The guy is 29 years old. I'm not sure if it matters to all, but it would matter to me. What do yall think? Not saying he isn't the best guy for the job, but i would find it hard to believe even if he has 3 state championships that he had all the knowledge it take to be succesful.
Faircloth was only 31 when he came to PNG a couple of years ago...and I for one couldn't be happier with him. The key is what contacts they have to assemble a staff. Faircloth had been at Austin Westlake, Highland Park and Odessa Permian before getting the PNG job and was a graduate of Brownwood (HS Coaching Factory). So he had made a lot of friends in the business from winning programs that he was able to create his staff from. So the only drawback to being young is the lack of time to develop those leads. I would say if the guy has only been at Carthage it might be riskier.
let the truth be told! ;)
One of the downfalls of that, would be losing the element of surprise on handoffs. Being that far behind the line of scrimmage, it gives the linebackers a better look and more time and space to make a play. But, as yall said, TCU did it. On paper, it seems it wouldnt work, but on TV it did.
too much speed could make it work. those hosses from TCU was moving like their pants were on fire. I know one HS team that would make it work----LaMarque

State Championship show ups?
I was there at Jerry Jones stadium and it was tremendous. To the coaches who are against it, I ask you what sport in Texas allows coaches to decide the state championship other than football. For the public and teams (weather not a problem in dome and Dallas is the most central location with this type of stadium) it is best. All other forms of football have a designated place for the championship, check college and pro. I just wish the good Lord allows me to one day coach in this venue. Being there is much better than watching on TV. I met a lot of fans from all over Texas who follow HS football and loved it. :D
8) -
