  1. Seriously, BMT? Lumberton had 6 turnovers against HF and still won handily. This site has the Train as the #2 ranked team in 20-4A, yet the majority of the people on the board have picked them to lose both weeks to little, 3A teams. I don't get it.
  2. Lazeek, I just needed gas to get back to Houston - moving into a new apartment tomorrow. Had to wait 15 minutes to get a pump. Sigh.
  3. Just got back from getting gas, here's a rendition of the scene down there.
  4. A little bit of both. Rice should be OK, 7-5 or so and go to a bowl game. But SMU is obviously still really struggling.
  5. I know they're human and the difficulty of tracking these things, I'm just saying - You'd think, with it's getting closer, with more data, you'd think they'd be able to narrow their projections, not widen them.
  6. The one Tuesday went from around Galvaston to central Louisiana, didn't include Corpus Christi. Today, it stretches well past Corpus Christi even further into south Texas, to roughly Mobile, Alabama. It's gotten significantly bigger.
  7. Never trust any meteorologist (not named Coop). I remember waking up the morning before Rita, and watching KBMT, and they still had no clue where it was going to end up. I've watched their cones of probability from two days ago not include Corpus Christi (which should mean they can tell with X amount of certainty that there's an absolute 0% chance of it hitting outside of the cone), to today, where Corpus Christi is WELL within their models. My question is, how can their cones get wider as the hurricane becomes closer? A: THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY'RE DOING! Realistically, anywhere from Brownsville to Mobile should be on alert.
  8. Wake Forest @ Baylor NC State @ South Carolina SMU @ Rice Southern Cal @ Virginia Mississippi State @ Louisiana Tech Alabama @ Clemson Michigan State @ California Illinois @ Missouri Kentucky @ Louisville Tennessee @ UCLA Too easy without spreads.
  9. Me too. The trio of LBJ-Kobe-Wade was incredible throughout and the American PG position is locked down for the next 15 years with Paul and Williams. These guys played much tougher competition from top to bottom, and did it just as convincingly.
  10. Yeah, Chris Bosh won't step up and throw those weak floaters into the bleachers for some reason. Get Dwight back.
  11. I can see Dwight Howard punching Marc Gasol's head clean off his body before the game is over. I want to see LeBron rise up and absolutely hammer on one of these guys in the 2nd half, and bring the house down. I think that'd be the perfect exclamation point on those crybabies. Last tidbit: Dwayne Wade is back to world-class form. He's got my vote for Player of the Olympics (if there is such a thing). Looks like "Flash" again.
  12. Don't let this carry much weight, LCM is a perinnial featherweight.
  13. I graduate from UH this semester, and I'm kind of on the fence with this one. $38M for an endzone facility, you'd figure it would be something that would transform the world of EZF's. I've seen the renderings and to be honest, it doesn't even look that impressive - and kind of odd actually, given that it's height will be higher than the two grandstands. I can only assume they plan to add upper decks in the future - in which case, we'd end up with a pretty sweet venue on our hands. I'll hold out judgment until I see ground breaking, though. UH is a penny pincher of sorts, so I don't think they'd throw $38M somewhere they didn't think would be a solid investment.
  14. I play with the Lumberton kids 1-2 times a week. I have a brother who will probably be a starter (he's coming off a dislocated shoulder, so that's why I'm not completely sure what his role will be), so I know the program pretty well. They'll be better, but I don't see them getting one of the top 4 spots. They've got some good outside play, but not much of an inside presence. If they run the floor and integrate more full court defensive sets, they'll give some teams some trouble. They shouldn't be a cakewalk like last year.
  15. Rice Stadium is alright. I was there for the UH/Rice game last year. It's a little big for a HS game, though. If we're going to play in a 70,000 seat stadium, at least give us Reliant where we won't freeze! Anyone think the Region Final will be at Reliant?
  16. If Nederland beat them, I'm predicting a rout. I was also just told that they are an option team. (that won't work against us) Lumberton 42 - Waller 10
  17. Hmm, yeah. There's no columbia blue. Oh well, teal will work! ;D
  18. A little lighter color blue, BMT! Thanks for the support, guys. Tonight was the best HS game I've ever seen!
  19. AJ, that's basically the All-Lumberton team. ;D
  20. Hardin's QB? What do they play, 1A? If Hussey played 1A, he'd probably have 3000 yards rushing. Also, the deceptive thing about Hussey's stats is that he didn't even PLAY in the 2nd half of the first four games this season. Keep that in mind.
  21. They're playing with half a team. If/when they get everyone back and play you again, Lumberton wins by 20. Congrats on your first win.
  22. I saw in another thread that no "air horns" will be allowed at the game Friday. Does that mean the big horn that's set up in the endzone won't be able to enter the stadium? Or just those little hand-held ones won't? Can anyone clarify? The L-Train horn is a great tradition that needs to be continued in Lumberton for a long time.
  23. They're also missing Hussey, Creduer, Purks, Hanna, and a couple others. Whenever footballs over, Lumberton will be running 13-14 deep. They've currently got 7 guys in uniform. Had Lumberton had all their football players yesterday, it would of been a blowout.
  24. Hey guys, it's Lamar_Basketball from the HoopInsider forums. Lumberton's going to struggle until the L-Train gets derailed on the gridiron (hopefully it'll be a while until that happens), given that the Raider Hoops team depends so much on guys like J. Ward, Hussey, Credeur, etc. The football team making a run is giving some young guys some time on varsity, though. My brother (sophomore) scored a team-high 9 points and grabbed 4 boards yesterday at BC (look out!.. haha) I don't know what Kelly has this year, but I'll predict they'll take this one by about 10. Lumberton is playing with about half a team right now (7 guys).
