I think you can take Ozen out and add in Vidor. Yes I know they beat us last year. Believe me I can't forget it! What has changed at Ozen to make you think they will be in there, or is it just your team? If that is the case I understand the bias.

Just an observation since we are all obviously biased. My prediction is 1. Vidor 2. Pirates 3. VP 4. VHS Now I said it! By the way I would be good with any of these places. Now my real "guess" is 1. Vidor (biased) 2. Nederland 3. Lumberton 4. Central ??? But who really knows?

This is a good post here and it says volumes for the Vidor community and where they are now after last night. Jeff Matthews is a friend of mine and I am proud for him, the Vidor team and the community. Yes, it was "just" a scrimmage, but nothing says you've arrived as a team and a program like putting it on WOS. WOS is one of, if not THE premier program in SE Texas. Vidor fans, coaches and players are excited about this and they should be. This was about the team getting better, but it was also about proving they turned the corner to themselves, their community and the rest of SE Texas and I feel they did that. Vidor has a good team and they should be proud. While it doesn't count on the records of either team, it counts mentally for Vidor. As for the person who smarted off about our 4000 scrimmage win streak, you need to pay attention. We didn't win EITHER of our scrimmages last year and still went undefeated in regular season and had the number 1 defense in 3A. Thanks Gas you have real Class!

Good points, but we here at Vidor have been waiting for a good year for quite a while. We are going to start getting excited early! This should not take away from any other team. You are correct when you say this game does not really reflect on WOS at all. Both teams are still working out the kinks, but as a Vidor fan I loved what I saw and am looking forward to the games that will matter. Hopefully this will be a great season where there are few injuries and many players and teams shine! Hopefully our district will turn some heads and many players will get a chance to play at the next level from our part of the state. That being said it looks to us vidorians like we are going to have a great season this year and can you blame us for getting excited?

Hopefully you guys will keep thinking that Vidor is all talk! This will be a fun year!

From what I witnessed tonight at the scrimmage its gonna be tough to stop Vidors Offense. I understand that WOS is a 3-A school but does Dayton have a team this year ? Whats got me puzzled is Dayton could only score 7 points on WOS and Vidor could have scored @ will (without turnovers). WOS had a good defender sitting out for the scrimmage but how much could this one player have helped ? I will admit that I have been hard on the pirate fans since I've found this website but they are for real and until you see them you won't understand. * as for WOS us Nederland fans will find out how good they are when we play. It would just be hard for me to believe that both Dayton and WOS have weak teams especially in the same year and for those that doubt Vidor thats basically what your saying. Yes the QB was off at first but looked better later. We only attempted one pass but made it for a completion. Hopefully we will get it up to 2-3 passes a game. I have to say we looked really good other than the 3 fumbles.

Man, wish I could have gone. Oh well... Well, moving on. Let the Lumberton crowd start tearing this big statement by the Pirates down. You know, since we are just "all talk" and all that... ;D Not sure how they are going to tear this down, but it will be fun to watch! ;D

Joey, bud. Gotta disagree with you on that. This schedule is just more of the same as far as scrimmage. Of course, they will get their test next week as the Mustangs come a knockin'. As I remember we played WOS to a tie last year in a scrimmage. Hopefully it will be different this year either way!

We here in Vidor appreciate the kind works COOP! I am looking forward to this one. I believe this will tell us alot more about what our guys are made of. I think they are going to be really good, this gives them the opportunity to prove it.

You have just about hit it on the head. This is some of the funniest stuff I have ever read. How in the world can you grade either team with kids coming in and out, coaches for most of the scrimmage on the field, officials running all over the place. I thought that OF looked very good at times. I was concerned about Vidor early, but they did look good in what was something like a game situation. Look at the side lines Vidor had 132 kids and OF had somewhere around 50, big difference. OF will make some noise in their district. I like the new coach over there. He is doing a great job with the short time he has had. I will bet you this, with Vidor's smash mouth approach and our physical size, that is why no one really wants to play us early, it could spell disaster for a team to loose a few kids early in the season. Good post Pirate. I saw the the same thing. Vidor has some strong looking kids. The numbers of the each school was evident in the 9th, JV and Varsity games. heck, we did not have a second or third string. A lot of kids were going both ways in every group. Coach Huckaby is just what our kids needed. He is bringing back old school discipline. I love it and so do the kids. I was very impressed with the Vidor kids. I hope you guys do very well this season because we are both on the other side of the bridge. ;D Even though we lost, I was very happy with the way Orangefield played. They were overmatched and never backed down. When those kids who are going both ways get in shape, we will be tough. I thought we had some good looking kids also. Orange Field has nothing to be ashamed of. It s still very early in the season also.

The backs were very quick indeed. The first team offense and defense looked very good for Vidor I thought. The 2nd team defense needs some fine tuning curious to see come district how many we will have go both ways? The offense is very hard to defend with these quick backs we have I know i lost it several times myself. It was kinda funny watching kids from both teams chasing someone who did not have the ball. Coach mathews get the soccer coach to get us a kicker!!!!!!! I second the motion for a new kicker! That cost us big last year in the early part of the season. Remember the Central game?

Another comment on the Vidor game. We actually scored with a passing play!

Any size on the PNG line this year?

Of course this is a little misleading. The fumbles and misfires were during the format where we had second team players mixed in. At the end they put 20 mins on the clock and put in all first string. Vidor scored three straight TDs without a turnover. The defence looked great also. OF did not move the ball well at all after the change and it seems like they fumbled the ball a few times. The trouble spot looked to be in the kicking dept.

Raider it's not Vidor that is doing the talking. It is outside sources. I seem to remember a lot of talk that was quietened down quickly coming out of the L-Town last year! ;D

Just a comment. Vidors line is huge this year!

Have to say that woud be something to see from last to first in one year. I am just glad to see Vidor getting some respect this year. Another note, PNG lost a step last year, but you guys are always tough, better not look past the indians!
