Anahuac girls run to state From City Reports Baytown Sun Published April 29, 2008 Ajante Russell qualified in three events to lead Anahuac’s girls’ track team to the May 9-10 UIL state track meet in Austin. At last weekend’s Region III-2A meet in Palestine, Russell won the long jump (17-1-1/2) and placed second in the 100 meters. She also ran on the second-place 4x200-meter relay. Other relay team members are Kia Moulton, Patience Green and Nacorian Thomas. Alternates are Celeste White and Caitlin Coward. Anahuac’s boys were led at regional by a sixth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay by the foursome of Stoney Burk, Trent Knupple, Blake Matheson and Pierre Russell. Others competing at regional for Anahuac’s boys were Juan Anguaino, Denario Williams, Deior McNeil, Aston Guillory, Dewan Childress, Zach Smith, Keith Kingsberry, Trevante Thomas, Devonte Outerbridge and Andrew Knupple. Other girls competing for Anahuac were Aracelly Rosillo, Jillian Speights, Andrea Roubion and Hunter Hightower.

Wow do you not know about how McNeese recruits the Lafayette area better than UL does? and has been for a while now. Like I said it would take Lamar at LEAST 10-15 years to be a CONSISTENT winning FCS team and only then should they think of going FBS. Lets say Lamar does go to FBS before they are a great FCS team and McNeese winning more times than not (b/c I think McNeese can be considered a great FCS team), do you honestly think that would put a sore to McNeese recruiting???? Lamar would either turn down a game with McNeese because they know they would not win or they would play the game and risk a little FCS team beating them. I'm just saying I've seen it happen before and I think Lamar's best bet is to stay FCS. I can't wait to see some great classy Lamar McNeese football games. McNeese recruiting never once went through my mind after hearing talk of Lamar getting football and then wanting to go FBS. Welcome to the site!!

Will Robinson dies, was first black coach of Division I program AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Basketball pioneer Will Robinson has died at 96. The Detroit Pistons said Robinson died Monday in a nursing home in Harper Woods. Pistons spokesman Matt Dobek said Robinson had been sick for 15 months and staying in a nursing home for more than a year. Robinson was the first black coach of a Division I program, leading Illinois State in the 1970s. He joined the Pistons as a scout in 1976. Robinson discovered Joe Dumars and Dennis Rodman, key players on Detroit's 1989 and 1990 NBA championship teams.
