2.
Greg Tepper and Travis Stewart, both of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football picks Coldspring to beat West Orange- Stark and to advance to State Simi-Finals On the subject of Top Football Players in Texas list I could only find two players and only one was playing in this game that was listed in the top recruiters list. For Coldspring Sherman Gilbert 4.5 40yd was listed as the 10th ranked RB in the state all though  Oklahoma State is recruiting him as an inside receiver. He also is listed as the 89th player in the Top 100 list. For WO-S the only player (ex-player) I could find was Justin Thomas was listed as the 41st DB in the state, but is ineligible to play because he is 20 years old. He was not listed in the Top 100 list. If there are other list please post for our friends we share this board with.
Well wait a minute here! Where is our 2005 State Championship trophy, Stang fans? Remember? We had Army All-American and Texas starting corner Deion Beasley, All-Star Texas safety (and first round pick of the Seattle Seahawks) Earl Thomas, Texas Tech starting receiver Jacoby Franks, and Lamar University star Andre Bevil among our players. Somehow, we got robbed! I totally forgot that Dave Campbell's Top 100 players are the only ones eligible for state title contention! Well pack it up, boys. We've NEVER faced stars like THIS UNBEATABLE COLDSPRING TROJANS team! How many Top 100 prospects did that BC team that you had a one-play win over have? Surely Lorena must have been LOADED with future NFL first-rounders in order to stay within six points of the mighty Trojans! Get back to me with a list!
We're not talking about running 40's ;D ;D ;D  Ya'll got some speedsters.  However, it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when Sherman Gilbert will cross the goal line during this Friday's game.
I agree. Backwards. Safety, anyone? ;) Kidding. Maybe.
 4.
Bolinger overcame a broken foot a couple of weeks ago and ran for 121 yards, his best game since his injury, while wearing the jersey of his best friend/brother/fallen teammate Matt Thomas. Can you really argue with that?
Yes :) Salter has come a long, long way this season.
 5. Salter overcame three INTs early in the game to throw for three TDs and run for two more, leading WO-S back to the fourth round. My vote is for Salter.
 6.
This thread might get 1,000 replies before it's done.  The long awaited matchup is here between the two best teams in the Region.  WOS has been putting up points like crazy lately, and Coldspring's scoring spree has come to a halt in the playoffs.  I'm still taking Coldspring in a low scoring battle 20-17.  Coldspring's defense is very good, and I think WOS will make the mistakes that doom them in a tight game.  Turnovers will be key.
Both teams are making crucial turnovers. Each had 5 this week. From listening to the cs game, they don't seem to be avoiding mistakes either. This one's going to be neck-and-neck.
 7. How many points has Coldspring scored in playoff form? Also, is it "Coldspring" or "Coldsprings?" I was pretty sure, but some of their most die-hard fans have me wondering.
 8.
With all that "speed" and "D1" talent WOS has, it would be a shock to them to get beat. When it does happen, be prepared to take it with more threads rubbing it in than Vidor.
As long as you're prepared to take it like a "man" if the tables end up turned.

Falconfanatic posted “I didn't post or agree with that. Especially since cs didn't score more points than wos did on Cleveland or bc”. Fact: Not True: Coldspring 61 Cleveland 0 - - WOS 58 Cleveland 14 Misleading indicator: Coldspring won by 61 net WOS won by 44 net In Bridge City game Coldspring won by 7 net, WOS won by 5 net.
Ok I thought cs only scored 55 vs Cleveland but I was right about the bc game wos scored more than cs did contrary to what the other guy said.
Sorry we didn't make it clear enough for you, but they beat Cleveland by 44 points and we beat Cleveland by 61...thats more points. ;D ;D  They beat BC by 5 points and we beat them by 7...or a difference of 2 points...thats more points too ;D ;D ;D
But that's not what the initial statement that you disputed said. It said WO-S scored more points, not WON BY more points. No addition, subtraction, or Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally needed. Just look at the total number of points WO-S scored against BC as compared to the total number of points CS scored against them. Besides that, every BC poster I've seen has predicted a WO-S victory.
Nope. His statement was that "cs didn't score more points than wos did on Cleveland or bc." You're right about Cleveland, but WO-S DID score more points on Bridge City. He didn't say ANYTHING about margin of victory. Essentially, CS was one big run away from a tied ballgame at the end of regulation against Bridge City. WO-S's kicker has made several from 40+ this year. I think this will be a very close game. Having said that, if CS falls behind early, I favor the Stangs bigtime. CS averages 300+ rushing per game and just 75 passing. The other night, their QB was 1 for 8 with 4 INTs. While Salter (WO-S) had several picks on Saturday (WO-S turned it over 5 times in the 45-13 win), the Mustangs have a much more balanced attack. Here's hoping for a safe journey for all and a great game!
 11.

