I spoke with two of the LCM football players yesterday and they expressed the fact that they would be dissappointed if WOS was not on the schedule in 2010.  It just doesn't make sense that you would have two schools that have played this many times and are within 10 miles of each other that are not playing against each other.  I think that the ENTIRE community is being robbed of watching this contest!!!  I truly hope that the powers that be can work this game onto the schedule!!

I'm not sure what the reasoning could be for these two teams not to play, but it will not be a good thing for the community if these two teams don't play.  I will use the BISD schools as an example, West Brook, Ozen, and Central play each other every year.  Not only does it bring in money and good local games for the community, but it makes ALL the schools better.  I attended the WOS/LCM game last year, and I must say I was VERY impressed with the Bears and look forward to the game every year.  I know that most of our community enjoys the game as well.  I think it would not really make since for this game not to be played.

I didn't think there was much truth to it! 

I was just told yesterday that LCM will not continue to play WOS in football.  Does anyone know anything about this?  Where you at COOP?

I have been a Mustang Fan my entire life and I can honestly say that is the funniest thing I have ever seen!!

If the program is correct this is what the Mustangs put on the field on Friday. The OL #53 Sr, #72 Jr, #65 Jr, #67 Jr, #68 Jr, and #51 Jr. Wr's and TE's that Started the game were #7 Sr, #18 Jr, #85 Sr, and #19 So. QB #12 is a Jr and TB #43 is a So. This is a VERY young team. Trust me the Stangs will get better!

Some of our Mustang fans have a VERY short memory! In 2007, we started the season with a 22 - 14 victory against Dayton, a 6 - 0 victory against lcm, and a 12 - 15 loss to bay city. Neither Bay City nor lcm made the playoffs that year. We then went on to make it to the third round of the playoffs where we lost 21 - 13 to Waco La Vega. Trust me when I say that both Kirbyville and Jasper of 2009 are better than those two teams were. We will be just fine! By the way we have not scored more than 21 points on Silsbee in the last three years. So the odds of us hanging 60 is not very good.

WOS has lost three coaches, but ZERO players!! I asked one the coaches yesterday about that!

WOS has only been in 3A for five years and have played in the 4A State game four times and won it twice. So try some other reason why the Mustang program is not superior to most! Year in and year out we still beat the Neds, Daytons, and Bay City's. There are ALOT of schools who wont put us on the schedule, because they have nothing to gain from getting beat by a smaller school!

Ironically, Verril Young, Freddie Strange, and Pat Mathews(The Lamar Consolidated Guy) all have coached at WOS in the past six years.

This one is for you aggiesarewe! I know some people would call the TAKE A KNEE play! You definately earned and deserved that one!

I was impressed with the Mustangs times I read in the paper. Keep up the good work!

For a school that doesn't care about anything but football WOS has done things NOBODY has done in the area!! In 2005 our football team won Region III, in 2006 our boys basketball team won Region III, and in 2007 our boys track team won Region III. I will admit since dropping down to 3A our baseball team has not produced much at all. On the girls end of it our girls basketball team played in the Region III final game in 2005 & 2007, also winning two district titles in those years! Our Softball team has been to the playoffs the last three years and went a few rounds last year. Our girls track team has sent members to the regional meet for many straight years. Don't get me wrong our football team is 45 - 5 over the last four years, but what other school has won three different regional titles in a three year span!! Pardon me for asking but what has Silsbee and Evadale EVER done????????????? Jealousy is eating you guys up!

Sounds like the AD Hooks should get more involved. Ironically aggieboy the soccer coach came from silsbee. Now that is comical to me!!

They don't bus over there either. I was not intending that statement as a result of the busing, but as a result of the taks issue! I GAURANTEE you can't find five school districts in the entire state that have this requirement!

I have a prediction, the talent and enrollment of LCM is fixing to go WAY up!!

77, Tune in to channel 4, 6, or 12 when WOCCISD has their next board meeting and you will see just how many people in the community are getting involved. I can ASSURE you that it will be 4 or 5 times more than 20! It is ashame that all this has happened, but it may be a wake up call to our community on the shady things that have been happening. I can PROMISE you that we will not go away until their is some type of action taken on some of these matters.

Two words that should describe coach "hurricane" moody's contract at mlc, BUY OUT!! hurricane moody is a disgrace to his team, his town, his school, and his family!! This guy definately needs to let in on a little secret, THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL HE WILL EVER COACH PAST HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!!!! What a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am just returning from evacuation and just learning of this garbage, but you better believe as a season ticket holder that I will be calling mlc tommorrow and finding out about a refund. Since this was not a weather cancelation, but a coward cancelation they should pay me my money!!! I GAURANTEE YOU I WONT BE THE ONLY ONE MAKING THE CALL!!

WOS95, I do agree in some of the things you said, but it would be awful hard to argue who actually was the best ever mustang. I think you got about a list of 5 to 10 guys who are very close. Thats just my opinion!!

I believe if I heard correctly Toby has already started with the 7 on 7 guys. I was told that the 7 on 7 Tourny is alot earlier this year, and we will have to travel a little further to Diboll. Never the less, glad to have Young Foreman back and looking forward to me and the boys heading up 69 South to see the Stangs represent in the Diboll Tourny.

Notice that Dayton has taken us off the schedule!!
