Hull-Daisetta vs Hardin/HD WINS 27-24!!!!!!

HD-Bobcat 55, is the 55 an indication of your IQ? You obviously have an issue with reading, I hear Sylvan works quite well for people like you. My post had zero excuses in it, only clear intelligent observations. OH, my bad, I'm talking way too smart for an IQ of 55. You dominated the line of scrimmage and thats it. You had 3 extra points, we didn't, and thats the difference, the only difference. Also, trust me, we're all excited about you playing Kountze too. -

Back in the day, you are correct, we are short on athletes compared to last year. It didn't help losing our best receiver and defensive back. If you saw the game, two of HD's touchdowns were pass plays where the receiver ran past the defender uncontested, like the defender forgot he was supposed to cover him. That was Hunter's man, maybe it would have been different, maybe not. I won't take away from HD's performance, they played to win. Another thing, don't get me wrong, I like Haynes, but he was blessed last year with an All-State quarterback and receiver, big offensive line with depth, and a very potent spread offense with the ability to score on every play, something every new coach would kill for his first year in town. He doesn't have that this year, now we'll see what he's made of. I'm interested in seeing what changes are made this week. HD, I wouldn't change much, you looked great, but remember, Hardin and HD is like UT and A&M, it doesn't matter where you stand, everybody is up at their highest level of intensity for the game, so stay focused and good luck. -

Congrats to HD, they earned it. The game was great, both teams scored 4 times, HD had 3 extra points to Hardins none. The difference in the game was HD's defensive line, they dominated the line of scrimmage. Hardin couldn't get a snap off because of the line being blown in the backfield. HD, you have my respect. -

I definately remember that, it was my Senior year. We had trashed HD so bad my Sophomore year, 27-7, the first year we went 3A, didn't play them my Junior year(at least I don't remember playing them), then the famous field goal my Senior year. This is a good rivalry, and trash talking makes it fun for us old timers as well. -
This is a toss up as far as I'm concerned. I would love to see Hardin win, but they have struggled so far offensively and have lost their best receiver for the year. Kountze and Anahuac are favorites, and you can never count out EC. Buna might be the sleeper, everyone is counting them out because of the starters they lost, but I'm not so sure. I would much rather be in Buna's shoes than Hardin's, being able to sit back and not be expected to win and being underestimated. Hardin has a lot on it's shoulders, a lot of people are picking them as a favorite. So, good luck to all, and hopefully 23-AA gets some good representation in the playoffs.

If you're able firedup, read my last post, I acknowledged Hardin was struggling academically. As far as sticking to football, didn't you just comment on TAKS scores. You people over there just ain't got it do you? Notice I'm trying to talk in a language you might understand. Good luck to both teams, Hardin on the big win and HD on the fact if they'll have any players left to finish the season after the game. -

You are correct, our run defense was not very good last year. Something has happened this year though, we look a lot better defensively than we do on the offensive side, which is a drastic change from last year. I don't know, hopefully we'll figure it all out before district and give everyone a run for their money. -

You got me on that one, Hardin is struggling academically, and HD does have the sink hole and we don't, so, let me think a while and I'll come up with something a little better to stir it up in here. It takes some effort to get a -21 in Karma. -

Come on HD fans, you can do better than that I hope. Life Flight? Give me a break! Pride of the black and red? LOL! How many kids from HD have ever played college ball? As far as that goes, how many have attended college and been able to make the grade? That's what I thought! You barely even have a functioning High School. We'll see what your running backs are made of Friday, remember, Hardin plays schools with bigger kids all year. You really should start getting ready for West Hardin, just except what happens Friday and move on, hopefully you'll still have kids available after the first six weeks. -
Stelly's on the offense to help out as needed, his main role is bringing havoc at linebacker. This isn't gonna be close, do you think Haynes is going to get on the radio and say," hey, we're doing just awsome, we plan to run the 32 option first, followed by a tightend hot rout"? If so, you have some issues. We are going to run the ball more, you can't replace Nolan, but we are strong in the backfield and strong at quarterback in that area. Ya'll talk all you want, we'll see Friday night. If HD wins, I'll congratulate them, but I don't see it happening.

Ok, I tried to be diplomatic on my first post and not start the mouthing or trash talking, but this is Hardin and Hull-Daisetta, so lets go! Stelly and Barber should have fun, but let's not forget Villamez, he is gonna light some people up. Just ask Hardin Jefferson, they had a few kids walking to the wrong sideline after he hit them. As far as the two HD running backs, WHATEVER! I'm over 230 pounds too, I don't want any part of Hardins run defense. But, after looking at HD's TAKS scores over the last few years, I can see where they would struggle with these forums. Now, that should open things up a little on here! -

This should be a good one, Hardin is strong on defense this year, but have struggled offensively in the scrimmages. Hardin will have the edge in depth, HD's passing game could be better. HD is gonna have to throw the ball, they won't rush against Hardin's run defense. I'm going to say (hope) Hardin wins big, but I am a littled biased. This has always been a big rivalry, Hardin is supposed to win with them being 2A and HD being 1A, but this should be exciting. Hardin by 3 touchdowns. -
Hardin @ H-J scrimmage moving to crosby

You people in HJ should invest in some reading teachers. Re-read my post and realize how stupid you are. As for panthaplaya, you're still upset about getting handled by a small 2A school and the fact you're gonna end up without a district win, well you might beat Tarkington. Liberty looks terrible this year, you know it, everybody know's it. Your lucky Kelly couldn't make it, you would have been embaressed. -

