  1. Again not really a shocker here. The substance was not banned by the sport, and to my knowlege was not illegal and still is not when Pettite said he took it. Why is that a big deal? If you do not want players taking things to help them recover, or improve their abilities then ban the substance. Do not fault a player for playing within the rules of the era.
  2. The majority of the blame should fall squarely on the shoulders of the players who took STEROIDS. Steroids have been illegal long before MLB finally decided to put them on a banned substance list. As for other performance enhancing substances such as Andro and HGH that is the primary fault of MLB. They dragged their feet on implementing a testing process, and on banning substances such as these. If a substance can help me, is not illegal, and is not banned by the governing body of my sport why would I not take it? The problem of perfermance enhancing drugs in baseball is not a new thing. It has been prevelant for many many years. Do not fool yourself into thinking that players in the past were not taking things to help them through the seasons. I have heard on more than one occaision past players speaking on amphetamiens (SP?). Those seemed to be readily available to players in the locker rooms in the past, and if i am not mistaken are now banned by MLB. Everything has to be put into perspective when looking at this situation.
  3. Bagwell wouldn't really be a surprise for me honestly. Looking at the end of his career when he was playing with a very painful shoulder, there is no way he wan't on something to help with the pain and loss of strength. That however doesn't mean what he did was illegal. Very possibly wasn't even against the rules of baseball depending on when he used or if he even really used. That is my biggest problem with this report. I mean who really cares who did it now. Everyone knows a vast majority probably did. The thing that needs to be done is to keep the game as clean as possible now and in the future.
  4. Read the same list on the same forum you did. As for all the names listed I really would not be surprised, but i take anything coming from that forum with a grain of salt.
  5. Of course the owners and PA looked the other way, it didn't take a senator doing an investigation to prove that to me. On topic though, werent the clubs provided a copy of the report a couple days ago? And if so why would the Astros go through with a deal to aquire a guy who is on the report. Anyone know if there will be any possible suspensions handed down as a result of this?
  6. Hey Admin, who is the last guy you have pictured? ??? ;D ;D
  7. I really didn't want them to include Patton in a deal either but if im not mistaken Tejada is locked up for at least 3 years. Im assuming he will move to third now? At least if it were my call he would be, cannot take everett off of short. As much as this will help the offensive output this coming season they do still need to address the pitching situation. Somehow, somewhere they have to come up with at least 1 more quality starter, or I fear we are looking at another .500 or worse season
  8. Does your shrink also wear one of those white collars you see on dogs to keep them from biting themselves? ;D
  9. Im not saying Matsui is the best thing out there. I am saying that he is a far cry better than Chris Burke. Matsui hit .288 last season double digit steals and carries a stout glove. Burke on the other hand hit a whopping .229 i think, if it was even that high. Burke has had his opportunity to show what he is capable of. No doubt that he has great potential, Ive seen that much in him, but seems he does not want to accept his a gap to gap hitter and not a power man.
  10. Hey circle do you always ask questions to answer yourself : ;D
  11. While this is definetly a good signing by the stros, keeps Burke's worthless rearend off the field, i would warn everyone from getting TOO excited about next season. They still have not sufficently addressed their pitching woes. As for the Ichi-Rolls, i doubt that happens. Drayton will just put one of those Japanese returants in the luxury boxes, you know the ones they throw food at you ;D
  12. THUMP THUMP THUMP... had to put my ear close to the gym but yep i still hear them orange balls hitting the floor ;D
  13. Considering you have yet to have an official practice, and it is still NOVEMBER i am sure that coach bryant said nothing of the sorts. THUMP THUMP THUMP, listen do you hear it? Its the sounds of basketballs in the gym ;D
  14. whatever team is the hottest come playoff time and wins the most playoff games will go the deepest this year
  15. sounded more like a 92 mph 2 seamer for strike 3 there to me ;D
  16. Much better to ruin a year rather than a life don't you think? Playing HS sports is not the peak of the mountain, is only the begining of the climb.
  17. If this is really going to be left totally to the school board then hopefully many people will show up in support of the effort. Schedulling permitting i will be there in a show of support. When is this board meeting when the idea will be presented?
  18. I believe they are referring to #86 on Silsbee's football team
  19. Sitting in the stands one friday evening watching a local team trying to qualify for the playoffs. They hadn't had the best of games up to that point and fans were letting the coach know they weren't pleased. They had just scored to take the lead. On the insuing kickoff, the kicker misstepped and barely kicked the top of the ball and the ball went a total of 2 yards maybe. Someone sitting above me started screamin "come on COACH[what was that?" : To this day i am sure the coach told his kicker to give the opposing team the ball at the 50, Im sure of it! ;D
  20. I have to go with Holliday, just great solid year from him. Not to discredit Rollins though he had a great year also
  21. A fitting end with his final AB. A routine ground out to 3rd and the throw only beat him by a step at best. How many "established" big leaguers do you see running down the line like that on a routine ball these days? He was a great example of how to approach the game. Im happy i got to spend a large part of my life watching this man play the game. Thanks Craig, you were definetly fun to watch.
  22. Vernon "Chuck Young, and Charles Miller BC. Cannot discredit those who have said Coach Thacker and Coach Woodall either.
  23. I agree, a little over the top. But understandable
