  1. D-plane, D-plane....Alto would give them ALL they want and then some.
  2. Garry Perry was fast also but not Loftin fast.
  3. Very simple solution to a crappy OC....fire Hooks. Doubt the community would be very happy about it though.
  4. I think the one you're looking for is at www.edtracy.com , if not i will look some more.
  5. Whewww....sure glad it turned out the way it did.... ;D Dawgs need to put last week behind them and focus on making the playoffs. Lots of talent on that Jasper team and once they get the kinks worked out they very well could be the spoiler in district.
  6. Burkville is terrible this year...Deweyville by 28. It's easy to talk about getting larger classification schools to play in predistrict but unless the smaller school has the reputation and ability to make it a game, most larger school won't play. I do however feel that when a program is starting to turn around and the kids are LEARNING to win, stronger and bigger teams need to be played. Small, weak teams build confidence and larger, stronger schools make you better and ready for the playoffs.
  7. How did Kelly get so good so fast? I remember Newton playing them about 3-4 or 5 yrs ago and they were pitifully (is that a word?) out matched. Pendland ran wild on them all night.
  8. I played in the same district with Alto and Groveton back in the mid-late 80's and Loftin was a HOSS, he still holds the 200 meter record at the region 3 meet. I also ran track against him from the 7th grade until graduation and he could fly, never did beat him by the way. He was a good guy and a team player. Last I saw of him he was returning kicks for the Cardinals. Brings back good memories......
  9. I still hate the spread offense and wish Jasper would go to something different in order to utilize that big O line. Anyway, Newton looked much improved and played like a totally different team than they did against Crockett. IMO Crockett was not as good as Jasper and Jasper should do well once district starts. Good game Eagles and lets go Dawgs!
  10. Keep seeing people say how fast Silsbee is but don't overlook the fact that Newton has a little speed also. If Silsbee can slow the run, don't think they can stop it, it will be a close game due to depth in the 4th quarter. If they don't slow it down it will be a long night for them. Newton by 12
  11. I've trained a couple over the years and I learned that once a dog stops responding you need to take him back to the beginning of his training and refresh the basics for a week or two. Only after he is responding and mastering the basic commands do you advace to the next step. I use an E collar on my lab that I have now and rarely do I turn it on. She will run triple blinds on land and water but likes to cheat sometimes, great hunting dog though.
  12. You're right Hup.,this game is the next best thing to the playoffs. Great for the kids involved and both communities as a whole.
  13. Sure I'll admitt the butt whoopin....but I don't see that happening. ;D
  14. If the Eagles will show up and play Newton style football I'll take them by 7. If they play like they did against Crockett, I'll take Jasper by 24.
  15. I agree, Crockett is average at best. Both teams looked like crap to me and it was the worst performance by Newton in a LONG, LONG time.
  16. Will do....just hope I can stay AWAY from the grizzlies
  17. Two more weeks until it's off to Wyoming for 9 day pack in for Elk and Mulies.....counting the minutes. ;D
  18. Carthage is improved over last yr and will give Kirbyvill ALL they want. Carthage by 21
  19. Crockett always has talent and plenty of hosses in the stable. I understand that Newton will be without at least 3 of their defensive starters also, DL DE and CB.
  20. Newton has SEVERAL key injuries but will still give a quality Crockett team a good run.
  21. I vote for any of the kickers from Jasper or Newton!!! ;D