Here we go again! In the controlled scrimmage, HJ scored twice on Hardin's second team squad, they didn't even budge our first team squad(less than 30 yards comment). Also, against our second team squad, HJ had their starting offensive line in, unless several kids had the same numbers. The touchdown HJ scored on in the live scrimmage, our second team secondary was in there. I'm not sure if you've ever watched a scrimmage before so I'll explain the concept for you and I'll try and talk slow. Controlled-first teamers against first teamers, second teamers against second teamers in that order. Live-game like situations with subs as needed. I do like HJ's quarterback and receivers as well as their linebackers though, and Hardin looked good all over on defense. Hardin struggled on offense, but Haynes isn't gonna show a whole lot with Hull-Daisetta's coaches in the stands. -

Just left the scrimmage, not a bad day for either team. Hardin struggled on offense, as did HJ. During the first set of 1st teamers, HJ had about 30 yards on 15 plays, Hardin drove the ball all the way down the field and then stalled. Hardin's defense looked outstanding, during most of the live quarter I don't think HJ made it past their own 30. The one time they did, they scored on some nice passing plays, but Hardin had a lot of reserves in at the time. HJ has a good looking quarterback and receiver squad, and some good looking linebackers. Hardin moved the ball at will down the field until they got close and then couldn't put the ball in the endzone. Hardin's QB threw 3 interceptions that looked like he was actually throwing to the HJ defender, we'll have to work on that. Over all, Hardin's defense looked much better than last years, but the offense has some work to do. HJ looked pretty good on defense too, but they need some work on running the ball. The biggest difference I saw was HJ had a steady stream of good looking reserves to put in, but Hardin is very limited and let's hope we don't have any injuries or we're in trouble. -
Liberty vs. Hardin (from the home camp)
bushpilot replied to Mike George's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Hey LP1989, when you said Liberty will be on top, what "top" were you talking about? Unless a drastic change happens, Liberty won't win a district game this year. I believe in pride and support for your team, but the people in Liberty have needed a reallity check for years. It took that to happen in Hardin before we started to succeed. Every year we said we were going to be champs, and every year we failed. Then one day we quit accepting the fact of losing was OK. Heads were rolled, bad attitudes were no longer accepted, and a lot of good things are happening now. Good luck Liberty, I wish you the best, but don't base your success this year on what your second team did in Hardin, look at how your first team was at least equalled by a smaller 2A school and try to improve from that. -
One more thing, instead of sitting around talking about how well they handled Hardin, Liberty should be thinking, "man, we sure didn't fare to well against a small 2A team, maybe we should look for ways to improve, our 3A district is gonna be much more difficult".
-
This panthaplay is hillarious, he's the only one in Liberty that thinks they put it on Hardin. I live in Liberty, have a kid on the Freshmen team, know almost everyone in Liberty's stands, sat on Liberty's side during the scrimmage, I promise you, they did not handle Hardin. Reallity check time! Yes, the final was 4-1. As I've stated, Liberty has more depth. Their second and third teams were better against our second team made up of zero starters and mostly sophmores. But as for the first team, they scored one more time using 20 more plays and a missed tackle gave them their second touchdown. So, ask anyone, that sounds pretty good for Hardin. If Liberty wins two games this year I'll be impressed.

OK panthaplaya, that's fine, everybody see's things differently, most Liberty people sit around in denial and would never admit to getting handled by Hardin, so I understand. But, I can definately say that after the scrimmage that at least three teams, including Hardin, in our 2A district would beat Liberty in a full game this year. I know most of the people in Liberty's stands, and all that I talked to were worried after seeing what Hardin did. So, like I said, good luck and hopefully you'll get to celebrate at least once this year. -

Uh, panthaplay, I was standing 10 feet from Liberty's coach when he said they were done and didn't want to do a full quarter of play, so maybe you should get your facts straight. As far as the 4-1, I stated Liberty had more depth, their second and third team were better than our second team. But as far as first team goes, ya'll were no match. We handled you soundly and your coaches obviously were scared to to do a full quarter so your team didn't get embarrased by a small 2A school. But, I live in Liberty, so I do hope you get at least one win this year, but after Saturday I'm not sure it will happen. One other thing, on both of your first team touchdowns, you had several penalties that were called, but we let you keep the ball where it was, we didn't move you back. And also like I stated, you used almost 30 plays to score your two touchdowns, we used less than 15. So,I would call that a pretty good day for Hardin. -

Hardin and Liberty- Hardin's first team dominated Liberty on both sides. Liberty had one decent drive, their first touchdown. Their second touchdown, they were being handled pretty easily and were probably third and about twenty when they broke one for their second touchdown. Liberty used 15 plays to score their first, Hardin only needed 7. Hardin's second drive ended on the two yard line when they ran out of plays. Liberty's third drive netted them about negative twenty yards. Hardin didn't get a third drive. Right after Hardin manhandled Liberty's third drive, it was time to do "game like" play and Liberty's coaches decided they didn't want to scrimmage anymore. Liberty has more depth, their second and third teams did well. Liberty looks to have a long year. -
Keep an eye on the Villemez kid in Hardin, only a Junior and is 6'3", 200 pounds with a 40 yard dash of 4.5. Could surprise a lot of people. Also, the Stelly kid who will be right beside him in the backfield, strong as an ox.

Congrats to Daniel Marsh and Jordan Nolan in Hawaii. Nolan was a captain and played the whole game which included a touchdown pass to Marsh. Marsh scored two touchdowns including a 80 yard kickoff return. Both should be congratulated on the win and their efforts!
