  1. The 7-6 score against North Shore was not accurate (the Chronicle had that score on their website). BH and North Shore actually tied 7-7. BH was awarded third on a tie-breaker.
  2. Barbers Hill lost to Elkins 12-0. BH then defeated North Shore 7-6 for third. Belaire then defeated Elkins for the championship.
  3. Thanks for the info EAGLE07. I saw the scores on the Chronicle and was trying to find out who won between Elkins-FB Baptist. That winner played Stratford with the winner playing BH.
  4. The first was a pop up in front of home plate that wasn't caught. The second was committed on a the shortstop when he threw home to get the runner from third and the throw was low going to the backstop allowing another runner to score. The third was on the centerfielder on a fly ball that he misplayed. And the fourth occurred on a sacrifice bunt to the third baseman in which his throw was low and the batter was safe. These were my rulings according to the way I saw the plays.
  5. H-J scored 3 in top of 6th for a 6-5 lead. BH scored 2 in the bottom of 7th with the help of a lead-off 2 base error by the centerfielder. A double by sophmore Alex Rocha scored the tying run, a sacrifice put the runner on third and the winning run scored on a fly ball over a drawn in outfield. I thought the H-J pitchers did an admirable job of pitching out of problems. BH had 11 LOB through 6 innings. H-J line score: 6 runs - 6 hits - 4 errors LP - Josh Alfaro BH line score: 7 runs - 6 hits - 1 error WP - Ross Hales Other Pitchers: H-J - Taylor Monse, Josh Rogers, Dylan Lundy BH - Kendall Thamm, Hunter Silva, Jonathan Kelly, Derek Hulsey
  6. Barbers Hill 8 Flower Mound 8 - top of the 6th - Time is about to run out. And I have to leave for College Station so I hope somebody can update the final score.
  7. Barbers Hill 7 Flower Mound 3 bottom 4th - Derek Hulsey pitching - Has begun to have control problems - Walked 3 & hit 2 batters.
  8. Early in Game - Barbers Hill 7 Flower Mound 1 - Jake Ponder Grand Slam
  9. Thanks EAGLE07. If you don't mind, I will post your report on my website. Below is a link to the Houston Christian website on the tournament. [Hidden Content]
  10. Good job Eagles. Hope you have a good game against Houston Christian and then hang tough against Flower Mound.
  11. Three Junior pitchers combine on a 3 hit shutout. Game was played in 1 1/2 hours. No errors were committed by either tema and only like 2 walks. BH pitchers struckout 7 and the Bay City pitcher had about the same. Very unusual opening day contest. Hunter Silva got the win and Ross Hales pitched the final inning for the save.
  12. With Crosby defeating Lamar Consolidated 43-38, Lumberton will face Crosby in the next round of the playoffs.
  13. BH will play the winner of Dickinson and Bmt. Central.
  14. They played an inelgible player against BH. I was told a player came back one game too soon after having grade problems.
  15. With the recent forfeit by Crosby, BH ups their district record to 14-0 and 25-6 for the season.
  16. Barbers Hill had 2 that committed today. Brittany Connally signs with Houston Baptist University Courtney Johnson signs with St. Thomas Univertisy in Houston This makes 10 in 5 years who have gone on from Coach John Leonard's program. (Two others from past years had offers but decided not to leave town.) Casey Mulryan signed with University of St. Thomas
  17. Barbers Hill took the Goose Creek Invitational with a team score of 328. LaPorte shot a 339 for second and Atascocita was third with 340. BH's Matt Stephens shot a 77 for second medalist.
  18. Thanks for the info. Looks like Westbrook just needed a 4th.
  19. Barbers Hill 66 Smiley 40. BH captures 21-4A title. And if I have my facts right, this marks the 18th consecutive state playoff appearance.

  22. Barbers Hill goes to 10-0 and 21-6. Will play at Crosby Friday.
  23. Not only does BH catch Westbrook but they also play Flower Mound who is ranked #4 in Class 5A by Jason Becker.
  24. Well, the smack I saw was a Lamar player planting an elbow into the face of a Sam Houston player. The Fox commentators wondered why it wasn't called a flagrant foul. I guess no blood, no worries.
