Someone bumped me about mentioning penalties. It is costing PAM.

I think this game comes down to if PAM can avoid the penalties and discipline errors that have made some games closer than they should be this year. PAM has been able to overcome those situations so far to stay undefeated. Smithson Valley is very disciplined and do not make error that beat themselves. If PAM plays a disciplined game and few penalties, they can win this game.

Lufkin knocked off Killeen, North Shore, Klein Oak and Grand Oaks to win the Grand Oaks Tourney. The Panthers are 7-1, will open district against Whitehouse on Tuesday, then head to Utah to play in the Lehi Holiday Hoopfest against Corners Canyon and Timpview Utah schools. Lufkin's only loss this year is to #16 in the nation Owasso, OK.

Then again you guys didn't even skate by Sterling at all did you? No matter. I get where your coming from, I'm not blind to Lufkin's inefficiencies during the season. Think everyone in 9-5A DI has their work cut out for them this week.

It's funny that Massey pick's this way since Barbers Hill and Lufkin finished with the same record of 7-3 and 4-2 in district, and both took a beat down loss to PAM. Lufkin defeated the #2 team Westbury from 10-5A on the road, while took down #3 Waltrip at The Hill. Regardless that Barbers Hill beat Lufkin at their place, while BH lost to Sterling who didn't even make the playoffs. Both schools could probably debate those loses as some sort of strange occurrence at the time, however both lost big at home to PAM. Just the way I think, because Lufkin is not the same team that rolled in BH that first district game, they were then still learning totally new systems on both sides of the ball. Then again matchups are everything in the playoffs. Still believe PAM is the top dog as long as everyone is healthy. A split or even a sweep either way would not surprise me in this round of the playoffs.

Lufkin won 42-14 @ Nacogdoches 2nd game of the year in non-district, then the Dragons went on to be 6-1 before they were beat in district. They are a young team that has some raw talent. No match at all for PNG in the first round, then again it's the first time NAC has made the playoffs since 2021 and they were picked in pre-season to finish 6th in a very tough district. So there are two positives for their program before this game is even played. Baby step for them trying to build something.

Then NO on the HISD, we would not accept that placing. I'd rather go back Region II before that happens. On another note, thought everyone had until Nov 7th to turn in their enrollment? Barbers Hill is still not posted. They are not the only ones that are not listed by DCTF list.

If you mean Houston ISD, NO NO NO. If you mean Humble ISD then Okay.

Unfortunate for West Brook on such a promising season to start the year. I really thought they would have a great opportunity to finish 2nd in district this year. They were never the same after the OT loss to Lufkin. That was a tough game for both schools that night, a game either team could have easily won.

Take it from someone who has seen a ton of playoff football, anyone can be a roadblock in the playoffs. Have experienced it and seen it, one game at a time is good advice. Play who is in front of you, then let some of the other guys knock each other off. One thing you learn, you can't choose who you play.

That is the problem, two different sized steps going up, I've seen several fall over the years, one a 80 year old fell there about 5 years ago about row 30, hit his head on the seats and concrete, EMT had to carry him down and he passed away the next day. Saw a coach from Oak Ridge slip and fall out of the booth at halftime about 10 years ago and almost land on some fans below him, I kept him from rolling a couple more rows. Stuff just like that, it's amazing it hasn't happened more often..

I agree that the Lufkin press box has been inadequate a long time and very NON ADA compliant. We finally have some leadership that realizes that and are about to have a vote in May, 2026 to solve that problem. I have had seats right there at the top close to one of the press box doors for the past 32 years, have probably watched AggiesWeAre lug that equipment up those steps. Have assisted many to get into or get out of the press box who were unable access on their own. It's not a safe entry, I've said for two decades it's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

DCTF/Pigskin Prep computer pick has P A Memorial a +17 point favorite over Lufkin. DCTF Matt Stepp has P A Memorial a +7 point favorite at Lufkin. Massy Ratings has PAM a +18 point favorite vs Lufkin. You can trash the -5 for PAM, I think that was some pre season pick DCTF does. All of these different spreads are so confusing, just have to play the game.

I think the anomaly is PAM is better than Longview this year alone IMO. In fact, I think PAM and Angleton are the best two teams in 5A DI Region III. Better than LaPorte, Weiss, AMC and Anderson.

You have to take this analysis based on the last 4 games by Lufkin. PAM will be hard to beat , this is their year IMO, they will go as far as the talent they have will take them.

Calling for 60% chance of rain Friday night in Lufkin and 60 degrees at kickoff.

They have been dinged up a bit, everyone is this time of the year.

Well, maybe all of that will be alleviated in a couple years. Long over due.
