Navasota by a WHOLE LOT!!

Orangefield Lady Cats had a GREAT season and we are all proud of your accomplishments!! True, we would have all liked to have made the trip to Sam Houston but Navasota had our number this year. You are still to be commended on an incredible year! One thing I'm thankful for is the refs didn't take this game away from you, Navasota just played better. You never could get "your" game going but hopefully you gained something from it for next year. Rumor has it their coach had game videos on the Lady Cats but asked other teams not to share their game videos with us. If this is true, they may have had a slight advantage but they beat us with their stifling defense. And Bobcat05, I agree with you on the coin toss.

Good Luck HJ! Orangefield fans are rooting for you, at least until if/when we meet up again.

Yes he is still here, hope that he sticks around a few more years. I would imagine that BH will do all they can to keep Coach Toon around. He has done an excellent job with BH basketball. Y'all are lucky!!

Yeah he is one heck of a great coach and IMO Orangefield screwed up big time...our boys team now has lots of talent but NO discipline. The team of '04 - '05 at Orangefield actually went to the playoffs that year...first time in 50+ years. Unfortunately that was Coach Toon's last year there but they played great "team ball" under his direction. We miss him!! Good Luck to your Eagles.

Is Coach Toon still the coach? He did a great job the short time he was at Orangefield. The biggest mistake OF made was letting him go, they should have begged and pleaded and given him a raise to keep him there, the boy's program suffered when he left. One things for sure...his team is always disciplined!

That's what several of us have stated in posts after posts...prevent it from happening again! A mere slap on the wrist won't deter the next talented kid from trying to do it because they'll know it's just a 2 game suspension so why not take the risk?!?! I haven't bashed BISD but I think it definitely speaks volume how much more important winning is than learning life's lesson at an early age so they won't want to risk their talent and ruin their future.

Ok, I see a serious problem. Has anyone else noticed the Ozen posters use REALLY good grammar and excellent punctuation. They have a spell check feature, USE IT. Amen, the grammer, spelling and punctuation is awful. But they can play some basketball. And stop with the race card issue already...jeez it's way overused!!!!!!!

This just sickens me to read comments like this about a KID..I mean he is just a KID. Sounds like your bitter that you didnt get your chance to recieve that DODGEBALL scholarship to that Junior College when you graduated.. Like the kids say you must be a HATER... I don't hate the kid, I hate the game. The game of not having to account for your actions because you have received a God-given talent and don't appreciate it enough to do the right thing. They don't see that they're flushing away the opportunity of a lifetime because they would rather sneak around doing illegal misdeeds. Hopefully this young man will learn from this and take it with him, but if the consequences aren't very severe he'll be like the rest of the athletes that think they can get away with anything and everything. And then they think a simple "I'm sorry" fixes everything. And Bobcat05, I certainly did play Dodgeball, AND received a scholarship to a Junior College. We also happened to win 2 National Titles my Junior and Senior years...but the most important thing I received was an education for which I am PROUD to say I can read and write and am productive in society. Wonder how long it will take him to screw up at Baylor and lose his scholarship? He probably didn't learn a lesson during his high school years so we'll be hearing about him on the news along with the rest of the nation. But of course it will be someone else's fault because he can't be held accountable for his own actions, not this day and age!!

Typical BISD. hahaha you guys are pitiful oh well BISD will still remain the best school district in the area......no matter what you guys on here think So exactly where do y'all rank in academics because that is the most important thing, whether you can read and write, not just be good in athletics. Are you academically recognized by the state standards or just good at sports?

PERMANENTLY          You bet I guess if it was your kid, you would want him kicked off the team permanently as well. I agree he should be punished, however, I can't get over the anger in some of these post. Pretty amazing the hatred I am feeling. the reason being these guys hate that ozens wins and is a powerhouse and is tired of seeing the dynasty so they want one of their star players kicked off the team so we will be slowed down a bit but its official willie will be suspended for two games and be back for the playoffs......enough said i'll be praying for you big willie and hope you dont get caught up in this mess again I personally could care less which school he plays for and care even less about "Ozen's Dynasty" but the fact still remains..he screwed up and it's no one's fault but his own. He let down his teammates, his school and his community by choosing to get involved in this mess. Two game suspension but can come back for the playoffs...what a joke!!!!! That ought to really teach him he has to follow the rules...NOT!!

DV, PLEASE stop with your "Good ol boy SE Texas" stuff, this happens everywhere...and if it's so bad here, you're free to pack and take up residency in some other part of the state or country. It sounds like you will defend his offense and character 'til the end...and it's your choice...but not everyone thinks that athletes should be able to "do no wrong" because they have great talent. That's a lot of the problem with some professional and collegiate athletes...they weren't made to face consequences of poor decisions when they were younger, and if he isn't made to now, he will end up making national news (instead of the Beaumont Enterprise) doing the same thing because he got away with it in high school. Then his future will surely be bleak!

It says he was busted on January 26th...is this the correct date? If so what was he doing in Orange on a Monday night anyway? Probably up to no good.

I hate to break it to you but kicking a kid off of a basketball team when he is going to play college football is hardly destroying him. It is teaching him the difference between right and wrong! Until you take something important away you wont learn! OK, but what do you take away from ole "JOE BLOW" that plays NOTHING, sells pot, gets arrested and is at school everyday? Do you even find out about those kids? Probably not, unless he KILLS someone. They end up in the prison system.... :'(

From all the posts I've read it sounds like "someone" is on a power-trip of some sort, and exercising his authority. Of course I don't have a dog in this fight but it does seem ridiculous to make such a fuss over a dry erase board if they aren't stepping over the line.

Yeah I'm still laughing. I have watched many basketball games in my life but NEVER have I seen a player high-five the ref that just called her 5th foul to foul her out of the game. Fouling out - $0 Shaking the coach's hand - $0 High-fiving the ref... PRICELESS!!! ;D ;D ;D

I agree skyhcky...they are capable of beating anyone but they ALL have to come out to play all 4 quarters, especially against HJ. The hawks will eat them up if OF only has 1 or 2 good quarters. It should be a very interesting game if both teams are playing as well as we know they are capable of. Get there early if you want a seat...it ALWAYS packs out.
