I wish we would play again soon. WO-S has beat us everytime, but we got play-off ready. I think that about half the time it helped WO-S also. If it doesn't help them or us, why play. Kirbyville can put us down all they want but there players and coaches know we are a pretty goood team. This is about Newton and WO-S and I hope we can play each other again, preferably in the first week or so due to tropical storms and the big H.

Rankings in h.s. are for fans like me. The truth is you get to brag and beat on your chest when you are ranked high, but the A. P. hasn't won a h. s. game that i know of yet. The rankings are more for fans. Look at Muleshoe, i don't know if they were ever ranked last year. Kinda flew under the radar. As for Newton and Kirbyville, I hope they both win state. I say WO-S 16-14 in mud bowl. Muddy field is big equalizer,speedsters on both sides will have to run with control. I like both schools and anything can happen especially on a wet field. As long as no-one gets hurt, this game should help both team get better. Good luck K-ville.

i feel liike we shouldn't count out any team that has heart as E C does. we had a hard fought game against a good C-C team until they ran out of gas. C-C is a good team and i think E C will be also.i think both programs deserve respect.

For all you Newton haters and Barbay haters I will tell you this. Barbay has a way of saying things that come off bad sometimes like we have not played anyone very good yet. I played for Barbay and was a blue chip that had many articles and was pursued by many schools. I did play college football and in Texas football magazine Curtis was quted as saying I could be a good player but I was not their yet. I was all-state,all-distic,and named to the greater houston team. Barbay's level of thinking is very different than the average coach if he says a player and or team is ok they should take it as a complament, if he says they have not played anybody any good it is not disrespect they just have measured up to what he considers good.

the newton-daingerfield game. this game definetly had some slober-nocker hits from both teams and was close to the end.we knew it would be for state and no one else came close to beating daingerfield in the play-offs. i hate we lost but both teams knew they had been in a war . we had our chances.[ good game, good teams ]

I have watched football for 45 years and I don't think I have seen a worse officiated game! Not sour grapes, just bad officiating. Should be turned into UIL.
