1. looks like a good even match up.  common opponents: Diboll  Center 38  Diboll 0  (35-0 halftime,  pulled off in second half) Jasper 45  Diboll 0  (not sure about halftime score) Carthage Carthage 45  Center 29  (Carthage scored last play of game to make 45 and kicked a 42 yd. field goal on the last play of first half.  10 pts with no time on the clock) Carthage 49  Jasper 31  (Jasper scores late to make 31, but had the lead in the third quarter 24-21.  Center never led in their game.) Huntington This game does not count, both teams played their JVs most of the game. The game is in Center.  The last three meetings have Gone to the home team each time, with Jasper winning two very close games and the game in Center was not very close.  Looks like this one could be one of the better games in week 10.  Good luck to both teams and may they come out of it injury free so they can represent the district well in the playoffs.
2. [ That is what everybody the last five years has said.  You better be ready, they are a machine on offense. quote author=Trocket link=topic=104976.msg1307432#msg1307432 date=1350946611]

I believe Jasper will win this one and the district. Jasper 32 Carthge 17
I doubt when the game is over there will be a number as small as 17 beside Carthage's name on their "small" scoreboard.  They are too good on offense.  Just check the last 5 years results.
We're not talking about the last 5 years, I thought we were talking about Friday Night. ::)
4. He was ejected for cussing the official, 99.99999% sure of that.
5.
They've had a pretty weak schedule. But, that's not to say the team is weak. We shall see Friday.
I think all of the big 3 in this district have played pretty week schedules.  Carthage has played the toughest but lindale and chapel hill are down this year and jacksonville is average, but whitehouse is legit for sure.  Jaspers schedule has been very week as well other than WOS.  I think there is no doubt that carthage is the #1 team and over the past few seasons jasper and center have played some tough games with jasper squeaking out wins at home and getting beat in center.  Could be an interesting district.
6. he does not have to stay there and just teach.  there are plenty of coaching jobs out there.  Im pretty sure he had a job before he came to jasper and he can get another one.
7. Im not from Jasper so I do understand your point of wanting to know exactly what happened to change the "vision" or exactly whose "vision" might have been blurred here.
8. Sounds like he wanted a 5A program at a 3A school that is not the richest in the state.  I think maybe the Admin did what was right by the taxpayers and were going to have people on the payroll do more than just sit in classrooms and do nothing.  What is wrong with coaches "teaching" in a classroom?  Sounds like to me that the Admin had the right idea on this one and someone just took his ball and went home.  The admin must have the vision for the entire school district (and contrary to popular belief education does come first) and not just the athletic side of it and any employee of the district that does not share that should go look for a job elsewhere.  Someone tell me just what the "Admin" did wrong here.
9. Two representatives from the Football booster organization...can you say 10ft pole......
10. Some people on here are talking about "now" having to replace four or five coaches.  From what I have been hearing those other guys were already looking to leave and if they do leave now it has nothing to do with Morgan resigning but it will look like that from the outside.  Who knows maybe they will all stay now.
11. Heard the kid from Center threw a No Hitter, striking out 14 and only allowing 2 to reach base and one of those was a passed ball on a strikeout.
12. Know for a fact that Jasper's Freshmen lost to Center and that Center's fresh did not lose to anyone else in district, but they probably did beat everyone else. But overall the did a great job in Jasper this year considering the mess that their inheirited from the last coach.
13. I would venture to say the the twine boys can start for any team at any level in the entire Sabine County.
14. Good for coach Alvarez...heard that job pays $100k-$105K.
15. You mean the one that is not even listed on the EC website as a football coach?
16. Who??  Did those boys play with Ben Wilkerson, Keldrick Holman, Willis Washington, Leon Maxie, Ed Henson, Larron Singleton, Scott Morgan or Aaron French?  I think all of these guys went on to play college football, one is a Remington Award winner and went to the NFL.  I guess the Todd boys must have come sometime after this group came through or way before them during the Evan's years where they always underachieved.
17. congratulations on those Super Bowl wins, especially three of them.  when is the pee wee hall of fame induction?
18. Has jasper changed their offense?  what are they doing to score all those points now?
19. both are 7 man fronts, it all depends on your personell and your personal preference.
20. when those guys were here they did win some games. the dawgs just don't have that kind of talent running around at the moment. these are not the dawgs of old..i dont think anyone in the program can break 11 flat. just average kiddos at the moment. at some point in time you have to quit living in the past in just root for the kids you have.
21. looks like they may be looking again in a couple of years......hasnt grown roots anywhere. good luck to all involved here.
22. the board should have nothing to do with it. they should accept the person put before them by the search committee. now i know how small town boards are, but the board should not be involved in the search that is not their job. but that would explain why this has taken so long.
23. What is the problem with selecting a coach. To me this is not a great sign of things to come from the new superintendent, this is the first big decision since he has been hired and it has taken 3 months when other schools can get the entire process done in 3-4 weeks. There are alot of people lives being affected by this and it should not take this long. I will be very suprised if something is done tomorrow, will be more like next friday than this friday. It is almost like they are trying to drag this out just so they can get people to continue to talk about it, and i guess it is working because here i am talking about it.
24. wow,,that job is still open?? what has it been 4 months now? we elect presidents faster than that.
25. and the 80K i heard they were offering will not hurt either.
