1. I hope they didn't bring an actual snake pit to the game and then lose
2. Oxen played good enough to win. However Vidor played better to actually get the win. If Ozen can't close out games and watch the trick plays even when the coaches and everyone are screaming it from the sidelines then there may not be a postseason. But the fact will always remain that they played their heart out and by halftime I was really hoping to see em win homecoming after the Beaumont bowl victory
3. Central has the more talented team. Central does not have the home field advantage. I'm not sure who will make more costly mistakes but that will be a big part of the game. Well I see this as a good game although the score may not show it at the end because Lumberton DOES FIGHT THE WHOLE GAME AND COME AT YOU WITH EVERYTHING. However, I give this win to Central. But I could be wrong and the Jags could still be feeling a bit down after that loss last week. It is an emotional and huge game to bounce back from, but it is possible to.
4. You shouldn't be able match PAM with anyone. JV, Freshman, or Varsity. You have a whole city of student athletes to yourself. You're supposed to win
5. If I could take one thing away from the game, any game, it would be injuries. Things just aren't the same; they just turn into shoulda woulda couldas. But I do know that PNG is stacked with talent, never knew where it came from, but they got it. Hope he's well soon though
6. LOL! "Texas football is a religion indeed." Sure can't wait for this matchup tonight. Hope the intensity level matches this atmosphere then it will definitely be a good one.
7. Some fans do take sports too far. The main ones to me are the ones in the stands that holler and curse at the coaches, players, refs, and even other fans at the actual contest. Now you are right that we shouldn't bash kids, but we neither should bash coaches. However, if you are stating facts, is it then still considered bashing? There's that gray area again. And if you made people put their real names up on here, then you will see some real fights in the future because I believe they're gonna say what they're gonna say regardless.
8. Aint not friends in football. That's like smoking a good piece of chicken and then pouring A-1 steak sauce all over it. It just wasn't meant to be.....but some of us do it anyways.
9. First of all, I am a fan of the 409 and from and currently live in the area so I can make any opinions or statements regarding any team as I see fit. So yes I will just do my hating so please let me do it. Good thing you are overprotective of your child. Some kids need that nowadays. But when it comes to football I am the champ so here are your ten reasons why Central lost to Ozen: 1. They did not gameplan good enough to stop Jakobi Jones nor any type of run game. Even though he did not score, he set up just about half of them if not all. 2. The coaches did not coach better than the Ozen ones. 3. Coach Blake is not coaching this year. 4. Coach Ardoine is gone. 5. My buddy Kervis Fontenot is not there to pump up and toughen up the D anymore. 6. Of course Coach Bowser would have made some imporvement. 7. The Central line is young. But they should be good next year I'm predicting. 8. The kids gave up after they were down in a game they could have easily came back in. I have coached teams after they were down by 24 before to win a game. 9. The pass defense wasn't exposed as much as they should have. #20 gave up two big passes in the game and the game plan should have included throwing it downfield a little bit more then once they backed up some, take your short routs. I think Ozen's offense and defense play off one another's tempo so ruin one's tempo and you have a shot to do some serious damage to the scoreboard. 10. Mrs. Lambert is not there anymore to hold meetings and get after them after their losses. "Come on guys. What's going on out there? You playing like a girl or something?" (quote off my favorite recent movie) Central played bad and that's all. This time my prediction was incorrect as they may be again. They have more weapons than they showed. The QB is a great player and so are some on Ozen's side but they showcased theirs more than Central should have. Sorry your son/daughter who plays for Ozen or yourself may feel sad about educated guesses. But we did learn one thing, Tony Brown Jr. sure can dance. He was dancing on the field during the blowout in about the 3rd quarter for some of the fans who may have left early or weren't looking. I hope that isn't what they are coaching up at Ozen. It should have been flagged. And sorry if someone feels like I'm downing another player, that was just a fact of the game. Well get em next year Jags I hope. Good luck Ozen against Vidor cuz they are the better team in this matchup. Now back to work guys......and women.
10.
