Sorry FOOTBALLFEVER, but if the kids need a run through and smoke to get them excited maybe they shouldnt be playing the game.  Your reasoning  "Hey get them a run thru and blow the smoke if thats what they want" is what is wrong with a lot of kids these days. How big is Katy's run through?  They dont have one.  Maybe more can be done to excite the kids but I think Price did a good job when I played there and we even went 3 deep without smoke and a run through. 

bh89-2 he should have said that then, he chose to use other words.  He knows it was a shot at Price and in my professional opinion he should have said something different.  He implied Price is not a good coach when in fact he is.  Many of you do not know the things Poole has done in the past, and some of them are not very impressive.  I am referring to his duties as a former head football coach and principal.

Dr. Poole is acting like a  jerk.  Him saying "We're going to get a real good coach in here" is a direct shot at Coach Price.  They may not have seen eye to eye but that comment was out of line.  And for the people who are not going to agree with me, Poole should have stated something along the lines of....We will hire the most qualified applicant for this job.  

This was taken from another site that has posted the BH job: Job Requirements: The Athletic Director will work with the entire coaching staff to ensure that all sports and athletes are treated fairly. The Athletic Director will ensure that all athletic games are scheduled in a timely manner and that all facilities are prepared for events that are hosted at BHISD. The Athletic Director will create an athletic handbook which outlines the policies and guidelines that all participants are expected to follow. The Athletic Director will work cooperatively with the high school and middle school principals to create a strong focus on academics as well as athletics. Additionally, the Athletic Director create positive parent and community relationships to ensure that the athletic program is viewed by all as a program which focuses on student achievement and success. All of this was already being done to an exceptional level.  The only part that a few people have complained about is "create positive parent and community relationships to ensure that the athletic program is viewed by all as a program which focuses on student achievement and success".  The only reason that people have complained about it because only a select few do not think Price was giving their kids a fair chance.  I would say to those parents, get over yourself and look at your kid realistically.  I know one parent on the school board who's sole purpose was to run Price out of town because she thinks her son was treated unfairly in baseball a few years ago.  They need to move back to North Shore, BH was better without her and her husband. Good luck to the next guy they hire, he will need it.

The Director of Athletics shall have the responsibility of general supervision and coordination of the competitive sports program of the Middle and Senior High Schools of the BHISD. It is to this director that the coaches shall look for direction, guidance and assistance in the improvement and effective operation of the athletic program. The Athletic Director shall establish the best possible relations with the school administration, faculty, students, parents and the community in general and to strive that all may look toward the athletic department with pride. The Athletic Director shall support the policies and practices of BHISD. Dr. Poole and the Board are a joke at BH. 

Aymond is already making over 100K, so money will not be the issue, he is making plenty of it.  By the way, North Shore should have more than one state title on their hands with all the D1 athletes they pump out each year.  They may be ready to see him go, but he would be coaching a different kind of kid at BH than NS. 

Good post Eric, but there is more than ONE board member who's priority if basketball.  And lets not forget the Principal of the BH, he is a basketball guru as well.

MHS32, even CE King has installed turf and a video scoreboard.  Looks like it is NF and BH vying for the worst field now. Back to the topic......I hope they hire a proven winner and not just one of Poole's old coaching buddies.

BHpride, you are correct about the turf.  I think turf will happen not long after a new AD/HC is hired.  BH has the money right now to install a new turf surface but Dr. Poole and the Board have rejected it many times.  This is one of those deals that when the new guy gets here and asks for turf he will get it.  Its pretty embarrasing when BH spent over a million dollars on the Fieldhouse a few years ago for upgrades but still play on one of the worst surface in SE Texas. 

The kids are BH are very much encouraged, inspired, and positively reinforced.  What does this have to do with being a D1 recruit? 

kindafunny, that may be one of the most ridiculous statements I have ever read on here.  Believe me, every kid has been coached.  And a question for you...how do you coach a kid "as if they have the ability to be a D1 player"? 

gman71, I think that they may turn on each other.  Why do you think Rotan left?  He was a great super and even better person.

I would not be suprised if this costs the Superintendent his job in the long run. 

You are correct BHFan, Coach Price will move on and be a head coach again very soon.  I will state as others have said though, this decision was not about football.  There are a few members on the board who openly despise Coach Price.  Also, Poole has done just about everything in his power to rid BH of anyone with the last  name of Price.  I will not be suprised if Coach Price is more succesfull at his new job than he was at BH.  

Sorry Eagle82, I wont do that.  I wish the next AD at BH luck, they will need it.  Hopefully they will hire the most qualified candidate

I never said she was a "poor coach", she has won everywhere she has been.  She knows the game probably about as well as anybody in the state, but that is not the only thing that matters.

I will not say on this board what Hall has done in the past.  I know for a fact things happened because it happened when I was in school in the 90's.  She would not be a good for BH.  Yes she won, but she also had quite a few D1 basketball players.  Also, she did not have to compete with volleyball so she got her players year round.  I have nothing personally against her, I just would not want her coaching my daughter if I had one.
