  1. Well by the NCAA rules which is what we go by, its in the rules that you still have the give the other team that ability to catch the football. if they are making a true attempt. Your right the ball is live and if the kickoff team gets to it first then their is no problem. The penalty is where the kickoff team hits the player trying to make an attempt on catching the football before it gets there. That's what they called on the field and its all based on your opinion as the official. At the end of the day its in the rules whether you like it or not and even I didn't realize that on a onside kick.
  2. you can still have catching inference without calling a fair catch, just think about a punt because it happens there a lot. If the defender hits before he can catch the return it, its a fifteen yard penalty.
  3. well if that's what they called, makes since on the 15 yard penalty then.
  4. From my understanding this is what was called on the field. The PNG player was in a positions to make the attempt but a Vidor player blasted him before he touched it. This was taken from the NCAA RULES, which also the same rules Texas High School Football follows. F. During a free kick a player of the receiving team in position to receive the ball has the same kick-catch and fair-catch protection whether the ball is kicked directly off the tee or is immediately driven to the ground, strikes the ground once and goes into the air in the manner of the ball kicked directly off the tee. G. Contact by Team A involving a targeting foul (Rules 9-1-3 and 9-1-4) or other personal foul that interferes with the receiver’s opportunity to catch a kick may be ruled either as interference or as a targeting or personal foul. The 15-yard penalty is enforced at the spot where the dead ball belongs to Team B or at the spot of the foul, at the option of Team B.
  5. Still butt hurt I see........yall did absolutely nothing in the second half. Just let it go, PNG won because they were the better team that night. Even if the score was 29-13 at halftime yall still didn't score another point and they still put over 40 on yall.
  6. Agree and PNG doesn't want Livingston in because they would probably go D1 and have to play 21-5a D1 #1 slot pending if PAM beats Vidor
  7. Well that could have some major impact and could even favor Nederland. I have them losing to Central but winning against OZEN which would still put them in over Nederland. Now with this outcome and Ozen find away to win could go to the three way tie.
  8. Well three are in, and one more spot open. 1.) PAM 2.) PNG/Vidor 3.) PNG/Vidor 4.) LIV/NED/CEN How's it going to turn out ? Central is on the outside looking in and Livingston has the forfeit over Nederland. From how I see it, Livingston wins out, they are in, Livingston losses one and Nederland wins out, they are in. Last scenario is a three way tie with Central winning out, Nederland and Livingston split their last two games with everybody being 4-4. I think that's correct
  9. All things aside appreciate the play by play, games over and sounds like both teams played till the end. I think yall are going to have a bunch of bulldog fans next week
  10. WOW....I knew I should have said you people who aren't talking about football
  11. HAHA......you heard here PNG only wins because they cheat and pay the officials. What a joke
  12. I love that you people think these guys are from Port Neches, I agree it was pass interference but with us not having a Beaumont Chapter anymore most official crews are coming from all over the place and mostly from the Houston area. They don't have any bias opinion on either team, its just part of the game good calls and bad calls.
  13. Might be yalls Achilles heal for a deep run, luckily yall have a great defense
  14. Hows the passing ball down field going? Really need to get that going before playoffs
