Are those kids ending up in Silsbee? Such as Chris Miller did about 15 years ago, for example? I just don't see how they fell so far off the cliff like that.

Kountze has had way too many "down" years in a row. What is going on down in those woods that the basketball has dried up so bad?

I gotta tell ya, if this Silsbee team at least MAKES it to the State championship game, this will likely be the start of one of the greatest team dynasties ever in SE Texas history! They will be YOUNG again next season, yet more talented and seasoned than most teams in the state! DANGEROUS! Those Silsbee freshmen are the best I've seen as 9th graders since Stephen Jackson and Kendrick Perkins.

This Silsbee team is very talented but still very YOUNG. They cannot afford to break their arms patting themselves on the back, because this same team lost to Lumberton at home and finished second in district. They are capable of winning region 3, yet being so young, they are also capable of losing to an inferior team as well. ONE GAME AT A TIME. That one is over against Yates. Now they MUST refocus in 24 hours mind you, to play another playoff team. That might not be easy to do for 14 and 15 year old kids, playing in their first playoffs in front of the largest crowds in their young lives.

WOW! I definitely missed on calling this game for sure! Heard Haggerty for Crosby was a hand full, and they were sending THREE at Griggs all night long! Well, that will do it. Maybe BU will win the region after all. Crosby doesn't seem to be an easy out. I think it will be a great matchup.

Yates by 20 plus. I know you guys are homers and all, but the reality is that THIS Silsbee team is too young, and too small to play with Yates and if they try to play fast against this team, they will get beat by 40. Simple as that

Again, love Coach English as a person and a really good high school basketball coach, BUT. What has he accomplished to deserve a shot at LU? Lamar never came after Sutherland. Or Boutte. Why English? Just curious to know your logic other than being a fan or friend of his.

Really? You guys have been crying that Yates is recruiting for more than 10 years now. They MUST be paying off the UIL too, because there are never any penalties brought against this school for recruiting. No penalties, No warnings, No sanctions, Nothing. Just stop crying foul when there is nothing there.

Correct and for the past 7-8 years outside of maybe 2 kids that were standouts, the rest were legit kids from Port Arthur in SOME capacity. I'm not saying the parents didn't possibly MOVE to Nederland, but they were Port Arthur kids.

I have to be honest. Which kids do you know that were African American and played for Nederland that were actually FROM Nederland? Those were the kids that I was referring to. Port Arthur kids.

This one should be a good one. Silsbee is "down" but they are still very formidable. They lost a lot from last year and are competing with a young group. I say Silsbee by 6.

Ok. Just remember you heard it here first. Hightower will win the region again. United will be favored, but Hightower has the only pro on the floor.
