I never said losing to Kountze was going to hurt Evadale. I just said Kountze was going to win and win BIG! Evadale is a VERY good 1A team, and I wish them the BEST of luck!

I forgot to mention we missed a lot free throws. WHAalum, I think you might be right. Maybe we should have flipped for seeding and tried to play Evadale, Woodville, or Kountze, playing those teams would have been less of an emotional game win or lose. There is always next year. We don't rebuild, we just reload 8)

Silsbee wanted to flip. H-J did not. At that impasse, Silsbee was going to concede the first seeding, so the game was played. Worked out pretty well for Silsbee. Thanks for your original thinking and input. I know who wanted to flip and who didn't, but thanks anyway??

Congrats Hawks on a great season! To Sutherland and Moore- I remember when you two were in 8th grade I was coaching the Orangefield All-Star Team, and I remember you two ladies DOMINATING us 3 games in a row. I said then, you would be awesome basketball players. I was VERY right. You will be missed at HJ and missed in the rivialry with Orangefield. Good luck in whatever you do.

After seeing Livingston in the Livingston tournament, I really thought they'd win their district, I was wrong, but at least they are going deeper in the playoffs than anyone. Congrats!

What a game!! Way to go Mustangs!! Should've been on the stinking radio. Thanks for all the updates!! It was in Vidor. That's like 10 mins away, Orangefield girls played 2 hours away. HUGE difference. :

Bad night for all Orangefield fans.

Their defense was really good, they were all over us and we had no answer. They were also very fast. We turned it over A LOT! A lot of the girls played very scared. We only took 2 3's the whole night and missed both. They beat us down court and made layup after layup, they never hit an outside shot. We couldn't make adjustments. I now wish we wouldn't have had a week off, because we just looked so flat from tip off. There were 45 fouls called the whole game. We got within 2 in the 3rd, but they went on a run and there was no catching up. The bad thing is, Navasota only has 3 seniors! It would have been nice to have had a game film on them...but we didn't for some reason. > I think Gabe said it best- I am hoping this game was good experience for the underclassmen for next year, we return 7 next year.
