Just look at the D/FW area. Back in the day it was only a handful of elite teams, now everyone has moved to the metroplex and teams have gotten better. 3a on up.

Parity. You can be a average 5A team and take on say a Brownwood, Carthage or Chapel Hill and get beat in a close one (this past season)
