I agree that Dayton gets to claim historical supremecy over Crosby due to total head-to-head win loss record. But just curious, how many years in a row does Code Red have to beat the Broncos before you admit that there's a new sheriff in town. We're up to 3. Is it 4? 5? 8? 10? Just curious.

Coach Ro (Not Rio2) is taking over football recruiting. Coach Nash will be OC & College & Career Advisor which is intended to help all students. There are some changes, but it appears The Code Red staff is getting stronger, but I agree, the proof is in the pudding.

A few Crosby fans were arrogant. The vast majority of Code Red fans believed we had a very good team. One of the best in 5A. One that could challenge for regional and state championships. I, for one, still believe that was true. I also know how hard it is to win 4/5/6 TX playoff football games. We played poor against a very good team and lost. Period. I am taking nothing for granted this year but I believe the COOGS will be very good again. I put the over/under in wins at 12 next year. Even with a tough pre district schedule. I do not think Crosby is Mecca. I believe we are a very good program with excellent coaches and great kids. If that makes us arrogant...Go Crosby!!!

Dayton will be a contender without a doubt. No sleeping on them from this Cougar fan. I do believe Crosby is the favorite, but lots of new kids in key places. Will depend on leadership, how the O-Line develops and how the defense comes along. I've never seen this many high caliber skill players at 1 time tho. If it clicks, Crosby will be the class of the field. If it doesn't or if the injury bug hits it will be a dog fight. Lots of ifs. But Dayton is a definite contender in my book. Not the favorite, but a contender.

Yep. Not sure how 21-5A getting 10 teams in all sports except football is fair. Why create an 8 & 10 team district? Why not two 9 team districts?

I agree. Some portrayed way too much confidence. No matter how good you are, winning a Texas High School Football Championship is extremely difficult. But don't take one persons comments as everyone's. I do think Crosby was one of the few teams in the area with a legitimate shot at winning it all. I still think we had a good enough team last year to have had a shot at it. We went 11-1. not bad but we never peaked last year. We played poor against a good ridge point team and they flat out deserved to beat us. I for one knew a state championship was far from certain but yes I thought we had a team that had the possibility. I think that's a good thing i think we actually have a shot at making a deep run again this year if some young players mature. But I also believe we could have an early exit if we don't take care of business. I hear what your saying about counting chickens before they hatch. Totally agree with you. But I am not apologetic that our program's goal is a state championship rather than just making the playoffs. I'd rather our boys fall short of that goal than achieve a much less significant one

I find it very amusing that some slam us for having State Championship aspirations. Perhaps we should set our goals at 6-4 and making the playoffs then beat our chest when we accomplish it. Wait. You've already got that covered.

Two points: 1. I agree with you. BH will make the playoffs. But with CE King moving up I thought BH would make the playoffs in 16 even if Gage remained. 2. BH made great HC and DC hires. They will be well coached and in the right position to make plays when Code Red runs right by them.

Oh how times have changed when others are happy that they were "still in the game" with the Cougars. 2013 / 2014 / 2015 / ??? I don't see the win streak stopping any time soon.

I'd say: 1) Crosby; 2) Dayton 3-4) BH, NC, Hum or KP First, I don't think Crosby over Dayton is a foregone conclusion. I think Dayton will be good. Crosby is interesting. Although Code Red looses a lot of lineman and has question marks on defense there will be 6-7 FBS players on the field for the Coogs. If the 2 WRs pick up the offers I'm expecting there will be D1 players at every offensive skill position. If the Coogs gel and some young kids step up on the front I don't see a district opponent beating them. I do see Dayton as the easy #2 and the only significant threat to Crosby. After that I have BH, NC, KP and Humble in a fight for the 3 & 4 spot but none of them challenging Crosby & Dayton at the top of the heap

Dayton is always a tough win. I'll take a win by 1 or by 40 vs the Broncos. Crosby vs Dayton winner last 3 years: 2015 - Crosby 2014 - Cougars 2013 - Code Red Go Crosby!!!

I agree with you. Although Crosby has been the dominant program since Riordan's arrival, Dayton still has to be considered the top dog in 21-5A. A 3 year run is great, but doesn't erase decades of history. BH & Dayton both had to make moves this off season bc Crosby was quickly distancing themselves as the front runner. BH will get better but they're a long way from competing for the top spot. If everything comes together just right, Dayton can compete immediately. Good hires by both BH and Dayton. Both programs will improve. The difference is the mindset in Crosby isn't what it used to be. For all of us it's important that 21-5A improve. I believe that Crosby, BH & Dayton have done their part. Hurry up Aug 2016!!!

Just to be clear,I think this hire is great. TW will improve BH. How much? None of us know. Crosby's improvement under Riordan has put pressure on others to improve, and they will. As all of us in 21-5A and SETX improve we're all forced to improve to keep up or in Crosby's case, stay ahead ;-). We shouldn't be satisfied with just beating each other. We need to beat the best in Texas. For that to happen we need to be the best in Texas. So thank you BH, you just helped us get closer to winning our first FB state championship :-) Seriously, it's good for all of us. Glad to see 21-5A getting stronger. Go Crosby!!!

Westerberg has accomplished more in his career than Riordsn and deserves to be held in higher esteem. Coogs (varsity) go undefeated vs BH for the foreseeable future (next 6 years). Wouldn't trade Riordan for Westbrook. No slam on Westbrook. Riordan is just our guy. The right guy for Crosby.

Great coach and kids who give it all they've got. I like it when Crosby, Dayton and BH are the top 3 in 21-5A. But still, Go Crosby!!!
