  1. I don't know, since I've never been there before, but it must be harder to take missing the playoffs when your use to going than to not make it year after year (until now). That said, I don't think it's time to panic down in Mid County. Good program, good tradition, lot of returning letterman and a good freshman bunch coming up for the Bulldogs. I know the change in scheme is unsettling since you guys didn't make it, but this year there were 4 good teams and the Raiders had destiny on their side. Everything is cyclical.
  2. You have to admire the Nederland fans. After a 63-0 beat down, they still remain positive. Every team should have fans like that. However, in tonights game, Lumberton wins!
  3. From what I can tell, you are the only person from Mid County who is pulling for the Raiders.
  4. I think that Lumberton's number should be real close to 1,100 unless they have had some move out since school started. I hear that the elementary schools project an enrollment in about 6 years in the 1,300-1,400 range.
  5. I'm not sure how many of these Nederland kids have been here before. Maybe it was the kids that came before this group. We will see.
  6. Way to go Coach Burnett and the Indians. Glad to see a coach bring a playoff game to the triangle instead of giving up home field by automatically going to Houston. I bet the crowd will be huge for the game.
  7. Lumberton wins. The score doesn't matter.
  8. When Lumberton beats Nederland, I believe they are the 1st seed in DII even if Dayton beats PNG because Lumberton beat Dayton head up. I think we are getting ahead of ourselves here.
  9. Well, this should remove all doubt as to what each teams chances are. This needs to be a sticky post so that we can track it over the next two weeks. After this Friday, you can eliminate those scenarios that still don't apply. I think if Nederland beats Dayton and PNG beats Central, then it will be PNG, Lumberton & Nederland, its just a matter of seeding.
  10. I can't see how bringing in a coordinator from one of the SLC schools is going to the ticket. I totally disagree with that. This is our shot to do it right. We need to get at least a D-1 assistant who is hungry and is looking for the opportunity to show they can be the head man. We will have to pony up the $$$ to do it, but it will pay for itself in the long run.
  11. It would be interesting to see who the local person is that votes on the poll.
  12. So could Nederland suprise this Friday.
  13. Is Alan Dock still a RB/LB for Giddings or did he graduate?
  14. You couln't find one person at Dayton who would have believed that the L-Train would beat them. Now you can't find one person at Nederland, Dayton or PNG who believes that Lumberton will make the playoffs. It will be an interesting 2 weeks and the 3 teams who do qualify will earn their way in. Nobody has to rely on somebody else to do their work. PNG has the inside track but nothing is certain. I'd say based on how they have played so far, I like Lumberton's chances this year.
  15. I think all the top Dogs are counting on Lumberton, a have not, folding their tent and paving an easy road into the playoffs for the have been's. I think Lumberton is very intent on crashing the party this year. Every game for Lumberton, PNG, Dayton and Nederland is extremely critical and a must win.
  16. Did the infamous PATitan call in with a MC head coach on? Unbelievable! I bet he thanked him for beating his beloved Bullmuts!
  17. I guess the L-Train is ranked correctly in comparison to Dayton. They beat their 3-A predistrict opponents LOL!
  18. Sometimes you say something on here and you wish you would have said it differently. My statement about the Bronco D-backs and Ford Smesny was not meant to be derrogatory but to state a fact that Jacob Hemmings is a load at full steam and you better be his size or bigger to go head up. Even D-backs in the NFL know better than to go head up on the larger RB's in the league. Their were more than 1 D-back that wished he'd never gone head up with the Tyler Rose, heck most of the LB;s new better than to do that in the open field. Hemmings and Smesny are probably both 1st team All D, but put Hemmings going full steam 10-15 yards beyond the line of scrimmage on a smaller D-back who try's to tackle him high and my money on Hemmings, no doubt about it.
  19. I don't think Lumberton has played Dayton a whole lot in the last 19 years. I have been surprised at the Dayton enrollment. Not sure were everyone lives to have a 1400+ enrollment. You guys must have a rather large land area for your school District.
  20. Purple 4 ever spends hours and hours dreaming of every possible scenario that gets Dayton in. Lets hope we don't have any point spread tiebreakers. One very deserving team will be staying home. What if the tiebreaker is the teams that with the least amount of playoff appearances in recent history LOL! I have one question that maybe someone can answer, does anyone know who would be considered District Champs if 3 teams finish at 6-1? Does it really matter if one school goes big school bracket and 2 go small school bracket. Would you just look at head up on the 2 small school entries for seeding and all 3 would be considered co-champs?
  21. I've seen both PNG and Dayton play. My opinion is that PNG is better. If PNG comes out with confidence that they had against Lumberton, they should win. If they come out "worried" like their fans, Dayton will win. I think that PNG's O-line and d-line are better. Hemmings will run over Smesny or the other d-backs if they go head up on him.
  22. Lumberton 8 Dayton 7 Lumberton 24 PNG 31 You can't compare scores when they are in your favor but ignore them when they are not. I saw both of those games. PNG's O-line and D-line are better than Dayton's. The lines almost always win the game. PNG/Dayton will be one wail of a game. It's a toss up at Dayton. PNG would win for sure at the Reservation.
  23. The Hemming hit was big no doubt, but Beard smashed Doty. He tried to jaw a little bit, but then he stumbled over to the sideline and fell to the ground in pain. The hits we big on both sides of the ball. The diffence in the game in my opinion was the Lumberton D never did pressure Tatum in the pocket. Give credit to the PNG O-line.
  24. I notice you didn't put Beard's hit on Doty, he stumbled back to the sideline and then collapsed to the ground.
