  1. The playcalling has been bad for a decade. We've overcome with great defensive coaching and athletic plays on offense.
  2. They certainly have a chance at the district title. But my Mustangs aren't going to give it up without a serious fight.
  3. Kirbyville may very well take it this year. I certainly think WO-S will be right there with them up to the end, though. I'm very confident that this year's team will be strong, but 14 starters returning from a pretty good team will be tough to beat.
  4. Yes, it is what I think. That's why I posted it. Thanks.
  5. Losing Toby hurts, but not enough to cost us the district title.
  6. Very weak district, so I suppose Liberty has a shot. The team we saw in the first round last year would come in dead last in 21-3A.
  7. 1993: WO-S 84, Lincoln 0 1997: WO-S 63, Vidor 7 1997: WO-S 67, Lumberton 0 2004: WO-S 56, Orangefield 0 2005: WO-S 68, HJ 14 2006: WO-S 54, HF 0 2006: WO-S 62, HJ 0 2006: WO-S 60, Liberty 0
  8. Cornel Thompson at WO-S without a doubt.
  9. Toby is a great coach. However, WO-S's offense has been "in trouble" when it comes to playcalling for the past 10 years. The last few have been salvaged by talent on the field despite lousy playcalling, in my opinion. That talent will be there again this year. I'm not saying we're shoo-ins for the district title, but I wasn't saying that WITH Toby, either. It does suck to lose one of the best coaches on our staff, not to mention one of the better young coaches in the state.
  10. I'm glad, 89. We'll have a mobile QB who can take advantage, and the players have the system down.
  11. Well, if we move to the I, it will be a slightly different five plays (sweep right, sweep left, bomb, dive, ?). Fortunately, we still have players who can make those work even when the D knows what's coming.
  12. Is Brett Ramsay (sp) still a Bobcat, or did he move on? If he's still there, they'll certainly contend. I'd say the district title will be a tight race among WO-S, Kirbyville and Silsbee. Any one of the three could take it.
  13. Maybe, but, with no disrespect intended, it will take a big turnaround from this year's HJ defense - at least against the top teams. They gave up 62 to WO-S, 44 to Kirbyville, 45 to Orangefield, 36 to East Chambers...
  14. Will Toby be back next year? I hope so. He's an asset on offense when we really need one under our current OC. Toby should be the OC.
  15. Someone named bcrb bragging about BC's rbs? How unexpected.
  16. Yeah. Last year's Jasper team was the first truly pathetic Jasper team I can ever remember. They were awful. Brooks will definitely be an asset, but not enough to propel them past the established district powers.
  17. Please do move a 4.75 man to RB. We'd appreciate it .
  18. Until our OC goes bye-bye, you'd better root for our players, our D and our HC to pull us out of jams. Talent got us to 11-0. Two moronic, retarded, paint-sniffing calls at the goal line sent us to 11-1 instead of 12-0. We've been waiting for a change since. 99. It ain't gonna happen. We would have two state titles if it had (2000, 2006). Oh well.
  19. WO-S didn't get past the second round this year, but they were in the fourth round the year before. How is it that all of the players for the last three years are lumped in with this year's team? Bad playcalling killed this year's team. Now, they beat BC by 35, which is an embarrassment to BC, but when they faced a smart, talented, and quality team, a clutch-moment bad call cost them the game. Talent can only take you so far if offensive playcalling sucks. Think of it this way: with horrible playcalling, our talent alone beat the cards by five TDs. Didn't Johnathan Dishon go D1 to LSU? So WO-S is underachieving with two D1 players losing in round 2 with one loss. What is BC with one D1 player missing the playoffs completely and losing a whopping four games (that's one game over .500)? Good luck next year. P.S. You lost to Lumberton. Shame on you. Shame on your children's children.
  20. With all due respect, 444 yards and 4 scores isn't "unstoppable." Garrett averaged more than a yard more per carry and 13 more TDs.
  21. I still don't see them beating WO-S, Silsbee, Jasper or Kirbyville. For that matter, at least HF has Burrell returning. Good luck, and maybe they'll prove us wrong.
  22. Good luck in winning the distric. WO-S is not part of the distric, but should put up a fight (along with Silsbee and K-Ville) to win the district in football.
  23. Depauldrick Garrett should finally be the main man in WO-S's attack, even though he's had some SPECTACULAR plays and great stats sharing time with big Earl.
  24. I just can't find an inkling of belief that HF can be "at the top" over Jasper, Silsbee, WO-S and Kirbyville. Sorry. They might fight their rears off and end up in the playoffs, but not at the top. They lost by 54 to the team that won it this year and 42 to one of the runners up. Heck, they had less than 100 yards of offense against WO-S and gave up 440. Experienced or not, they sucked rear this year.
  25. If that's the order, I'll be dreaming, and Britney Spears will be President of the United States.
