  1. Interesting points:    few thoughts from the 59-point loss and on the A&M program in general moving forward: * Did Sumlin’s early success at A&M, 11-2 in 2012, come from inheriting a disciplined bunch of upperclassmen and a dazzling newcomer in Johnny Manziel from the (gruff) Mike Sherman regime? Certainly hard to argue with that right now, considering Sumlin’s program has regressed in each of his three seasons. Sumlin is going to have to prove otherwise at this point. * An extremely astute observer of A&M football told me a year ago to keep an eye on the progress – or lack of – of the offensive line as the players get further and further away from the Sherman/Jim Turner tutelage, two men who are passionate and technically sound regarding the line. The current (and veteran) offensive line, thought to be the team’s biggest strength entering the season, is one of its biggest weaknesses. Why is that? * I’ll ask it again: Will this type of finesse offense work in the SEC West without a dual-threat quarterback like Manziel? Right now the evidence is stacked against that, as league defensive coordinators appeared to have figured out – and then some – Sumlin’s novel approach to offense (and that weak offensive line certainly doesn’t help). * There’s an awful lot of ugliness out there from mad Aggies for one of its most embarrassing stretches in program history, and I can’t say that I blame them. Ticket prices are sky high, the coach worked the school over for a $2 million raise during a fourth place finish in the SEC West last year (true loyalty is a long-lost word), and fans were asked to step up to pay for a $450 million ongoing renovation to Kyle Field with the idea they’re helping fund a quality product – that’s all contributed to eliciting this response. * It’s evident A&M’s lack of discipline off the field – around 20 arrests in the past 20 months or so – carries over to on the field, and that’s squarely on Sumlin. He’s reiterated the program is taking steps to remedy the discipline issues, and a good gauge of that will be the next nine months (leading to 2015 training camp).
  2. Calling Sumlin a "Tan Fran". Gotta love txags.
  3. ND got hosed. They ran the same play earlier and the penalty was not called. Right or wrong, if it's not a penalty then, don't call it with the game on the line.   I hope the NC game is as good as this one was. Very entertaining.
  4. Ok boys. Been gone for a while. What did I miss?   #WeRefuseToScore
  5. If I knew there was going to be so many seats available, I woukd have packed up the family and made a trip to Dallas.
  6. Arkie beats Collie 35-34 Soooooooooey!
  7. Every game is homecoming in aggie land ( that way they can increase their chances of at least winning 1 homecoming game.) Most universities have a Homecoming. It is not usually predicated on playing an opponent they can beat (like most high schools do) since most schedules are set years in advance.
  8. Someone has to beat them on the field first. The SEC champ, whoever it is, might have 2 losses.
  9. Michigan is going to make a run at Jim Harbaugh. They think they have a shot with San Fran struggling and the owner not committing on a new contract. Michigan will probably fire their AD first. Muschamp needs to be a DC.
  10. Too bad this ain't high school.
  11. Hence the "3/4". That's a fraction representing 75% or inferring that 3 of the 4 teams listed did not have o-lines equal or better than Arkansas'.
  12. Happens with the munchies (or so I've heard).
  13. Gotta defend that field from the maurading hordes of cheerleaders.
  14. He really enjoys spending all that extra aggie money in San Marvelous.
  15. Tulsa bout to get that azz whipped on the SEC family of networks.
  16.   Who is Kettle? 5 star aggie recruit?
  17.   17 sacks vs SC, Rice, Lamar, and SMU.   I bet Arkansas has a little bit better o-line than 3/4 of those teams.
  18.   "one lose". Enough said.
  19.   Who else? Only 4 spots.   Les's say those teams break down like this:   Alabama Oklahoma Oregon Florida State Michigan State Notre Dame
  20.   So let's see:   SEC Champ 1 loss Big XII Champ 1 loss PAC 12 Champ 1 loss ACC Champ 1 loss Big 10 Champ 1 loss Notre Dame undefeated   Who gets left out?
  21.   Speaking of Notre Dame, if they win out this year, do they make the Playoff? Their schedule is pretty solid: FSU, Stanford, Arizona St, USC, and L'ville.
  22.   I'm sure there is pending litigation over the name "Aggie". The UTAM Aggies are quite litigious.
  23.   Seeing as he committed before the Swag-o-copter even took off, how is that even relevant?
  24. They could have been 0-12. SEC ya later.
