Uncle Pig would be correct. The student that was supposed to have gotten 22 pops only got 4. 3 of those were for F bombs. The coach who supposedly gave him 19 only gave him 1 and it was for an F bomb. Multiple adults and students have verified. Some people just ignore the truth.

Just to add some fact instead of talk. CJones. 27 years coaching football, 8 years DC Pleasant Grove, personal coach and mentor of linebacker Lucas Wacha NFL. Played strong safety at UAM one the defense that still holds the record for the most interceptions and best defense in school history. I believe that is the only football team in UAM to advance to national playoffs in their history. Coached linebackers at WOS and they went to the state title game. His strongest reference for AD and head FB coach was Cornell Thompson. Kirbyville has placed in the bottom 2 in team track every year for the last 3. So much for speed. The author of Purple Pride Never Dies commented "Kirbyville is playing harder than ever, they are on the verge of coming back". These are undisputed facts.

Our kids fought tooth and nail to the end. I did notice at the end 4 or 5 AP players were hurting and leaving the field limping or such. 3 years ago that would have been us. We make a lot of mistakes but we go hard.

I don't have the answers only the question. I do know an investigative reporter was told of such a meeting and is looking into it. The jest I got is that these coaches are not a submissive as they should be and would get the most agressive blues possible. This my question about predjudice.

Maybe in their feelings. What would it be if TASO had meetings and discussed targeting a couple or 3 coaches? Would that mean they are in their feelings?

Not many have another guy like White every year. They had 17 seniors. Anuhac had 15, East Chambers 20, Buna 13, Orangefield 20, Us 6.

A district championship next year might be a reach but being in the playoff hunt and having a chance every Friday is reasonable to expect.

Rykerx, this is a good post for Kirbyville. Some of the players frequent the forum often. Just some thoughts for fans that may not know. It was mentioned that we were young. We have 6 seniors I believe. 5 start. One of them was kicker only last year and wasn't planning to play. One of them didn't play last year. Newton lists 20, Lumberton 30, Anuhac 15, Hardin 17. And other food for thought, one of our players said last year when there was talk of Coach Jones returning "Coach Jones makes us feel unstoppable. He makes us think we can lift anything." So good things are coming.

Sold our soul. That's beyond foolish. The great Jack Alvarez took 3 years to have a winning season and he sure didn't have over half his team as sophomores. We thought we had more talent than that then too. I was one of the parents with a starting sophomore. Fact is we are a total of about 8 plays from being 4 and 2 but it's always that way when your rebuilding. Only 2 coaches that I know of have ever completely turned a program around. This coach has the same drive and work ethic that they do. They both took 3 years to get to the playoffs. It was explained to me very well by a waitress this week end. She graduated from Kirbyville about 20 years ago. She said she went to the community pep rally and was amazed at the size of our players. She said " I am bigger than most of them boys. They are tiny". We all have our ideas of change or different things that might help, but the truth is none of us has any first hand experience at it. Our staff has over 100 years of it. They work 7 days a week. Everybody said when we were on the hunt for a coach that we would give em time. After the hire we gave em 3 weeks. When you degrade the program publicly as with this forum, you hurt Kirbyville. If you truly have a problem, get an appointment and go talk to the man.

I hope we can agree to see what happens and meet back her 2 years from today and discuss it again. Coach Jones has more time as a coordinator of 4A program than Coach Neece had when he took over. Coach Neece followed Coach Alvarez. Coach Jones follows Coach Doughty. There is a difference in the work ethic of the kids and the strength program from one to the other. I'll be here and take the egg on my face if I have it coming. I hope everyone is willing to do the same. In 2020;we win district and beat Newton.

If 7 days a week vare half time to you then we definitely watching 2 different teams. Coach Jones was recruited and signed as a quarterback by UAM where he later played strong safety on the first national quarter finals team in their history. He brought the free safety and Hall of famer Coach Newcomb to Kirbyville to coach football. You obviously are misguided thinking football is secondary to him.

Where does the turnaround start. At all levels, slowly and painfully. I was president of the athletic club when what is heralded to be the best football coach Kirbyville has ever had, Jack Alverez took over. I had 2 boys playing and one who started the 3 years before. They were 0-20 the preceding 2 years so this is not the bottom.bwe have been to the bottom. Jack did not have a winning season untill the third year. It's slow and it hurts. We see improvement already. No flagrant personal fouls. Last year they were every game. No players down on the sidelines. We are struggling offensively but we don't have college prospects in there either. In three years Jack made the playoffs and started a trend. In three years this AD will be dominant in our district.

Where will the game be broadcast?

For anyone interested in Coach Jones' record. Google "2014 Wilbur Award winners Texarkana". Look for his name among the adult winners where his record is listed. He holds the record for living coaches for consecutive trips to the state tournament at 6 in a row. Only one other has ever done it and that was around 1960. He has been to 10 regional finals. 9 as a head coach and once as an assistant. The only trip Kirbyville has ever made was with him as assistant.
