  1. Very true. The second string is getting a lot more minutes than they will in district. They are all juniors and have no experience on the varsity level. Thats where a majority of Nederlands turnovers are coming from. They will get better and cut down on the give aways as the season continues on. But give Memorial credit, they completely shut down Chris Hammond and Francis Torres. They were completely smothered the entire game. Chris didn't score and Francis only got a couple transition baskets. Memorial made someone else score besides the two stars and no one was able step up enough for the win.
  2. They can press all they want. Nederland is lead by their guards. They can handle the press well. They have an answer I think for everything WO-S can through at them.
  3. Nederland should have enough rest. They should put WO-S away early giving their starters some rest. But you can never tell with them. They are so inconsistant. But I will say that Nederland has beat Memorial several times in summer league the past couple years for what its worth. So they have confidence they can win. However, with all that said, I still Nederland has a let down from their past two games. Memorial by 7
  4. WO-S lost to Ned big last year and they havent improved much. I predict Ned big. But Francis puts up less than 20 points. I just don't see him matching more than 40 again this year.
  5. As long as Nederland still doesn't have Forney because of football they have no size and therefore no shot against HJ. HJ 69 - NHS 51
  6. I think PNG is very overrated. There defense can't stop anyone on first down. It is extremely hard to stop a drive when its 2nd and 3 or 4 every time. Also PNG is and always has since Long left struggled at passing the ball. Stick with the run. Harmon and Wright looked very good against Nederland but the Indians fell so far behind they were forced to abandon the run. Both are big backs who are averaging 6 yards a carry. If you do that everytime you will eventually score. PNG still should make the playoffs but I think it will be one and done when they get there. Thats just my prediction from what I have noticed.
  7. Wow!!!! No one saw this coming... but what about Livingston???? Did they play that well or was PN-G that bad? Is Livingston really for real?
  8. How will being without Cooper in the lineup help Nederland? He played harder and with more passion than any other player on that team. He was also their best defender. Pitts is decent but not near as quick. Nederland's problem the past two years was that they played as five individuals, played with no intensity on defense, and would fall apart once they got behind. They have not lacked any in talent. Those are all mental things that they need to improve on. 5 are better than 1 if 5 act as one. English also needs a playoff run this year. he has been grooming this group of seniors for two years and benched some seniors some minutes. It better finally pay off. But with four teams going Nederland has the talent to finish second but if they let their ego get in the way they can finish last. I think they get the third spot behind ozen and central. I also think this is the year they beat vidor once. They can match them from 3 point range for the first time since English started coaching there. That has really hurt them against vidor. But if this team reaches their full potential there is no reason nederland shouldn't win its first playoff game in school history! Go Dogs!
  9. Nederland shocks PN-G and the world and no hits the Indians again! okay okay that won't happen. I like the Indians 5-2
  10. Great job Nederland! They can really use the momentum going into next year for a playoff run!
  11. I see Dayton taking it. I just don't see Nederland or LC-M beating Central to stay alive.
  12. I think Dayton goes. They have more athletic ability than any of the other teams. They just lack a little height. That could cost them against LC-M.
  13. No upset here. I mean Nederland stood toe to toe with Ozen for three and a half quarters. I think Vidor definately could do the same. Still, not enough to win. Ozen by 12
  14. It could be the last time these two teams play for a long time. Any predictions? I like Nederland by 5. They have bounced back after losses well this season.
  15. 1. Ozen (No Question.) 2. Central (No Question.) 3. Nederland (Beats Vidor in a play-in game)
  16. they are a game behind nederland vidor and dayton for third.
  17. Man it sounds like a good one. LC-M plays like a different team at home.
  18. Wow! Quite a few upsets tonight it seems. That third playoff spot is really up for grabs.
