2. If something concrete can be formed then Ive got one boat for sure, might be able to make that 2.  Needs to be pre-paid though.

No matter where the pitch is thrown, this should be a strike, correct? Situation where batter's stance had his back foot behind the back line of the batter's box...umpire didn't notice it at the time, but this is just for future reference. Thanks in advance
Yes it is a strike  Most of the time this is called because a batter thought he had time and stepped out of the box when a pitch was thrown. Now remember this also, a batters foot must be entirely out of the box. Any part of the foot on the chaulk is legal.
Again, so even if the pitcher throws the ball through the opposite batters box and to the backstop its still a strike just becasue the hitter steps out?  He still has to deliver the ball in the strike zone.

 6.
100 pitches is not a lot if the kid has proper form and is in shape.....when they get to 120 then the red light needs to come on in a coach’s mind........ THE KEY THING IS REST AFTER  And duringThere are things a kid can do to prevent injury... ice and run.... these will get the acidity out of his muscle that causes damage...
Rest after and During.  Again its not necessiarily the over all total number of pitches thrown during the game.  Examine how the pitcher gets to that number. Pitcher A                                              Pitcher B 1. 16                                                   1. 30 2. 17                                                   2. 28 3. 20                                                   3. 32 4. 15                                                   4. Pulled from game 5. 16 6. 15 7. 16 pitcher A throws a total of 115 pitches, a high volume yes.  Pitcher B is pulled before he reaches 100.  Pitcher B is working much longer innings and probably getting shorter rest between half innings.  Less focus should be put on the final product of a pitch count and more on how a player arrives at that total.  If your team is not spending alot of time hitting each inning then your pitcher is getting less down time and is going to tire faster.
 7. Pitch count can be the most decieving stats in the game.  Its not the grand total number of pitches thrown in a game but more the total thrown in each inning.  What is worse a pitcher throwing 105 pitches in 7 complete innings or setting a pitch count of 70 and them reaching that after 3 innings?  Even at that its all relative to the individual athlete and their conditioning level.  If a kid is on the mound laboring and works a couple high pitch innings he is much more suseptable to injury than a pitcher who throws innings in under 20 pitches.
 8.
For those of you baseball savvy, PNG errors last night did not, I said did not cost a single run!!  Just go back and read the awesome scorekeeping done by Admin ;).  Hats off to Lumberton, they hit the ball very well when they needed it to.
Every error that is made in the course of the game changes the game.  If an error allows a player to reach instead of an out recorded that means an extra hitter coming to the plate wich will turn the order over more often.  So while a certian error may not lead to a run that inning it does contribute.
 9. I think it comes down to passion for the game and wanting to "know" the entire craft.  Too many times i see guys wait for the ball instead of attacking and playing the routine ground ball rather than letting it play them.  Dont worry about making it look good just make the play.
 10.
Runner on first. The batter bunts, the home plate umpire calls dead ball - ball hit the bat. The third baseman meanwhile fielded the ball and overthrew first, the runners went to 3rd and 2nd.  The home plate umpire then ask the field umpire if the ball hit the bat. The field umpire said no. What is the correct call? Leave the runners on 3rd and 2nd, bring the runner back to first and batter back to the plate with one strike, bring the runners to 1st and 2nd, or play the pitch over (bring runner back to 1st and batter back with no count).
if the ball was deamed to hit the batter then the runners are 1st and 2nd.  The play was automatically dead when the umpire called dead ball.  If the batter attemted to actually bunt the ball then it is a dead ball strike runner would return to 1st and play would resume with a strike added to the count same batter.
 11. Good way to start the season, best of luck Ross
 12. In that Article at the end Gleen Flesig was quoted saying, “I’m not saying, everyone throw the curveball,”  “I’m saying, if we’re going to prevent injuries, change the focus. We should be looking at overuse.” Thats the biggest problem in my opinion.  Some of these kids do not get much "down" time

 14. Congrats Kyle.  Your hard work deserves reward.  May you enjoy your time and excell at the next level.
 15.
Well, they added another utility guy in getting Clint Barmes for Paulino. Seems like they have had a whole roster full of these guys since the 06 season. Still love the stros but just can't watch them as long as lee is still around. [s]Plays[/s] acts to much like Manny.
They are moving in a good direction i think.  Good young talent showed by Johnson and Castro.  I correct your statement about Lee, if he hit like Manny would be more tolerable.
 16. Baggs probably not a first ballot guy but imo is a hall of famer.  For a stretch of about 7 or so years was considered one of the games if not the games best 1st sacker.  I dont know that playing in Minute Maid his entire career would have scewed his numbers that greatly already pretty dang good.  Good ambasador and consistantly elite performer  he gets my vote.  On a side not brought up by bb25,  Palmerio would get my vote as well.
 17.
I was at the game in support of my Stangs and never have I felt the “Eye in the Sky” more so than I felt it at BC. Maybe...just maybe the BC Police Dept. was in cahoots with the officials and new something was about to happen that would P.O. us unruly WO-S fans?!  I do know this…the officiating crew received a bit of a WARNING before the second half began, and the phantom penalties stopped. Go figure, right?  ???
::) ::) ::)
 18. anyone else care to beat on their chest and tell us how wonderful a human they are? ;D :D ::)
 19. my money is on a philly - tb remach, philly taking it all again.  They are tough to match up with the 1-3 starters and they can absolutley hit.  Will be interesting as these players age if the phills can keep this dominance going or if they will go through their own "rebuilding" stage.
 20.
I agree with Blum needing more playing time at third. I agree were stuck with Lee but he doesn't have to play. Give Micheals more playing time, can't hurt. Not one starter hitting 300. I still think it was a major screw up not trading Tejada in the second half of last season. It's hard to rate a coach with as little to work with as he has but I haven't seen much from him to be impressed with.
Blum can't hit lefties,  Michaels hasn't ever hit more than .200 in a season.  What is needed is a big influx of some young talent and that happens through the draft and trades.  The astros haven't drafted very well in recent years and the majority of their trades have been trying to get players to"win now" and that has wired out horribly.  Spending money isn't the problem they have one of the highest payrolls in MLB.  It's how the money is allotted.  Too much is tied up in too few individuals.  Timmy P put the club in a big hole with his inability toanage the front office.
 21.
Dodgers reportedly interested in roy o. I was hoping for pinstripes
He already wears pinstripes Gabe. ;)  Seriously why shouldn't he want to be traded.  The club went from being competitive every year to being a team that fields 6-7 utility players as starters.  If they can get what he is worth in return in my eyes the Stros would be fools not to deal him, and Berkman for that matter.
 22. Should be a well contested well played series between the two.
 23.
Just a reminder to all those high school players who see this..... that is illegal in high school. No hurdling, diving, or jumping over a fielder. You are out for doing this. Some of you may ask why, it is a safety concern so no one gets spiked in the head. With all that said it was amazing how high the runner leaped over the catcher .
Really?  I always understood the rule on that to be you had to avoid malicious contact with another player.  Unless a rule had been changed even with malicious contact the runner is not automatically out, though ejected im sure.
