I’m not Hardin faithful but I can’t understand your logic. Stevie Wonder can see that Buna and Hardin are in different stratosphere’s athletically, much less equal. I’m not sure of your angle on this unless you’re a big Larry Haynes supporter. I’m the one who said Ned Barrier wouldn’t be outcoached this year last week. And considering the void in talent Hardin is playing with I’m pretty sure that’s still the case. The last two times Hardin and Buna have played the average score has been 49-7. That includes a 28-0 shutout and a 70-14 loss to Buna in 2018 when Hardin had a 7-4 record and made the playoffs. So if Hardin’s most successful recent team gets smashed by a 3rd place Buna 70-14.... I’d think a really untalented Hardin team getting beat by a 2nd place (most likely) Buna team 26-0 is progress. Barring the scoop and score and Hornet TD that was called back it sounds like it could’ve even been a little closer on the scoreboard. You’ve gotta run before you can walk. And as far as i saw Against Anahuac and HD in person and film against Hearne, the kids are playing in the right positions. Potetz can play QB/RB/WR. Put him anywhere and he can play. Other than him the little QB is probably the best athlete on the team but he’s not capable of being a lead RB. He throws the ball well and is getting better. Potetz at full time QB just doesn’t make sense on this team because every team can key on him from the snap no questions asked. They try to move him around from deep i-back to split wide, in the slot and wildcat QB. When you’ve got one dynamic playmaker only you’ve gotta move him around to attempt to get him in space or second level. They’ve got decent size on the O-Line including Thonsgard who plays hard. The big TE can block and get get downfield with a big target zone. The little WR’s don’t offer a ton after the catch but they block well and run good routes. So I’m not sure who’s playing out of position. If they give Barrier a few years he can help build a program. It WILL NOT happen overnight and folks already questioning his coaching really don’t know what goes into building a winning team and program. So some Hardin folks might be missing Larry Haynes, but the ones who know what they’re watching don’t miss him at all.

Yep, the Rebels smoked HD that last meeting in 2017. Evadale was pretty solid that year and lost to Grapeland 27-28 in the first round. HD lost to Timpson in the first round 57-36. Timpson went on to beat Grapeland in the 3rd round on their way to the regional final. 2016 was a really exciting year while HD and Evadale shared a district. HD beat Evadale in a shootout 48-46. The Rebels beat Iola but the bulldogs beat HD creating a three way tie for the district championship. Evadale got the #2 seed and beat Timpson in the first round before falling to Maud in the area round finishing 10-2 on the season. HD fell 33-18 to Overton in the first round as the #3 seed. Iola made it to the regional semis representing the district as the top seed before running into buzzsaw Tenaha.

Yes it was bad. 2017. HD won a shootout with the Rebs the year before that. Torres, Williams and Mackey are no longer there tho. That 2016-2017 rebel team was pretty loaded.

Yeah that must be it. Evadale has won 3 games out of the 16 total matchups all time. It’s hard for us to sleep at night knowing we’ve been dominated by Evadale and only have a 13-3 all-time record against them

After last week’s flag fiasco I’ll have to pass on that bet. HD by 18 is what i feel Confident in. Will not be surprised if it’s closer to HD by 30+

Anyone picking Evadale in this game (and is actually serious about that prediction) has fallen off their rocker. My suspicion is either you guys haven’t watched Evadale and/or HD play, or everyone just hates on 55 so much you want HD to lose (and trust me, i get that). The reality is, this game will not be close. Evadale has one of their worst teams in the past 10 years talent-wise and HD one of their more talented teams in the past decade. Yes they’re young, and yes Evadale will be well coached and has made the playoffs 14 years in a row. That won’t matter in about 34 hours. If HD comes out flat, has multiple turnovers, and somehow has more penalties than last week, it might look close on the scoreboard, but the Rebels still won’t win. If HD plays their game it’ll be a running clock by the 4th quarter. Evadale will not compete with HD or DV this year. Burkville vs Evadale for 3rd in district will be a closer game than HD vs Evadale this year. Even with Broussard out for a half, he’ll get some mop up carries in the 3rd quarter that really won’t have an impact on the game by that point. Please serve me up the biggest batch of fried crow you can find if I’m wrong, but regardless of how well each team plays, this won’t be closer than a 3 score game with HD dropping the hammer.

I know he’d appreciate that. Bryce is a good kid and one of the few seniors. #32 is a load running the ball, yalls QB is solid and makes plays and that little #1 is a heck of a ball player (on both sides of the ball). Reminds me a lot of an old DV Pirate from about 25 years ago.... Logan Moore. And so much for DV not being bigger than HD!! We got manhandled in the trenches and gave up about 40lbs a kid on average if i had to guess. TE to TE across that offensive line in that slot-T is plenty of cornfed boys lol
