1. yes, it is true that Mr. Summer's is retiring. I just hate that the McDaniels may be leaving as well. We need more coaches in Deweyville but would be nice to keep the ones we have too!!!
 2. Losing Coach McDaniel is not what is best for Deweyville for many reasons. One of those being that he is a really good teacher who the students in his class look up to. He does a good job teaching these students and making learning fun for them. He does the best he can with what we have to work with in Deweyville. Praying the rumor isn't true and that he and his wife stay in Deweyville. If they leave we not only lose him in the classroom but we lose one heck of a good science teacher in his wife as well.
 3. anyone think there may be a coaching change for this program next year?

Who was supposed to be keeping track of number of transfers?????
 5.

I know the UIL allows you to play up in classification.  What about instituting a buffer of maybe 5 or 10 students that allows you to play down?  It seems like its a hard number and in Deweyville's case they got hosed because they had 2 extra kids.  Does 2 kids make that it worth all of the money they will spend and time these kids have to be away from the classroom?!?  School is still supposed to be about education first, right?
Amen PhatMack, I totally agree.
I know that people will say that athletes make the choice to play sports so they have to deal with what academics throws at them too BUT certainly kids can't be expected to do homework and study for test on nights they will be out so late!!!! Anyone have any idea how this will be handled?

Makes sense to me  NOT!
I agree totally, in this time of budget cuts the District travel for Deweyville was already terrible now with the additional of Anderson-Shiro its down right obscene.
I don't think Anderson-Shiro plays football.  I know they have a basketball team
Just looked at their school website and they have football.
 7. I guess they will cut even more teachers or coaches to be able to afford to travel to these ridiculous places!!!!
Also a possible 3 hr road trip to play at Anderson-Shiro in District, man can we get a break.  :o
They can still appeal this.  Not sure it will help, but it's worth a shot.
I posted this to another topic on this board today: Travel in this District is brutal, for Dewyville to play at  New Waverly = 135 miles, Corrigan Camden = 125 miles, Hemphill = 110 miles and Groveton = 140 miles, all one way numbers.  Anderson-Shiro is between Brenham and Huntsville on FM-149 approx 175 mile trip.
Deweyville wishes they had 2 less students about now. DEWEYVILLE HS                      201    2A GARRISONHS                          201    2A BENBOLT-‐PALITOBLANCOHS    199    1A
I vote for a do over, lol.
I vote that when they say they are going to cap the transfer students to keep enrollment under 200 that maybe they should do what they say!!!! STUPID mistake on their part!!!!

 10. WOW is an understatement here. What is the point of running up a score like that on a team regardless of who it is? I think that coaches have lost sight of sportsmanship in my opinion. I know there are plenty out there that will disagree with me but that is why we are all allowed our own opinion. It is hard to tell a group of athletes to keep their heads up when they are beat down like this. JMO