Ive Seen Both Teams Play Coldsprings is a product of a fairly easy schedule WO-S has played 4A Nederland, 4A Friendswood, both loses were by 1 point to each of those 4A playoff teams, and with Giddings WO-S had the ball in the redzone 6 times and didnt sore for various reasons, not making excuses but in all those game WO-S was still trying to install the I Formation offenses after the giddings game WO-S returned back to the spread and started a dominating run, That was Derailed by injuries along the way which caused some games to be close but WO-S is a team on a mission keep in mind they have won all of there playoff games without there best player D-1 corner Dacarlos Renfro.. 5'10 175 4.3 forty.. another note WO-S has 3 Kids that run 4.3 fortys and about 6 that run 4.4's thats serious speed.. I think Coldsprings Gilbert is the only kid that can run with these guys.. And last but not least the best player on west oranges team was deemed ineligible before the season even started and that had alot to do with there early losses he was a special player.. But my predication is WO-S 17- Coldsprings 10
I don't know about the times that were clocked, but this team has won a few state track championships. I just have to laugh out loud when I here people talk about thier team having multiple kids running 4.4s and lower at the high school level. It's kinda like when you hear a kid throws 90 mph in baseball then you show up and they are topping out at 85. For some reason people feel the need to boost thier players abilities. Really 9 kids that run 4.4s idt there is a team in the nfl or college that has 9 guys that run 4.4s.

Cs has played a lot better opponents in the playoffs than wos has. Just like wos played better opponents in the regular season and struggled while cs rolled.
I could have bought that until 5-5 Lorena took CS to the brink... The "stiffer competition" thing went out the door with that one... Now, it doesn't matter. I'm a believer of 1 or 100, just win. But, you lost that angle when you almost lost to Lorena, sorry.
Almost lost? They were never even behind in the game, in fact I don't think cs has trailed at all durring the playoffs (maybe in the bellville game). Overall cs has played much tougher opponents in the playoffs than wos. Bc and bellville could beat everyone one of wos opponents and lorena would beat Cleveland and Columbus. BTW lorena's 5 losses were to grandview (9-2), lampass (10-2), kennedale (8-4) la Vega (11-1), and Robinson (9-3). 4 of thier losses la vega, Robinson, kennedale, and lampass they lost by a combined 15 points. They were blownout by grandville in the 2nd game of the season. It's not like lorena was that bad of a team.
We already went through this. We beat Bridge City.
 13. Coach T has coached WO-S in four state championship games, so he's got plenty of experience where that is concerned. As far as rankings go, they are pretty meaningless at this point in the year. I feel pretty darn good about our chances of beating CS.
 14. I agree, venom. I'm not saying we're world beaters. I'm saying that there was SO MUCH CS hype that I feel underwhelmed by the reality.

Coldsprings running back was out when they played bc. Stop making excuses. Venom33 that statement goes both ways.
Didn't he have their only TD on a 70+ yard run?
 16.

Not hating. Just noting that they are struggling mightily against "lesser" opponents week-in and week-out.
Weaker opponents? They played BC and 10-1 Bellville not exactly weak opponents. They didn't play cupcakes like wos did.
I didn't say weaker, I said lesser, and I meant "lesser" than the almighty Coldspring, not lesser than the teams we've played. I've got news for you, though: You played a team tonight that only won half of its regular season games and won pretty unconvincingly! WO-S also beat Bridge City, so don't go wagging that in our faces.
 17. Not hating. Just noting that they are struggling mightily against "lesser" opponents week-in and week-out.
 18. I'm going to start doing shots any time I hear "shakes and bakes" or "gobbled up."
 19. Coldspring may very well go on and win it all, but at this point, I don't see what all the hype was about. This is a team that was .500 on the season. Coldspring is up 6 with 7:11 left.
 20. Are we talking just this year? It seems that way. Either way, I would compare us to the Ravens.
 21.

I think the defense is gonna take us to Dallas and the offense will eventually get us going.  I think this will be another tough game.  No doubt these first two games have helped us tremendously learn some things about ourselves and improve at the same time. We are very fortunate to get past those two.  I'm really looking forward to a matchup against WOS if we can get past Lorena. I'm like most around here.  I just don't understand all the negativity from so many against us.  I root for all the area teams including the Mustangs.
Like to old saying when you are up someone is always trying to bring you down.  Its just haters wishing their football program was like ours. It's a total SHAME that there are even ADULTS wishing bad luck to KIDS !! I wonder if the shoe was on the other foot how would they feel.
Look, nobody is jealous of your "program." WO-S has been winning for 30+ years and has been a threat to go deep in most years. Call us in 10 years after you've continued succeeding and maybe we can talk about a "program." People here are "hating" on a team that has some insanely cocky fans after just a few years of success. Act like you've been there.
 22. I'm happy for Vidor, but yeah... a little overkill. There are lots of us still playing out there.
 23. Actually, I think the time they beat us was revenge for the two spankings they got from us in the few years prior.
