  1. Thank you, Both players were good in school and are still good. Both of your opinions are valid, but they are just opinions. But I do believe Clay is the faster of the two and He is an all around better ball player. That is just my opinion

  3. The most dominant pitcher was Steve Martin (92 BC). That year the district was very good and Coach Young road him all the way to the 4A state championship. Alot of people just remeber the recent players like Angelle. Martin brought BC to state in a much tougher district and stiffer playoff competion then Angelle.
  4. My previous post was in reference to this post. Sorry.
  5. He went to McNeese as a position player because McNeese did not have clue! He should have been a Pitcher/SS. They tried to put him in outfield because he has so much speed. He was outstanding at SS and McNeese has no clue. If they did they would have had him pitching, hence the fact that he is the Boston Red Sox to pitching prospect in thier farm system. I my opionion he is the best all around baseball player to ever come out of this area. If boston would put him in the field, he would also excell at that and could probably be in the top ten in stolen base in the majors. This kid is the real deal.
  6. Derek Blacksher is with the Jamestown Jammers, Class A short season (Florida Marlins).
  7. I hope you get this in time. Tonight June 22 at LCM 5:00pm. McNeese's AD and coaching staffs will be having a meet and greet. You may want to attend and talk to them. If you go to McNeese.edu you can see for your self the details.
  8. It wiil be a lot different in college but the ones that work the hardest are the ones that continue playing. So don't quit working and good luck the rest of the way. Hope to read about you at a D-1 in the future.
  9. People worry to much about size in baseball. If David Eckstien can be the MVP of the world series last year. It proves that size does not matter. Also how hard you throw as a pitcher. EX. John Rocker (atlanta). Could throw 97+ and can't find a team. So this kid should not get discouraged. You just have to go and give it a shot.
  10. Yes, he is the hardest working player you will ever meet. He does not get the credit he is due. Congrats to Derek and good luck from here own out.
  11. I believe that is the case chief. I really did not see anything special about Jasper. I thought BC beat them selves in there series. But hey, I guess I was wrong. To bad we could not have met up at state.
  12. Congrats to Jasper that is really cool that you guys won. I was pulling for you, It makes 3 years in a row that BC loses to the State Champ. That is just ridiculous.
  13. Who is coming back next year and what pitching? I know Hicks will be a pitcher. I just hate see us depend on him all year. Since he is such a good shortstop. Is there any more freshman that have the potential to be starters next year besides Robertson, and Hicks.
  14. One thing for sure is that BC has a great future in front of them with Hicks and Robertson. Those Kids are outstanding. Out of all the players that we here about that are good. The right fielder from Jasper should be named the MVP. He made some game saving grabs in outfield. I don't know his name but he diffenently can play for me.
  15. Yes, he made the right call. He just waited to late to make it. The kid had all his momentom going forward and at the last minute Bryant changed his mind. He was waving Robertson hard the entire time. That is on Billy not the kid, you have to make up your mind early. The Bulldogs deserve this chance. You can't make 20 E's in 3 games and expect to win. I know there was not 20 E's on the board but there was plenty of mental E's. I really just have one question? Why as a coach would you wait until after you go down a run to make a pitching change. He had the chance to do it the batter before and choose not to. After the winning hit, you change your mind. Another undecisive move by the coach. Hicks had and outstanding game and deserved to win, but in my opionion. You should always go down with your best on the mound. Why let it go with Stringer standing in the bullpen watching your team go down a run. Makes absolutley zero since.
  16. You can sugar coat it how ever you want. But in a game of this magnitude, you have to finish every play. That is the difference in good teams and players, at this level in the playoffs. Jasper was down 6-1 and did not stand around and watch the ball. Guess what, they came back and won. That is a never say die attitude that has beat BC 3 times this year.
  17. You may not have saw where the ball went. But from the first time you start playing baseball. The coaches tell you to run until the umps. tell you to stop. So that is no excuse for standing at home plate. Finish every play out. You can not put a price on hustle.
  18. 1. 2nd inning 2. Not sure of name, good off speed stuff 8 k's if i'm corrrect. 3. Yes stringer went the distance. He pitched plenty good enough to win. He was in total control until the intentional walk. Then the wheels fell off the wagon on defense. Not his fault at all except for poor attitude.
  19. If Coach Young was still here. This player would not only not be on the bench. He would not even be on the bus back to the stadium tomorrow. He could watch the game from the bench in the stands.
  20. I was thinking the same thing. You can never as a player and especially a high school player ever, ever, ever question your coach like that. I promise if you do that in college you will be sitting in the stands and not on the field. He may not be making the right move, but that is not your decision to question. Then in the last inning. Stand at the plate and watch the ball while you should be running is terrible. That should have been a double that was turned into a single because of lack of concentration. Never think you are bigger then the game. It will beat you. Sorry, for calling someone out on this site. Your a good player, but attitudes ruin good players.
  21. You may have won the district, but its not over yet. This is really cool that two teams in the same district will meet to go to state. WOW! Good luck BC. I would say good luck Jasper if you were playing anyone else. Sorry though I can not wish you any luck, I'm sure you understand.
  22. If BC does win today. I hope they pick a high school field to play on just because most high school fields are smaller and it could impact hits staying in the park or not. This is a high school series with high school kids playing, so lets keep it this away. I would hate to see some balls that would normally carry out of the park, stay up and get caught to impact this last series.
  23. Well, Injun since it seems that you dislike everyone and your son must have set the bench. Who would you vote for?
  24. Wow, I can't believe people would knock someone that has been to 2 consecutive state tourneys and possibly a 3rd depending on the Carthage series. I promise you that every other school in the state or for that matter the country. Would be extremly happy to have a coach that has been this succesful. I have to admit, I did not agree with Coach Bryant getting the job do circumstance with in the school board. But You have to give the guy some credit. He has done a hell of a job and I have no complaints. If he gets coach of the year are not. He probably could care less. Im sure he is just worried about the next game in front of him. I did not play for him but I have talked to some former players of his. Not a one of them had anything negative to say about him. He may not be the best interviewer or sound like he knows what he is talking about but his record sure does and thats what really matters.
  25. How is he doing after hitting the wall?
