  1. OC, 10 teams (listed above) are in 21-5A for volleyball. (9 teams for FB. No BT Lee)
  2. MaxPreps is very incomplete on their results. I think the district records currently are: BH 12-0 - *BH beat KP in a thrilling 3 set sweep at KP last night to remain unbeaten in district. KPark 10-2 Porter 9-3 And I have no idea how Dayton, Crosby, Splendora, Caney Creek, Lee, Humble and New Caney have done. Does anyone have accurate records for these teams?
  3. I can read the # of posts you have made. Thanks. I was just referring to the opening post of this topic. An interesting revelation indeed.....
  4. Wow....what an opening post......
  5. "Most of my knowledge and experience is on the girls side where we have competed from day one." Hoopster - I would say 'moderate' success prior to Rivers in the early 80s! "Many many years ago when my friends and I played football, we loved the game and it didn't matter who was the coach or how lavish the facilities or equipment; we played." And this is how I was raised. (played bball all summer in a NON A/C GYM in the old HS (now MSN) Our parents parenting style is long gone. I still think we are headed in the right direction - said with fingers crossed!
  6. BH reported 1527 for this re-alignment. 6A is 2150 and up now. It will be interesting to watch. I can't imagine moving up at the 2018 shift but who knows. I think 2-4 years is more accurate for BH to compete hard - but the foundation is being laid. I've heard that a few true athletes that had left the program are back in with the coaching changes. That will help.
  7. There will be a new face roaming the halls at Barbers Hill today. While it won’t belong to a student, it will still belong to an integral part of the football team. Danny Cowgill will begin work today at Barbers Hill, where he will assume the defensive coordinator position, under new head coach Tom Westerberg. “We coached together in the International Bowl a couple of years ago and I really liked his (Cowgill) energy and the system he ran on defense,” Westerberg said. “We stayed in touch and it just happened that he wanted to come to Texas. “He knows how to win.” Ironically, also on the 2014 International Bowl coaching staff with Westerberg and Cowgill, was former longtime Lee High School head coach Dick Olin as offensive coordinator. Cowgill comes to Barbers Hill after spending the previous two seasons as defensive coordinator at Daphne, Alabama. Prior to that, he spent seven seasons at Nease High in in Nease, Florida, four as head coach and the first three as defensive coordinator. “I’ve been coming to Texas for a while with USA Football and I have a lot of real good friends who coach in Texas and I know football is great in the state,” Cowgill said. “Texas high school football is the pinnacle of the sport. Now I’ll get a chance to see for myself
  8. If you get to it, can you tell us who is in the Deer Park district? (and I hope you didn't already cover this....) uil website still down....
  9. waiting....waiting....waiting....
  10. No he should not. Happy for his success at CEK but BH is not the place for him.
  11. So very happy for the BH hire. Awesome! (Congrats to Poole) I hope the kids will now put in the work (year round) to earn the respect on the field, given the leadership they will now have. I also hope the BH community will give him time to build the program back to where it was. This won't happen overnight..... (so maybe my third statement was just wishful thinking...)
  12. BH lost in 5. What a great season! No one expected much from the BH team and they did awesome! Good Luck to George Ranch at the state tourney. Dripping Springs and Lovejoy play in the semi's. Darn - THAT will be the game of the tourney. Winner of that game, wins state.
