GCM has never won a playoff football game. Should have beaten Central in 2009, but had some big plays called back and fumbled an option pitch inside the 20 (my son was the one who made the option pitch). Being the 4 seed is a tough road- for any team. That being said, they have enough talent to "compete" for a playoff spot. Probably not win the district, but they should compete. Of course, one high school would have helped considerably. There is enough football talent in Baytown to win some games. Don't get me wrong, it would not be a North Shore or Allen type of program, but it would give us a chance. FWIW: Goose Creek Roughnecks, Black and Silver, Silver Oilers' derrick on a black helmet. They should have just asked me.

Great win for my Bobcats. Terrible loss for the Longhorns. Texas fans will be calling for Pierce's job.

Final RSS 13 WB 6 RSS insures themselves of at least a tie for the 4 seed. IF King loses again to La Porte, RSS will be in sole possession of that final playoff spot no matter the outcome on Friday.

Come on now. That final is 7-4, not 7-0. Let's fix that headline.

That's part of the problem, but only as it relates to participation numbers and UIL classification. The two years in 6A set GCM back four years at least. Many of the better athletes left or focused on one sport other than football. Very few are willing to take a beating on Friday Night for honor and glory. The UIL could help all of the GCCISD schools by matching them with Pasadena ISD. It's a more comparable demographic and there is no reason for Humble ISD to be in that district.

They will beat Ball at home.

Section 1220 of the UIL Baseball Plan (2) Total Number of Games. No team or student shall compete in more than three invitational tournaments plus 17 baseball games in a season, including all games prior to the first playoff game. This shall include non-district and district games.
