Well, this is it for the regular season. We had the tools to make a run for district title, but we didn't. I hope we can use this game to change up our game plans to get ready for the playoffs. Any thoughts from the group? Go Oilers!!!!!

I said this in a different topic, but thought it was worth saying in this on to: I don't mind saying we got whooped, it was a great defensive game for the first half. I thought it could be a low scoring game overall at the half, but HD made some good adjustments and wore out our defense. Cook is a beast, he is strong and elusive. Our problem is we don't change our game plans, that was evident versus Evadale and then against HD. We had WR's open on short slants all night, but either we ran it or looked for the deep ball about 95% of the time. The few times we did throw short, Copeland fired a cannon shot like he was trying to knock our guys out. Overall, I believe our boys did a good job, they just got tired in the 2nd half. We had 11 players on the sideline that didn't even touch the field. I know it's about winning, but at what cost!!! Let your underclassmen come in for a few plays to give starters a breather. If we can't learn to adjust to the game, then we're doomed in the playoffs. Congrats to HD on a fine win, I was very happy to see great sportsmanship by both teams through out the game. It's always fun to stir the pot and talk smack before a rivalry game. See ya'll next year!

With Hurricane Ike mess with our kids football schedules, when should we expect to see the playoff brackets posted? I saw on the UIL website that Bi-District games start Nov 13-15, anyone know something about it?

That's what I'm talkin bout baby!! I can't wait to see Lil Gilmore light up some Oilers. If the intensity remains how it is right now, it's gonna be nasty > All I'm hearing from you guys is "Blah, blah, blah". Ya'll can talk all the crap you want on here, but when it's all done, the only thing that matters is what those young men do on the football field and the final score. I like the Daisetta Bobcats vs the West Hardin Oilers in 23-1A. District was won by Evadale, so congrats to them. This game should determine second place for the district.

Read a little and you will see we all are saying the Oilers don't have a chance. You've got a running back & we have a quarterback! Take those two boys out of the picture and I believe that WH has the better overall talent, especially on defense. I don't want to get into a pissing contest with anyone, so I'll let our boys do the talking on Friday night! See ya'll there! Go Oilers!!!

Surely Westfall will take something from the beating we took from Evadale and change it up a little on offense. Defense side, we need to tackle better. What the heck is up with all those dang arm tackles? If our boys can't start hitting, then Cook could be in for a big game. Cook is playing right? I'm not just bashing here, I do think our defense is pretty dang good. I just hope the offense can start spreading the ball around. My last rant... Why don't we let some of the underclassmen get in for a few plays here and there through out the game to give our starters a breather? I know there are a few freshmen that can catch the ball and some that can tackle fairly well. We had at least 10 players on the sideline that didn't even touch the field.
