Have watched some of these girls play for a long time. Great accomplishment for a great group of girls and coaches. Way to bring the 12U championship back to Texas.

The 12U Young Guns Softball team is looking for two quality players to help finish out the 12U season. This is a second year 12U team that will be moving up to 14U this September. We will be traveling to play in the USFA State Tourn. June 12th thru the 14th. We have had a highly successful season and are looking to finish strong. Both YG/Crush games were great games and watching two umps argue on the field and one ump sending another ump to the dugout for the rest of the game was quite comical.

We had a scenario that happened to us a few weeks ago that I have never seen happen before. Here it is.... One out with runners at 2nd and 3rd. ball is hit to center field and caught for the second out. runner at second tags up and runs to third but is thrown out by the centerfielder. the runner at third had already crossed the plate before the third out was made but DID NOT tag up so the ball was thrown to third and the appeal was made and the umps called the runner out for the fourth out. OK...the question is if the team on the field did not appeal the runner not tagging at third and just settled for the third out and went into the dugout what is the appropriate call from the umps if they know the runner did not tag? Is this a true triple play?.......Can you have 4 outs in one inning?....what would have happened if the appeal was not made? Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen before.

The 12U Young Guns will once again host a fund raiser round robin format tournament on March 28th and 29th at the Bellaire softball fields in Port Arthur. $75.00 entry per team plus umps, ASA rules with batt your line-up and free subs. The last tournament was a big success and lots of fun. 10U will be played on Saturday and Sunday (if needed both days)......JUST ADDED!!!!! 12U will be played on Saturday. 14U will be played on Sunday. Can anyone tell me the Tournament results for all age groups or just the top three or four teams in Bracket play and the consolation bracket? Also....most of the umps on fields A,B,and C Friday and Saturday where terrible Sundays umps where much better because they moved the umps from the older age groups down to A,B and C and sent the bad umps packing!! Maybe it was just me but we sure had some bad , inconsistent calls.
