You hit on the points that kept this from happening previously. Travel times/costs would be negligible considering most current games would be in your division, so mostly 1 hour differences. The B1G is also a fit, no doubt. But I fear you underestimate the level of regard in the sec. I wouldn't be surprised at all for them to kill a deal with UT and ou.

^^ That's all pretty accurate. None of the UT stuff is happening till the GOR expires and I still lean toward going independent after that. The issue is what happens with ou. We're tied at the hip with them for now, and likely could end up going to the same conference when the Big 12 dies. Another legit possibility is going to the PAC, creating a 16 team league. UT, Tech, ou, and Okie lite in with the Arizona schools, Utah, and Colorado in one division, then the Pacific coast schools in the other. I could did that as well.
