1. Not even close?  What makes you think SA will "run away" with the district?  Alto blasted yall last year and only beat West Sabine by 14.  I'll admit I'd probably put SA as #1 to start. I'll say this, you better beat Alto this year with your Sr. filled team, cause we'll be the team next year returning 17/18 starters.  Lotsa young studs coming up at Alto,  06'/07' like talent in the Soph./Jr. class.!

I see every game on the schedule this season as a winnable game.
I got your words marked, cause if HD wins district, that means they get a bye then all likely hood play the #2 seed out of district 10 , which will either be Alto or San Augustine.
Might not end so well for Alto. H-D is back!
HA!  Everyone wants to be a comedian these days
Hope you got lots of studs coming back/returning.  Win district and get a bye, 1st playoff game will be against district 10 runner up more than likely which will be Alto/San Augustine loser.
5. WOW, and to think my Jackets were 1 out away from winning the series agaist Evadale until 3 errors in a row doomed us!! But, that's baseball, guess i'll take my crow with a side of "rebel" salad :D Cayuga has gotten to big for their britches this year considering they were a dump in athletics recently, guess if you are a "flash-in-the-pan" you think you're the top dog now days. Looks like my Jackets gave Evadale the hardest series all year, good luck in Austin.
6.
Alto wasted their ace last night though so could be interesting to see the #1 from evadale pitch tomorrow could be a different story all together
Wasted their ace???  When should they have pitched their ace then???  Alto still has Peacock ( the tall lefty ) and the Crisp kid who has been pitching on Varsity since he was a frosh. so it's not like Alto doesn't have anything left to throw.
7. well, well, well, told yall!!  Evadale may very well win series, but doesn't look like Alto shed any tears in game 1!  tried to tell some you guys!
8.
I have seen Evadale play several times this year and they can flat out hit.  I hope Altos #1 does not get his feelings hurt to easy, cause it could very well happen.
What a classy post your so full of yourself!  Kinda like what would happen if Evadale ever played Alto in football right??
9.
I think evadale will take this one. Evadale has a whole lineup stacked with hitters. Alto has only 1 or 2 Hitters, and one lefty pitcher. Whose every bodys winner of this series mine is evadale
Evadale may very well win, but I'm just wandering how your "whole lineup stacked with hitters" as you put it, got shut down and held to only 1 run by Lovelady, and they didn't even pitch their top 2 pitchers against Evadale???  They threw their ace Gunnels against Alto both times and pitched their #3 and 4 against yall  . . . . .
10.
Does anyone know when and where this game/games will be played. Does anyone have any info on Alto?
Alto came in 2nd place behind Lovelady and lost both games to them 10-1 and 5-0. I'd say Alto's main pitcher is the Soph. lefty kid who is tall, pretty solid pitcher.  They have a Sr. pitcher who's been pitching on the Varsity since he was a Freshman , he throws hard with a hard curve but is WAY inconsistant and wild at times.  I've seen him throw complete game shutouts in the playoffs and then not even make it out of an inning in games so not sure what you will get???  Gresham kid pitches to and is pretty good and he is an excelllent catcher and they have a 4th kid who isnt overpowering but throws strikes, believe he's only walked 1 batter all year.  Couple good sticks in lineup.
11. Man I watched this game ( live right by Rose Stadium ) and Jasper just got whooped, plain and simple. Gilmer is a machine! Jasper QB was running for his life everytime he dropped back, Jasper's big OL couldn't contain a smaller, fast DL that Gilmer had. Just my 2 cents worth....
12. Tarlandus Mitchell had 14 K's for Alto, 2 rbi's and a triple. Jared Moore was 2-2 with a triple, HBP twice, scored 3 runs and had 2 rbi's West Sabine pitcher Malone was pretty good, Alto did have some good hits off of him. Had a real good curve-ball, I'd be willing to bet he threw more curves than fast balls.
13. 3 game series Game 1, Friday, 7 pm, Pollack Central Game 2, Saturday, 11 am, Pollack Central Game 3 ( if necessary ) 30 mins. following game 2
14. We played EF in a warm-up game last Friday. Lost 11-6. Their ace is a lefty, throws pretty hard, but we hit him. Their other 2 guys were nothing special. Pretty solid in the field though. Got some big/tall lookin kids. Our #1 and #2 pitchers combined to pitch 6 innings and give up just 2 runs on 4 hits. They scored 9 runs off of our #3, #4, and #5 guys though. Pretty stout 1-6 in order.
15. Cross Roads is pretty salty. Their #1 is a lefty named Cody Quinn, TOUGH!!
16. A little out of yalls area but Tarlandus Mitchell from 1a Alto has had MLB scouts at every game he has pitched. The times I've seen the radar gun has been consistantly 87-91, gotten as high as 94. Off-speed stuff is in mid-70 range. Height will hurt him though being only 5'10. One scout said they wish they could put his arm in Trey Haley's body. ( Central Heights pitcher who has signed with Rice )
17. You are right about the accuracy/wildness. He pitched boh games against Hemphill so he can be beaten. Believe Hemphill scored a few runs on wild pitches. Their #2 pitcher, Vardeman, is pretty solid though.
18. Central Heights. They have the pitcher who is signed with Rice ( low 90's fastball ). Their #2 pitcher is undefeated on the season also.
19. Big Sandy will play Lovelady in 1st round. Winner of that will play Alto.
20. Chester will play Groveton in the playoffs in he 1st round. Either Grapeland/Lovelady will play Dallardsville Big Sandy/Zavalla in thh 1st round. Grapeland/Lovelady are playing for 1st/2nd this Friday.
21. Perfect example that good pitching is good pitching no matter if it's 5a or 1a. Alto, a 1a team, beat Hemphill earlier in the year allowing only 2 runs, which I'm guesing is Hemphill's lowest output of the year. They had maybe a handful of hits, if that. Alto pitched a kid that may go in the upcoming draft for 5 innings and a left-handed kid that is nasty the final 2. They both combined for over 10 K's in the game. But I will definately give Hemphill props, easily the best team we have faced this year, they had some monster looking kids in the lineup. Alto is 11-1 on the year, 5-0 in district. In 12 games, we have allowed just 29 runs ( little over 2 per game )
22. Just thought I'd post on here that Alto beat Hemphill this morning 3-2. Hemphill only had around 4 hits. Alto has pretty good pitching for 1a, have the Mitchell kid who is an MLB prospect in the upcoming draft and he pitched the first 5 innings, had several K's, Alto also has a lefty kid who is pretty solid as well, pitched last 2 innings, striking out 4.
23. Ouch, we play Hemphill next Thursday in opening round of the Center tournament, sounds like we better get ready!
24. It will all depend on the big-school/small-school set up. Couple of the teams in Alto's district are bigger, but I don't really see them being in the playoff picture. Lovelady is bigger than Mart and could end up being the big-school. Either way it doesn't matter, we will line up and play whoever we are put against! 8)
25. I watched this game last year and was very impressed with HD and what they had coming back and thought they would be a team to watch this year. Groveton is Groveton, they will be tough. I think it could go either way. We will be waiting on the winner next week.
