1. I believe that Kirbyville is the best area team in their classification by far but I don't believe they beat West Brook.  I think they give Central and Dayton all they want and maybe could beat one or both of those teams, probably a 50% chance of beating Central and 40% chance of beating Dayton.  Just MHO!
2. Ok, IMHO the hallmark of good coaching is that the team gets better as the season goes on under ordinary circumstances.  If we go 0-11 but get better as the season progresses then I think that is the evidence of good coaching instead of going 3-8 maybe 4-7 but digressing as the season goes on.  I don't have the warm fuzzy that we are getting better with 2 games left.  I'll let you guys who are more knowledgable than I debate my proposition.
3. I was at the first game at McNeese and I am just baffled at how the cards have digressed.  I don't buy the "game film" explanation for how far we have gone backwards in our performance.  If this team would have played at the level they played in Lake Charles, 6 wins should have been a lock with 7 a good possibillty IMHO.  I think from a fan perspective, it would have been better to have lost that game big if we were going to perform as poorly the rest of the season than to raise expectations to a phenomenal level that the McNeese game did only to witness the poor play the rest of the season.  Even you SHSU fans were right on board with the LU fans thinking that this would be a breakout season for the Cards, openly expressing concern that LU would win the game against the Bearkats.  I surely don't have the answer to the many questions that we all have.  I'm hoping that Woodard & Co can get things sorted out with the schemes and personell over the next two seasons.
4. This poll is so biased I would be ashamed if I was a voter.
5. The Sun Belt probably prefers La Tech, and they may just take it since their preference CUSA probably will not come about.
6.

Crosby/Dayton Final.   28-28
That was without 2 starting D linemen that was lost this week due to injury ;) ;) ;D B-team starters saw most the snaps 3rd / 4th
Actually I thought some fourth graders got some PT for Dayton! ;D
7. Does Lumberton have anything to play for?  I think they are mathematically eliminated and if so, then they will most likely get beat.  If they still have a chance, then they may put up a spirited fight and have a chance.  Will also need some breaks and Central to be unmotivated.
8. There's some folks in Dayton with too much time on their hands!!! :D
9.

I really really really don't think JJ is going to Lamar...I've been wrong that one time back in '79 though.
You might want to prepare yourself. ;)
He's been wrong so many times that if he got something right it would be like a blind hog finding an acorn!
10. Your absolutely right Green Menace.  This guy will be successful in the future.  Probably highly successful and I think it will be at the college level.  He is an outstanding human being and a great coach!!!
11. This is a hard job and I am not qualified to do it.  That said I hope that whatever happens the overall quality of refereeing HS football is improved.  To many "homers" and others that are just not up to snuff.
12. I expect Bob West will have a blurb in his Sunday column about it with some possible infoon Todd's future.
13. Can we get a list of who the voters are on this poll and what schools they are fans of?
14. From personal experience and with most all the poeple I know that have been through it, it takes years to get past a divorce if you really were emotionally involved in the relationship.  His golf game will probably come around before he does emotionally unless the marriage was a sham for him (and it is highly likely it may have been) then he probably has a ways to go to be at real peace.
15. Wow!!!  That is really big.  I didn't realize that but it explains a lot.  There is definately going to have to be some fundamental changes on offense.  JMHO!
16.
Vidor has open enrollment now. With these schools going to this type of policy..How will UIL be able  to keep up with why a kid transfers?   If little Johnny decides he wants to go to a school with an open campus and he transfers..Then he turns out to be a good football player. How will the UIL deal with these cases?
He probably will be a good player before he transfers.
17. LU has 2 weeks to see if they can "right the ship"!  If we continue to try to do the same things we are doing offensively and defensively with the current players we have in place, we probably only have one more win left in the season.  It won't be a disaster considering first year and the really tough schedule, but our first 3 games raised expectations to a fever pitch and now we are all sitting around depressed and disappointed and we have to endure the perpetual Lamar haters who are showing up mouthing off.  Hopefully in the next year or two, the teams play can permenantly close the garbage mouths.
18. I sure hope Jeremy come to LU.  I think he would have a chance to do something really great here in spite of the opinion of some of the experts who parade on this site.
19. Man I really hate that!!!!  I don't know him personally but from a distance I like Todd Dodge as a player and coach.  Not sure why he was not able to get it done but I have not lost faith in him.  I read somewhere what his 10 guiding core principles were as a person and coach and I could not have been more impressed.  I hope that he gets another chance and proves everyone wrong.  One thing is for sure, and it is played out time and time again at both the pro, college and high school, no one can be successful at every place.  There are situations that are right for a good person and situations that are wrong.  I think UNT just wasn't right for Todd Dodge.
20. I have it on Good authority that BMTSOULJA will be Derrick Hall's personal tutor.  Problem solved! ;)
21. You know I don't know if Roc is relieved or upset that Basketball practice has started and no one has even noticed with all the football stuff going on.  It should give him and his players plenty of incentive to show that football is not the only game in town.  We will just have to wait and see how the season plays out.
22.

Which Nederaland team is going to show up?  The one that got spanked by Vidor or the one that beat the Indians?  But which Lumberton team will show up?  The one that got spanked by PNG or the one who beat Livingston?  We are all putting who we want to win (its a no brainer who Soulja will pick in game that involves Lumberton) but no one really knows!  The only advantage really is Ned has home field.  Both teams appear to have played better at home.
How did I get dragged into this?  I picked a valid reason why I picked who I picked... ;)
It was a valid reason when you picked Livingston to win by 21!!!
23. Why these teams and not others on the list?
24.
Leaving the Sun Belt was due more to the financial problems Lamar was experiencing in the 1990s than anything else.  If Simmons and Tubbs had been hired a few years earlier then I believe Lamar would still be in the Sun Belt.  A lot of people were upset when Lamar returned to the SLC and I don't think Simmons and company will be satisfied until they leave.
I don't know how much the financial situation affected the move, I'm sure it was a factor but IMHO the move was made by Rex Cottle to try to protect Grey Giovanni's job as head basketball coach and get him in a conference where they thought he could be more successful.  Not dispariging Grey, he  was a really great guy and we all wanted him to be successful but it didn't work out as planned.  It was abad move and if anyone remembers, it was sold to the fans as if "we move to the SLC, we will bring football back".  Well that did happen, about 15 years later under a totally different administration.  Point being, the Cottle administration had no plans to bring it back, they just used the carrott to sell the plan.  LU could have brought football back as a member of the Sun Belt.
