  4. wow it was an exciting game all the way to the finish..im a die hard pirate fan and have been all my life but i sometimes wonder about the play calling ...i think when ned was on the goal line,we had about a minute and a half left,we should have let them score and we would have had more time to get down the field and try for the tieing fg...what are yalls thoughts on that? but it was a nail biting game all the way to the fininsh
  5. when will the schedules be announced?
  6. ok thx big ford.....vidor has got to do their part first and beat livingston...go pirates
  7. now if my math is correct with alot of help and a vidor win,can they still make the playoffs? lumberton to lose out and lcm to beat nederland and vidor to beat livinston..i think that puts vidor in because we would have the tiebreaker over livingston and nederland..if im wrong  let me know
  8. This is an article in the Indy Star Newspaper in Indiana about Cameron. Area freshmen drive Purdue baseball Purdue baseball coach Doug Schreiber thought last summer he had his best incoming recruiting class in 12 seasons at the school. That has been confirmed, thanks largely to the efforts of third baseman Cameron Perkins (Southport) and catcher Kevin Plawecki (Westfield), who just might already be the Boilermakers' best players. "Neither of these two kids have been in awe of anything," Schreiber said. "I don't think they're intimidated by much. They're pretty hard-nosed.'' Perkins was twice named The Indianapolis Star's Super Team Player of the Year while at Southport; those were the only two years he played in Indiana after moving from near Houston. It was widely anticipated he would play college baseball at a warm-weather school. Purdue caught his attention by offering a full scholarship, a rarity in baseball. Perkins also was impressed by the school's academic reputation, so he stayed in Indiana. He started the season at first base, but Schreiber moved Perkins to third base when the Boilermakers were struggling on the left side of the infield. Perkins was hitting .331 with seven home runs, 26 runs batted in and a team-leading .576 slugging percentage heading into this weekend's three-game series at Indiana. He also led the team in doubles (13) and runs scored (35). "The biggest adjustment is that you have to understand it's not high school anymore," Perkins said. "I was expecting to get a hit every time. Sometimes here, you just have to do your job and realize that's not going to happen." Schreiber said Perkins' intelligence is evident on the field, too. "He's easily the best baseball-IQ player I've ever recruited," Schreiber said.
