I know for sure Deweyville and Memorial are in it and I think WO-S is also not sure about the rest.  Does anyone know what game the Howell kid from Deweyville will pitch in this weekend???

[/quote] Buna has a very solid team, I have seen them play up close and personal and all their players are very well rounded.  They should repeat as champs. I definitely believe Howell has what it takes to pitch at the next level, he has the physical makeup, the big hands, arm length and height you want on a pitcher and he has the drive and determination you want in an athlete.  I don't quite understand why you would rip into 2 coaches and say that Deweyville and Kountze do not have the coaches they need for this district?  I know first hand how good of a coaching job that Coach Cupples does.  He definitely knows his baseball, especially when it comes to pitching.  He has brought teams to the playoffs and been coach of the year before, not to mention playing on the professional level as well. So unless you plan on getting into the coaching ranks I would leave the second guessing alone.

I am ready for some lamar baseball, can't wait for the tourney next weekend.

Crosby was horrible when hanyes took that job and then haynes makes playoffs in his first yr at crosby, this is how i see it ...haynes has about 10  more yrs left of coaching  and it seems to me he wants to come back around this area and retire here so this would be a perfect situation for him. Everyone saw what flannigan did at  crosby with those stud athletes and he should have done better, both coaches would be good but haynes has by far the best experience and resume, and has won at the 5a level already.

This was supposed to be fannett yr to make some noise!! liberty was good last yr and i thought this yrs team wasn't as good as last yr, but coach bickham does a great job!!!

Fannett is a heck of a team, losing in the 1st round to a down liberty team uncalled for, this fannett team is a yr older this yr and last yr they went farther in the playoffs!!

No it doesn't, proves that fannett coach has tons of talent and the coach got outcoached in the biggest game of the yr!!

It would work, teams that don't have .500 record in district shouldnt make playoffs plain and simple!!

How about you have to have a .500 winning percentage to atleast make playoffs, under .500 should be a no no!!

Foreman first job won't be a 5a job i promise you that, the best resume is haynes and if they some how get him that would be a great hire because he has been successful at 4a and 5a programs

Discpline controls players!! if your discpline you will be successful and do the little things right and players will know their roles. remember there is a reason  that shes not doing softball anymore because that program progress backwards because there was no discpline what so ever in the softball program and they had very good talent  so what do you think is going to happen with the basketball program???

How many years did she have to build the softball program?? She is a good coach but some aren't meant to be head coaches.

When your up in the final mins of game and your forcing up shots that means the coach has no control of the team that means you have no discpline!! The team has to know what a good shot is and what a bad shot is no reason to force shots but you have to go over situations like that with the team and installed that into there heads!!

So?? And I hate when these numbers come out and there is a fan base who talks like this. Want to know why Buna sucks? Cause there's no expectations of winning. Instead you will cry about a hard district. Get your team to man up and win some district games. And quit with the won't make it for long time". It's two years, there have been many two year playoff droughts in bunas storied football history. Buna fans are simply responding to the numbers.  And if you know anything about high school sports you understand this.  Buna has an enrollment of 478  and Silsbee (822.5)  BC (773) and WO-S (686) have many more athletes to choose from simply because they out number Buna.  Playing a game where you can sub in and out fresh players on a more regular basis always gives you an advantage and it is a big advantage.  When you figure in injuries and wornout players who are playing both sides of the ball because you want your best athletes on the field at all times, it does make it very hard to compete.  I do think that Buna will do better than most think simply because their kids have a ton of heart and pride for their programs and they have a great coaching staff. Buna does have expectations of winning, if you know hs sports in this area you know that.  Saying "manup and win some ball games"  there is a ton more to it than that.  And that statement shows your high lack of knowledge on hs sports.

The district only has 3 good teams, the 4th spot is really weak with whoever makes the playoffs spot will be atleast be 3 or 4 games under 500 or worse..... and then have to play dayton or bhill in playoffs outch!!! By the way Lumberton has alot of young talent and should be good for yrs to come!!
