Way wrong. The school is responsible for providing an education. Not to monopolize on sports and NIL. Also, as a taxpayer I am not going to pay for your kid to come in and take advantage of what was built within the community. If your kid is that good, send them to IMG or a private school known for sports.

So kids should be able to roll into any school and tryout for a sport, wait to see if they make the team even if they do not go there, then transfer if they do? Or am I reading your post wrong?

Just a shame that a good kid has been dragged around so much by his own city. I am not from Nederland nor related to the young man but you would think people would have more to contribute if they are going to post besides some bs.

How can you feel that way? If the ejected kid leaves none of this happens. How is he allowed to come back in, sit behind the HD bench, then attack the HD kid? You want to place blame on HD for defending themselves? Not an issue at PN-G. Football numbers are always high. This year there will be roughly 75 kids trying out for baseball to fill 3 teams. 9th grade football this year had roughly 80 kids playing.

North Shore - 577 in the state out of 1,555 SOC - 1,258 out of 1,555. You know which schools are worse than SOC? Border schools where most of the kids are still learning English. You don't have a point. Just an agenda.

I didn't say all. I was speaking about SOC. North Shore is nothing like SOC. North Shore is a much better school district for education. SOC is factually one of the worst educational schools in Texas. One of the poorest schools in Texas. But hey, great football team with plenty of swag and gear. And talk about a dumb statement? Open up all schools to open enrollment? So kids in Texas will end up with what amounts to an 8th grade education when they do graduate? Yeah that makes sense.

I understand. I also understand a majority of these kids will not do anything once they get to college beyond play football and will be right back in the crap once football is done with no education. Bottom line for me is I have ZERO issue with what Coach Todd and SOC are doing. If it gets a kid out of a bad situation and they make it, I applaud that. I just think they should be playing in a division that matches their ability to bring in kids from all over the state. And if DISD / SOC invested half the amount of energy they do into all the non football kids educations it would be less of an issue.

Since when did getting an education become about how good a football team you can field? Most schools are not going to sacrifice education to land some blue chips. DISD doesn't care about educating kid. Just an image.

Nobody is going to a DISD school for an education. Definitely not SOC. I think it is simple. You have open enrollment you play up a division. I also think there should be some academic standard that has to be met in order to have open enrollment.

Metts played H Back. I don't see another TE on the current roster. There will be some help from the JV and Freshman team. Outside Gohlke, there should be at least 5 or 6 more from the freshman class that play alot as sophomores.
