Originally the game was scheduled for Bellaire HS, HISD as a rule this year because of COVID-19 No Fans are allowed to attend any games at the schools. Fans are allowed at the stadiums. Yates has rented Butler Stadium twice this year for non district games that were scheduled at the school. Maybe he was thinking the game was at the school

The BU vs Bellaire BB Game has been moved from Bellaire HS to Butler Stadium. The game is scheduled for Tuesday, December 15, 2020. I believe tickets can be purchased at the door, limited seating per HISD Rules

Silsbee will be fine, I see them winning 4 out of there next 6 games against Woodville, Orangefield, Lufkin and Center, taking an L against Nederland and BU. I am sticking with my earlier predication of Silsbee winning their district and playing HJ in the Regional Quarterfinals.

You are correct, particular schools in Houston are allowed to receive kids from anywhere in Houston, like Heights, Bellaire, Lamar in HISD. It's not fair for the other small towns in that district and area having to play Silsbee. Again Silsbee talent level is equal to a 5A team.

I don't see at lot of conversation about Silsbee moving up and playing basketball in 5A with the superior talent level this school produces compared to other teams in their district. Teams in that district don't have the talent pool in their communities to equal the athletics that find their way to Silsbee HS. This is my personal opinion

Silsbee had a young man that wanted to return home to play for them years ago and the district voted him out and blocked him from playing for Silsbee which would have given the tigers a good possibility of winning a state title, parents went to Silsbee but sent them to other schools but when the parents decide to bring them back, this is an obvious violating of the eligibility of student-athlete rule for changing schools for athletic purposes. The UIL State Executive Committee does deny those schools you mention student-athlete appeals for varsity eligibility, upholding the previous ruling of the district executive committees.

SETX has beaten this issue to death regarding Faith Family being allowed to play in 4A. It's time to move past the issue of Faith Family being allowed to play in 4A. If The UIL doesn't have an issue with FF and they have not violated any rules let it go and build a team to beat them. Please if anyone has any evidence that FF is cheating, submit it ASAP to the UIL if not let it go. This statement is going to rub some people the WRONG WAY, Yates, Faith Family and Silsbee should be playing up in 5A with the talent level on those teams. Regardless of where the players come from, if they are recruited or neighborhood kids, the talent level is different compared to teams in their division. This monster team that Silsbee will have next year and beyond SHOULD be playing in 5A, because Bridge City, Lumberton, LCM, Orangefield and Vidor will not be able to compete with Silsbee. Yes I understand that those players are from Silsbee community, but the fact remains the talent level isn't the same with Silsbee and those other teams in their division. This is my personal opinion

Come on guys, we y’all know the rules for classification and enrollment. I don’t hear any 4A schools complaining when they beat the brakes off Yates in football or baseball. What goes around comes around in high school athletics. Silsbee Back2Back Boys BB Team was so loaded they should have been playing in 5A ???

I don’t see anyone in 4A beating Faith Family this year. I blood Yates but this is not our year, Yates is too young and don’t have a outside shooter and the guard position is very weak. I don’t believe there’s a team in SETX that can out score or defend Faith Family this year, Faith Family is too deep and seasoned. Silsbee is too young, HH, and HF doesn’t score enough points and the HJ coach will complain and cry after they get whipped by a team that recruits.

This is a re-building year for Yates, the transfer portal was quiet this year. Yates has the big man and 4 misfits that are lost and confused on the floor but they are young. Time will tell if this team can come together.

I'm sorry but I believe the coach for HJ attacked the character of Coach Wise at Jack Yates with his comments after HJ lost to Yates.

HISD has indicated that NO FANS are allowed to attend any basketball games played at any of their high schools. LC-M is scheduled to play at Yates, ZERO Fans in attendance. Fans are allowed for the district games that are played at the stadiums.
