming. Last night I attended the varsity boys playoff game in Kirbyville between Hemphill and Kountze. Both teams played hard which resulted in overtime. There was something bad wrong with the gymnasium floor that was causing players to slip and fall. It was probably from sweat dripping from the players but I'm not sure that this was the only problem as it happened all throughout the game. If it was solely due to excessive perspiration that was because it was extremely hot in the gym and they refused to turn on the AC. I will tell you that these kids were visibly perspiring worse than any I have ever seen on the court. An admin from each school pleaded with the admin from KV to turn on the AC to no avail. Conservatively speaking I would say that between the 2 teams there were at least 30 times that players slipped and fell. Many times it would be in space with no defenders around. Heck twice players slipped down just trying to inbound the ball. This is the guy that is standing out of bounds! How does he slip????? Before the game was over there were multiple players (from both teams) limping due to slips. At one point a Kountze player completely alone on one end of the floor slipped falling on the back of his head and Hemphill's best athlete had to come out for several minutes due to a slip and fall injury. My advice to teams progressing through the playoffs is to stay away from the Kirbyville gym.