I was wondering how long it was gonna be before someone said Ozen had no discipline. I wish 409 fan(panther hater) could give us 10 more reasons why the speedy undisciplined panthers will loose to vidor
And just when you thought you put me away.......I'm back! Sorry for the wait guys but I have to take care of what pays the bills and also who helps pay them. Secondly, I wish I could give you the top 10 reasons why Ozen beat Central in the first place but that's not the title of the post so I will give you MY TOP TEN REASONS WHY THE PANTHERS WILL LOSE HOMECOMING COME FRIDAY NIGHT: 1. Now I said it last week and maybe I lied, but this week the coaching staff I know is not better than Vidor's 2. Jordan Ozen could only muster up about 10 receptions for 150 yards last week against bad Central defense, not to mention the 3 yarder that Jones turned into 70 yards 3. Vidor is too strong 4. Vidor plays too tough and low 5. Jakobi Jones is still kind of overrated because he can only juke against teams who are not as fast AND DISCIPLINED as him. I wonder if he does the same in practice 6. They don't have that tough Nederland defense to cause havoc and pressure the QB and offense 7. They don't fare well against 3-3-stack teams or teams that play it. Don't believe me then look at Stephensville and Memorial film I know they remember those games and the lopsided scores 8. I can't remember the last time they won homecoming game. Try beating up on a team like Lumberton next year if you wanna win will ya 9. Their linemen are still very unexperienced and only played decent because they played against a team also with a very unexperienced line. But the big difference is next year Central will have most of those boys back I heard while Ozen will ONCE AGAIN LOSE THEIR GUYS IN THE TRENCH 10. Returning starter and Willie Ray Smith nominee Montana Quirante (had to google it to spell it right). Now there's a reason why he plays QB and starts on defense at MLB the most important position on defense My pick is Vidor to win this one 28-14. I do think they will take their foot off the gas at the end and burn a lot of time with their offense since they are good friends with the Ozen kids after GETTING THEM IN THE PLAYOFFS LAST YEAR BY BEATING LIVINGSTON FOR THEM.
11. Need I mention that both JV and varsity lost last night!
12. :'( A little over 26 hours until the scheduled kickoff. I must say I am a bit surprised that Ozen hasn't been cocky and bragging as their usual self. Maybe because they are already working on their post game speeches. LOL! Well it will not be a good game at all though. I talked to a good friend of mine and coach at Central and he said they have a few things lined up for the game that should make it interesting. But when I asked one of my Ozen acquaintances how they would fare, he wasn't quick to say "I don't know. I guess we will just have to wait and see on gameday". I mean geesh have a little more faith in your program will you!
13.

Everybody mark this on your pick em's cuz 409fan said so  :D 409fan since you have nothing else to do but pick my Panthers apart, give us a list of 10 reasons why every other team in the 409 either won or lost last week. Preseason is just that. At this point all teams should have a feel of what they need to work on. I said it before and I'll say it again and as a Panther fan, Saturday was the worse I've seen any of those kids play but trust me they are not down for the count. Can't wait to see your list of reasons after the game.
I wish I could give you those twenty reasons (10 for Central and 10 for West Brook) but I only attended one game last week. And yes I can't wait for 7:00pm 9/28/12.
14.

Glad to see that you or someone took that post down
I removed it. For his status on this site, he best not post anything like that again. ;)
I personally feel threatened by your remark.
15. Ok I admit the first post was a bit one sided and out of line. But I don't think they will win against Central. Let me know if this one is out of line at all and I will do away with it.
16. Ozen players did not match up at all. Here are 10 reasons why they won't beat Central Friday after next: 1. Jakobi Jones was proven a nonfactor. He couldn't even rush the ball, play fakes were not up to par, and one of his passes he wasn't even looking at it to even make a play on it. 2. The offensive line is too young and inexperienced. They did not block backside at all. Jordan Ozen was constantly under pressure and for that, he got injured three quarters in the game. 3. Jordan Ozen was par at best. I've seen this kid play better like vs West Brook but this just wasn't a good game for him at all and I really don't see him bouncing back especially going out with an injury. 4. Jarvaris Curl is a backup with no varsity experience. More reps could mean better play but not good enough to beat that speedy defense of the Jaguars. 5. The defensive line is excellent except when they are running the ball right up the middle. 6. The pass defense gave up too much. Stephensville threw the ball when they wanted to and where they wanted to. They really need to step up. Tony Brown is a good kid, has good work ethic, but not a good athlete. He was fussing back and forth with his coach and did some very unsportsmanlike stuff in the game like stepping over a kid after making a tackle. 7. Central is much faster than Stephensville. 8. Central is much stronger than Stephensville. 9. Even though Central is not as disciplined as Stephensville, they are more disciplined than Ozen I believe. 10. Too many injuries on Ozen's part to make up for the losses.
17. Who are you picking to win this "upset"?
