Why in the world would Landry not get the job? He is a teacher (first and foremost) and a head baseball coach? And now someone who isn't even a teacher is being considered? This is unbelievable, so there has to be something I am missing here. What is going on................... ???

Easy, do you live in BC? If you answer yes, then you will answer my next question :

Was Jagneaux offered the job? Technically to turn it down, you must first be offered it. Didn't know if it got that far with him. Maybe the new athletic director has to answer to the group that is really calling the shots in BC. Parents & grandparents change every few years so are they also groomed through little league to run the show at the high school? Or is the entire town just 'kin' to each other? Just my two cents......... And you don't think that parents influence the athletics at BC??????? Have you just moved to town? I think the athletic director should run the show without having to put up with all the bs that goes on. But let me ask, who DOES call the shots in BC in your opinion? And perhaps they are groomed from little league to run the show at the high school level.................you said it not me but take a long hard look at the situation and it does seem that would be the case for the past several years. But the one's who benefit from this sort of thing would like the show to go on as it is wouldn't they? It's just a shame that all this mess goes on in BC, the kids have to deal with it, the coaches have to deal with it, the athletic director deals with it and it never stops. We are the laughing stock of the community because of how thing go and it is pretty pathetic. But the right person will fix it hopefully.

Well hello, I always knew you were a smart one. Oh and BTW Gabe, maybe he shouldn't be "thinking" about it and just start praying. You can say what you want, but the parents in Vidor let the man do his job, "his" way. EVERYBODY who has a functional brain cell in their head knows that does not and will not happen in BC. I would think this is the perfect opportunity for the new athletic director to take control and to change the way BC operates. Call a town meeting, tell the parents to keep their nose outta the coaches business and others that tend to jump feet first into business that they shouldn't, and if you can't abide by some sort of normality as far as high school athletics go, your kid won't be playing. I see this as a problem that somebody needs to fix. Bridge City has a terrible reputation of politics and parents/grandparents running the show how they want it and it's pretty embarrassing. Why is it allowed to continue? Just my two cents..................

How many jobs has Jagneaux had?? Surely BC wants a coach that can use the word "longevity" in a resume. Who is Jagneaux and where does he coach now? Jagneaux is from Nederland and has coached at many different schools. He is currently the head coach for 5A Westside where he has been successful. Why would you leave a 5A school for a 3A school? That doesn't seem likely especially if he is successful at the 5A school.

I say, lets just hire this certain board member for AD, then there will be no worries! Run the whole shabang and then no one has to worry about being the "hunted witch"! It's Bridge City folks, the more things change the more they stay the same! Whomever gets the job has to abide by the "rules" or another hunt begins! Does anyone know of any coach that has officially applied for the job? Lots of names thrown out there, but are they even interested?

These three will be missed alot! The catching position is up for grabs, Joe, Luke and Grant have all caught since 6 years old so it could be one of those guys who will step up, or someone who caught in JV. Outfield, Rhodes started mostly when Dillon or Clark pitched, so he has experience starting in the outfield, which leaves one spot open there. Pitching is where I see it being a big loss..............Dillon and Clark's shoes will be hard to fill. But there are several of the above mentioned players who are very capable of stepping up as pitchers. It will be interesting to see how the team of next year comes out. Lets just hope that they get a coach that uses the talent he will be handed to the best of it's ability! On another note, good luck Coach Bryant, you will be missed!

Politics do play a role in most schools, but in BC they are to the point of being sickening. One thing that just gets me are some of the boys in athletics are always up to no good, and the coaches know about it, but it's overlooked and they seem to be the one's that get rewarded. Someone needs to step up and put a stop to the nonsense, but that won't happen. Lets give them another pat on the back and another award. Whatever happened to "the best players play, but by being on the team, there are rules that athletes have to follow or you are kicked off". Need coaches who don't play favorites and coach with an iron fist. Just my two cents!
