Probably would have made the game worse. Interior Def last year for my Bulldogs was way down and we lost two starting LB's early in the season so running against Carthage was your best bet. Navasota tried to air it out as they always do and lost with some of the best WR's in the region. BC run game is legit for sure.

How many offers does Mannie have total? Kid is talented and has the attributes to really make a name for himself at the next level.

Tarkington is not like that have been in years previous. Silsbee should win this series, but stranger things have happened.

If its the same kid that plays basketball, he may be 6'4 but it sure doesn't appear that way on the court. I could be wrong.

Unbiased opinion of somebody fairly close to both programs, I'll go with Dayton this year by a Carranco field goal (or next man up).

What justifies doing nothing? As a former consultant, I know a lot about doing nothing and getting a paycheck. If the kids showed up, that's working. Available to perform an action = also working. There are a lot of grey clouds hovering over this discipline. I call BS. The rule itself is erroneous regardless and needs revision.

I played baseball for 13 yrs. Never heard of lifting weights during baseball season. I'd have to slap the coach if he asked me to do that. In any other sports, yes, I am the biggest advocate of lifting weights you will ever find, but not during baseball season, please.

Natural in what way? Like, they come out of the womb ready to play football? Or, they are a football town with rich tradition? I wonder if anyone in East Texas or DFW says that about any of the products we put on the fields in southeast Texas. WO-S, Newton, Jasper, Silsbee (even though 2 of those 4 mentioned are geographically considered East Texas).

Wanting it more generally has nothing to do with HS athletics. The kids are 99% of the time going to give it their all. It's quite possible they might not know "how" to win, or avoid costly mistakes. I've never understood that term, but I rarely understand the spectator anyway. Little Johnny's daddy is usually the guy saying the other team wanted it more, but we all know that Little Johnny's daddy just didn't provide little Johnny with the skills it took to get the job done. #BadGenetics Whats that ole' saying? You can't teach speed, or athleticism.

Carthage won game 2 and the series. The Lady Bulldogs will advance to play China Spring.
