The regular season does mean something. To the top teams in the district, its a fight for a higher seed for to go further in the playoffs. For the lesser teams, it is a chance to do something as a building block for the future. It may be lackluster to make the 4th place spot, but some 3rd and 4th place teams to win, because they are in a tough district. Also, youre telling me that if Warren made the 4th place spot you wouldn't be excited, or it'd just be whatever because 4 teams go and it's not a big deal?

The reason I mention Hardin is because he is often criticized for playing those teams. Hardin and Woodville aren’t in the same boat though. Hardin hasn’t won a whole lot recently so yeah you’ll have to help the kids learn how to win to prepare them for district. Woodville is the other side of the spectrum. They are dominant in that district. But I do agree that 7 cupcake district games is the unfortunate thing for them. What do you think would be a starting point for the Eagles to get over the hump.

So schedule cupcakes then go through a cake district so you can be healthy for playoffs. People get on hardin for this type of scheduling. Why won’t woodville play jasper or lumberton or silsbee or teams like that?

True. I agree. They should look at what they’re doing wrong and emulate the ones who consistently win. Where does that start?

One problem woodville has is they don’t really play a consistent amount of stiff competition to challenge themselves. Yes, they are undefeated. They have beaten some winning teams, but if you look at their schedules they have beaten losing teams as a majority. I’m sure not a lot of teams want to play woodville around here which hampers their success, mixed in with a district with teams with 2-3 wins on the year doesn’t help. I’d like to see them play people like silsbee, or lumberton, or even newton to see where the cards fall. Winning district championships is great without a doubt. Going undefeated in regular season is a great feat, but losing at the same point every year can get frustrating.

He’s gone 8-10 so far. I wouldn’t say it’s been too bad for the pirates. It could be worse though.

Who would be better to call plays, or what plays should they call? Honest question. You said he’d rather lose than ask for help. So, here’s a chance for his help.
