  1. Freshman Dawson Victorian with his 2nd TD run from 24yards out. 2pt attempt fails. HD - 14 Danbury - 8 5:56 3rd qtr
  2. I think they got a move in from Dayton that had several carries last week and is a good little player. The kids I’m referring to are local kids who’s parents played at HD. The freshman/sophomore group this year won district as 8th graders both years and that was against the likes of San Augustine, Groveton and other pretty solid teams from the last alignment. Don’t hold me to it but pretty sure HD’s 8th grade team is 19-1 in the last two years. Problem is there’s not a ton of 11th/12th graders in the program that pull it together. Also the skill kids have hit the ground running at the varsity level but the big freshmen linemen are still not there yet and aren’t starting. 2021 and 2022 look very promising for HD especially if they stay at the D2 level next realignment. This year they’ll make the playoffs, compete for the district title but don’t see a ton past that.
  3. I know the four horsemen will always be a famous punchline as long as this forum is around..... but the truth is HD has a few super talented skill position players. They’re freshmen and sophomores but these are kids that would contribute at the 3A/4A level now and would be all-district/district MVP type players in a couple years. That’s the truth. Most of the really talented kids that HD has had has moved on to greener pastures and have done well (the Harrell brothers to Huffman and then to KU and Arkansas, the Peterson brothers to Goose Creek Memorial/Liberty/Beaumont Westbrook etc). These kids are as good or potentially better than those boys. We shall see
  4. Congrats to the Hornets and Coach Barrier for getting his first win in Hardin. Those young Bobcats showed a lot tonight and they’ll be a handful in their 2A-D2 district this fall.
  5. Bobcats falling apart. Hornets hold HD and force punt. Snap goes over the head of HD punter and Hardin takes over on Bobcat 9yard line. 2 plays later Potetz punches it in from 8 yards out. XP blocked. Hardin - 25 HD - 8 10:10 4th qtr HD just not the same without their quarterback.
  6. Bobcats QB Landon Sellers out for 2nd half. Broussard moves to QB. HD shoots themselves in the foot with 2 false starts, a holding penalty and a block in the back on the drive. Hornets take over on own 32. 3 plays later Austin Potetz breaks one open for 55 yard TD. xp blocked Hardin - 19 HD - 8
  7. Hardin should win just based on numbers. They’re 3 divisions higher (3A-D1 vs 2A-D2) but I think it’ll be a competitive game. Hardin’s line will most likely control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball but HD surprisingly has some really solid young skill players. If all those freshmen grew up over the past year they have a good shot at surprising people (still think they’re a year or two away from making some noise in the D2 playoffs). On the other hand, Hardin is... Hardin 🤷🏻‍♂️ HD - 34 Hardin - 26
